Sounds like the title of a third consecutive Album of the Year Grammy nomination to me, y'all! Anyway, the Hollywood's Bleeding album REALLY won me over and damnit, it still holds up today as a fantastic album, especially given its length. Posty's goaty throat on songs like Goodbyes, Circles, I'm Gonna Be, and Sunflower is just so endearing and he also comes across as one of the most respectful, sincere people in the music business. I'm glad he got out of L.A. and is just chillin' on shrooms in Mormon Country. That's where he needs to be, honestly. He seems like too much of a sensitive soul for Hollywood and I feel like he may have been a casualty had he stayed. Anyway, enough of the depressing s**t. Here are the first two singles from his upcoming album Twelve Carat Toothache, an album that has been fairly mysterious outside of the singles and the song with Doja. No reviews yet and not much of an idea of the sonics of the rest of the album. I'm glad he kept the same producers though. Very smart. I haven't heard the songs in full either and I never watched him on SNL so I didn't hear the song he did with Robin from Fleet Foxes, but I am excited by that too. Any other fans of Posty here? Glove Slap, maybe?

He attempted to recreate the magic of Circles with Wrapped Around Your Finger but failed miserably. Lemon Tree is awful.

It's fine. I need to come back but I'm just not feeling some of it. I do have a few favorites though.

On a first listen, this is no Hollywood's Bleeding, which may go down as his crowning glory, but this is very good. I will say I agree with the reverb criticisms, until I remember that he said he actually doesn't like his voice and I'm like ok, it makes sense. It's gonna be a stylistic, make-or-break thing. Nice body of work, though. Post has a right to be proud.

As a Post ultra I did enjoy this quite a lot For me, his albums need time to grow on me so I did give this multiple shots already I like the folk influences in 'Lemon Tree' 'Wrapped Around Your Finger' is a major jam, should have been the 2nd single in my opinion Dojas part on 'I Like You' is on point. Catchy hook too 'Insane' is just insane, probably my favorite so far I don't why it need 45 seconds of intro but the rest of 'Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol' is phenomenal His voice on 'Euthanasia' sounds so good, haunting vibe 'When I'm Alone' is super catchy and another highlight I understand 'One Right Now' was the lead but it does not really fit the rest of the album. As stated before, I will probably start obsessing over other songs in coming months lol

When I'm Alone is SUCH a good song. Wow. Also, I am on Team Reverb. It adds an atmospheric, eerie feeling, which really fits the songs. This is definitely his best album. Also, I did Waiting For A Miracle so dirty. It should be up several spots. If I have any gripe with the album, it's the ending. I think One Right Now was the absolute right choice to end the album after the bleakosity of Waiting For A Miracle. It's a breath of fresh air and a nice rebound moment. So, I would have preferred him to cut the Euthanasia demo. That's the kind of thing that belongs on a Target exclusive, not as the closer to one of the best albums of the year.

I’m wondering why Post Malone dropped so hard?? Because bundles stopped in late 2020 so the big artists lose like 150-200k in pure sales. Also, One Right Now simply wasn't half as big as Rockstar, Circles or even Wow.

Did this album flop? I hope not! I still love it! It's just outside the top 10 on Billboard albums chart with a single 2 months deep at number 9 re-peaking poised to go higher. Is it his first 3 juggernaut albums? Not so far. Is it still doing very well? Yes.

His albums have always served longevity, this not being lead by a super smash hit gives the album potential to produce more singles (as opposed to Hollywood's Bleeding) I think he's fine and in the long run this album will also be remembered, there's a lot of great stuff on here and I might place it just below HB but it probably will take a few more months to totally sink in for me

I assume there is some methodology and system in-place since streaming took over to check these kinds of things... but 18x platinum? His other recent certifications seem bloated enough, but this one feels egregious. 4x additional platinum since six months ago for a song that was released nearly 5 years ago? What's the math on this one?

