Hiya. I wanted to post here to make sure you all see that there's now a beta program you can join, with the first feature available for testing: album charts! More infoAlso I added a few ad banners to the site. Sorry.

KurtI have not been able to import my chart from CSV for the last two weeks. I did not change my chart uploading routine at all, but starting the previous Monday and continuing today, whenever I make the attempt, it will take the CSV I uploaded and spit out a chart with only my #1 and none of the other 79 songs.
UPDATE: I had an idea, so I tested it out, and I was right. The main difference between the first entry and all the rest on the spreadsheet is that the Chart ID cell has the raw text while the other rows have "=A2". I changed the "=A2" to be direct copies of the first row's raw text, and now it's importing correctly. No clue why the suggested template is now incompatible with the site, but at least I got the thing to work again.

Hmm, that's intentional so that you only need to put your Chart ID in cell A2, and the rest of the rows will automatically update to match. Your workaround is what I would have recommended if that was causing trouble, though, so glad that worked for you.

I'll PM you my email address if you'd like to send me the file you're attempting to use for the import, in case I can spot any issues that are preventing it from working properly.

Been a long while since I've touched my Crownnote but I did so yesterday, and lemme just say, that ability to "replicate" a chart now saves me SO MUCH FRICKEN TIME THANK YOU

Hey Kurt! Someone ( I think this person) keeps editing the title of Daya's "See You In My Dreams" to "See You In My Dreams Tonight," and I'm getting really sick of having to fix it myself every week just for them to change it back. Is there any way to revoke their editing privileges or lock the song's page from further edits?

There isn't currently, but it's something I've been thinking about—someone keeps incorrectly editing "Escapism." too and it's been irritating me personally haha.

hi, what i'm facing rn is mostly a huge non-issue but so far in this i just have to ask, can you, specifically ofc, delete charts from other users, "anonymous" ones in question? i made the blunder of knowingly deleting my account with over 80 charts published (you probably already have no personal regard in doing so after reading this part even if possible but i'll still try) and though i get i can have them reinstated with a new account, i don't want having a mirage of random untagged charts circling in dry air because of my own thinly aided hindsight. i have all the chart links grouped up so no dated chart from like 2008 falls into a part of this
if i get a reply then thanks

(I can also associate them with a new account if that ends up being what you want instead.)

I am really enjoying using Crownnote for my custom music charts. I'm interested on doing specific genre related charts, you know, like Top 100 pop songs, top 100 rock songs, Top 100 AC songs, etc. Question is, is it possible to make separate accounts using the same email address as I have?

I don't know that I actively encourage it, per se, but I know quite a few users keep multiple accounts, and one way to do so with a single email address—if you have Gmail or another email provider that allows this—is to reuse your email address with + or . added.

The site seems to be completely dead right now. Getting "The application did not respond in time" any time I try to open a new page.

The site seems to be completely dead right now. Getting "The application did not respond in time" any time I try to open a new page. Yeah, overall the site has been getting slower over the past couple months, I believe due to the calculations done when trying to load things like chart peak/week data and songs' overall histories and points totals, which get more server intensive as the site gets used more. I'm working on some shorter- and eventually longer-term fixes for that.

Hey, I’ve been fond of Crownnote for a few years & have decided to finally jump on board and start using it for my own personal charts. I have been running into a few problems that have seemed to become more prominent than ever more recently. The first issue is the response time, the site runs extremely slow and most times it takes me over 10 minutes just to input a 25-track chart manually. Was just trying to use it today & kept running into “The application did not respond in time” errors. It’s been a little delayed since I can remember but it’s been kind of intensified since then.
My second concern is the efficiency of actually finding tracks. With so many duplicates of some songs, you have to be sure you’re consistent with the specific “duplicate” you’re choosing to ensure points & chart history are calculated accurately. Also, needing to sift through the “advanced search” by only using the song title calls for a nightmare, especially with the way the site has been running recently. I would love to see an option to not only allow a search for the specific Artist along with the song title, but also finding a way to incorporate all of the duplicate entries under one & not allowing the creation of a track that already exists. I’ve been doing my good deed trying to make sure I thoroughly search for a song before creating it but I am only one person & duplicates are added almost every day.
Last concern, not really a huge one but more so for my personal benefit, putting the points to use. Maybe integrating a certification (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, etc.) once a song reaches a certain amount of points on your chart. Also, pulling back the curtains a bit and going beyond the “Number Ones”. More statistics (Longest charting song, Most weeks at #1, Artist with most top 10 entries, etc.) based on our charts would be a super fun feature.
I love the website & I wish it was mobile/app friendly so I could update my charts on the go, but I do understand good things come to those who wait.. I’ve been following the Crownnote page on twitter hoping for updates on the server but nothing really comes from it. I am optimistic on what this site can be and I think with the correction of those issues, its a positive step in the right direction. Regardless, the website is amazing for what it does provide currently.

No idea if this is the right place to make suggestions or not lol but I'd love to see it so that dropouts / re-entries aren't connected to each other in the chart history graphs.
It should instead look like this: (And as a side note, No Points charts shouldn't be included in the "appeared on x of your charts" bit.)

Site has been unusable for the past 7 hours. Site has been unusable for the past 7 hours. Still can't upload song's artwork I'm going to look more closely at this tonight—something isn't quite right with the file storage adjustments I made the other day, it seems. That adjustment is going to allow me to remove images from the website server, which in turn is supposed to improve overall performance as well, so they're a bit tied together.

Crownnote is only loading some skeletal form of the website for me right now. I would have still tried to make my chart with it in this state, but the Advanced Song Selection pop-up looks like this and it makes my eyes hurt: EDIT ON TUESDAY NIGHT: I cleared my cache and cookies and logged back in, and the site is back to displaying like normal for now.

One thing I find annoying is that if I want to change album or single art, I have to upload the image that I want as a file, and instead of URL. but the option says, "Select an image already on the site, or upload a new image from a URL or a file saved on your device." Yet, there's no selection on the site, nor a way to copy and paste the link location, or upload via clipboard. Could any of those issues be fixed?

I have a weird question, but how can you find albums if they don’t show up in the search. In particular, the issue is with soundtracks. If I add a song from a soundtrack, the album doesn’t show in a search. I’m updating my 1992 charts and have run into this with the Mo money and Boomerang soundtracks. Both exist in the system but I can’t find them in the search.
For example, I was adding Krush’s song “Let’s Get Together (So Groovy Now)” form Mo’ Money. I can add the song title but the soundtrack won’t appear to connect it with the song. Is it because in the system the album title starts with quotation marks? Is there a work around?
