Is this the cover? If so, nice nod to the Bing Crosby classic album. Looking forward to this (the originals especially). Raphael Saadiq, who's at the helm, is one of my favorite producers. I'm gonna need John to bring some of the old-school The Whispers holiday flavor. Ready for some soulful Christmas either way!

Lord knows I'm so damn picky when it comes to Xmas music. But John's vocals were made for this sh*t. I don't care about any new or original material, but I can't wait to hear his takes on the classics.

It’s a bit early for Christmas music, but I can’t resist new John. He was made for this kinda music. I love it!

I love “Wrap Me Up in Your Love”. Nothing else really grabbing me right now, but I’m also not really ready for Christmas music..

To my complete shock, aside from the opening track, "What Christmas Means To Me" featuring Stevie Wonder, and "Purple Snowflakes," I didn't like this record at all.

This is terrible. The font and color combination reminds me of Usher's Versus EP. What happened to his creative team? His previous albums all have pretty impressive cover arts.

Had no idea this was coming so it looked like a surprise album til I came to this thread. Based on clips, this is his best since his first trifecta. SHOOTER, looks like no physical. I feel like if there was gonna be one, it would be available through his site but...nope.

Yeah, no sign of a physical, at least for now. I feel like this is a new wave we’re officially entering. Will keep you posted if I see anything Active AggressiveI only listened to the album once so far but I’m loving it. It’s reminding me of the Get Lifted I fell in love with.

Im not a John fan but I like the Jhene track. I only checked it out because I enjoyed their last duet on her album.

Solid album, great vocals here and there with come slick production. It's no Love in the Future for me but it exceeded my expectations after Darkness and Light.
My favorites are: Ohh La Wild Favorite Place Remember Us Never Break (great vocal moments towards the end)

I just wish labels would go ahead and drop physicals, so it gives me a reason to stop buying them instead of the back-and-forth. It's annoying that I only have a digital version of some albums I love, but I would rather buy the digital album than stream.

It's annoying that I only have a digital version of some albums I love, but I would rather buy the digital album than stream. Or just limit CD quantities and sell them exclusively through artist stores for the diehard fans to purchase. I know some artists are releasing projects as soon as they’re finished which doesn’t leave enough time for physicals to be released simultaneously and the pandemic could’ve also affected the ability of record plants to get product ready in time (he announced the album release about a month before but no telling how long it’s been done). This is all just theorizing obviously and I get why physical products (CDs specifically) are becoming scarcer. However, I see artists with lower profiles than him having CDs on the shelf at Target so it doesn’t totally make since why someone at his level (and with an older fanbase more likely to purchase physical) would completely abandon the format especially when not everyone is willing/wanting/able to shell out $30+ for vinyl.

My approach as we continue to usher in this new era is probably to just buy the vinyl for select artists worth that kind of money and stream the album if I don't get a download code

Production on this is EXCELLENT and this is definitely the most reminiscent of his debut in its effortless coolness, for a good part of it. He also brought back songs that have reduced me to a puddle. The last time he REALLY did that was on Evolver with I Love You, You Love and This Time. I've never disliked a John Legend album but he was becoming inessential to me (even though I LOVED his last album) but this is a marked improvement on at least 3 of his albums. Also, he brought back the quirky choked vocal sobs and SEXY SWAGGER. Favorite Place and Slow Cooker make me want to do Ezekiel 23:20–21 things. Unreal. Worthy of being in a John Legend greatest hits. Flawless:Conversations In The Dark (I will always be a sucker for this John, but this is the best version of that John and it MELTS me.) Slow Cooker (the cooking references must have Chrissy so wet, but...they work for me, too. This is beyond.) Favorite Place Wild Remember Us Focused Ooh La La Never Break B-Sides:Don't Walk Away U Move, I Move I Do Actions Always Kazakhstan Special Edition:I'm Ready (the fact that he dared to speak Here, My Dear as inspiration for this mess. It's not TERRIBLE without the comparison, but with it, YES...awful. NO comparison) Bigger Love One Life

My fave track on his last album was "Darkness & Light", the title track. Loved Brittany on that. Listening to the new songs now.