Lol at no one caring about this As one of the OG Post Malone stans on this forum, I feel like I should drop my two cents on this project With 'Austin' I think Post wanted to go more into the songwriter lane. I feel like he took what I did not like about 'twelve carat toothache' and put more of that into his style, however there is still some gold to be found on here despite not reaching the highs of previous releases in my opinion

Predicted to debut at #2 just ahead of Morgan Wallen with 108k (Travis Scott is doing like 400k). Streaming dipped a little again, which is to be expected because he doesn't have The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Gunna, etc no features but the bundles padded his pure sales a bit more so it's doing like 13k less than Twelve Carrot Toothache. I don't think there's a hit on here. MAYBE the focus track Enough is Enough if it gets a big push to pop. Sign Me Up and Too Cool To Die possible future singles if the label even bothers pushing another

I never liked Post Malone until Circles. I actively disliked him. Then I Like You came out and I thought okay, maybe he isn't bad. Then Chemical and I was hooked. This album is SO good! Why is he now all of a sudden no longer in the public's favour?! Just because I like him now? :(

Why is he now all of a sudden no longer in the public's favour?! Just because I like him now? Because everyone outside his diehard base wants catchy mainstream trap-pop like Beerbongs & Bentleys. That's what happens when your albums sell off big catchy radio hits. When they stop, your sales do too. I Like You was a hit but not as big as his songs from 2017-19 and it dropped after the album was already out. Chemical was a very modest hit like One Right Now was last year so he barely clips 100k post-Covid.

I started this thread?? Of ALL people? Well, I guess it makes sense because I am officially a stan after this album. I was on the fence with Beerbongs and Bentleys but the singles really hooked me and I have been on since. This album is absurd in the best way possible. Austin really is one of the best of the mainstream artists because he really understands melody and choruses, in an old-fashioned way and can experiment, but still sound very much himself. I would love to hear what a Mariah and Post collab would sound like. She has had much more divergent collaborators in her career and his layering is beautiful on some of these songs. Anyway, back to this album. This is his mission statement and I feel like everything else was a warm-up. I'm glad he titled this after his government name because it deserves. Even the goofy shit like Speedometer works (Lead pedal, for your lovin' I would run all the lights. Also, the push my, push my, push my, push...a HOOK!) Even the weaker songs are sold by either a vocal performance, layering, or a hook (shoutout to Enough Is Enough!) That said, I might still feel Hollywood's Bleeding is his magnum opus, but this is on par with Twelve Carat Tootache, which was a great album also. I guess this could've been trimmed a bit, but I appreciate it as a body of work and I like the overall sound of it. The Max Martin songs stick out like a sore thumb though, honestly.
1. Mourning (Oh, this is my first time ever hearing this song at all. I don't know why I avoided his singles this go 'round given how much I loved his last album, but this is legit perfect. Wow.) 2. Too Cool To Die (What did Abel ever do to him to make him put this song on an album, LOL. Here for it though in a big way.) 3. Chemical (This is the first time I have heard this song in full and...this man really makes radio gold.) 4. Something Real (special.) 5. Laugh It Off (Excellent closer and an excellent song, overall. This will KILL live.) 6. Texas Tea (I mean, does this man commit or what? I had no idea where this was going but it really delivers.) 7. Landmine (Something about this really brings me in.) 8. Overdrive (Very pretty) 9. Socialite 10, Don't Understand (I knew I was in once I heard this, tbh) 11. Green Thumb (Not a lot of reverb. I dig it! Very pretty.) 12. Speedometer (I said all I had to say about this absurdity in my opening salvo, but this is cute) 13. Enough Is Enough (better than Sign Me Up. Still, not one of Max's bests) 14. Hold My Breath (This is like...5 songs in one, but also kinda cheesy?) 15. Novacandy (filler) 16. Buyer Beware (filler) 17. Sign Me Up (The "Someboody say..." part sounds...sour? Sorry, Max, but Watt and Bell know Post much better than you do. Love the lyrics though, LOL.)
