Only half of this top 4 was expected, so there's that, at least.

Surprised at how low Wake Me Up When September Ends is. I quit making charts in 2005 because I wanted to debut it at #1 but got tired of moving every other song down. I wasn't a smart kid.

Highly Suspect's The Boy Who Died Wolf took an L just before the RHCP album rankdown but it bounced back after returning on the ballot, as it storms the results with 7 votes. This makes it the first hard rock album rankdown since our first rankdown, the Gore rankdown. (unless you count Green Day/Muse/Incubus) Bob Moses' Days Gone By transists to catalog status as it is eliminated, having gotten 0 votes. A new set of albums enter the voting selection, as Wolves, How Did We Get So Dark, Ti Amo, Woodstock, Hydrograd, Melodrama and for some reason One More Light enter the voting selection. This brings us to 33 albums to choose from, which is a bit too much imo. So new rules: if an album is older than the eligibility criteria of 18 months (meaning the album would be at least 22 months old), it will be eliminated and transited to catalog status, where it has to be re-suggested. This would allow us to rank newer albums. The only album affected by this new rule change so far would be Meliora. (CTE's album would be affected by it 2 months from this post; the Grimes album will also be affected 1 month before that.) Also, an album needs 3 votes to enter the selection panel instead of 2, otherwise, the albums with the most suggestions enter the panel. (if not all of them got 1 vote each) If each album is voted, the album(s) with the least votes for the week and the least cumulative votes will also be eliminated. These rules will all be taken into effect in the rankdown results for this album. Album Rankdown #11: Highly Suspect - The Boy Who Died Wolf

Damn, I totally forgot about the American Idiot ranking.
I've been meaning to listen to Highly Suspect's album, so I might give this one a try.

Fitting this is the first hard rock rankdown since Gore, as this was my 2nd favorite hard rock album of the year behind Gore

Done and done.
Also, as a heads-up, Boy Who Died Wolf is still in the "next album" vote.

Is there a way to just vote on albums for the next round? Not trying to sound salty or difficult, but I haven't had a desire to listen to any of these since Blackstar. I still like doing these though, I just want to pick albums I like.

For American Idiot, my list would have looked something like this:
1. "Holiday" 2. "Jesus of Suburbia" 3. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" 4. "St. Jimmy" 5. "Homecoming" 6. "Are We The Waiting" 7. "American Idiot" 8. "Whatsername" 9. "Wake Me Up When September Ends" 10. "Letterbomb" 11. "Give Me Novocaine" 12. "Extraordinary Girl" 13. "She's a Rebel"

Nice showing for Green Day's songs. Thought "BoBD" would have won with flying colors? "Jesus of Suburbia" is the one that will chase those non Green Day fans away for good.

I love when my favorite song on the album is followed up by the three worst songs

I can't say I really liked this album overall. Kind of surprised me since I've always liked their singles from both albums.

A new set of albums enter the voting selection, as Wolves, How Did We Get So Dark, Ti Amo, Woodstock, Hydrograd, Melodrama and for some reason One More Light enter the voting selection. Kind of morbid relistening to Linkin Park's new album and seeing the first 2 song titles are "Nobody Can Save Me" and "Good Goodbye". "Heavy" is a also a lot more foreboding too.

It was a good album on the first 3-4 listens. I'm not sure that my #1 will rank high though.

That Highly Suspect album was just o.k.. Over all It's not really my style of Rock, and I didn't dig those mellow grunge metal tracks at all, but I really enjoyed their uptempo tracks and I found myself pushing the actual singles downward the list.

Just listened and I forgot how awful some of the bad tracks on this album are. I legit don't know what I'm going to put into last place, one track has some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard in a professional song (instrumentation is ok tho), one song sounds like Highly Suspect attempting to make lounge music, and one song barely even counts as a song.

I will eat a sock if Viper Strike or FWYT isn't last or if Seratonia, My Name is Human, Little One, or Wolf isn't #1.

Viper Strike is the biggest splotch on an other wise solid album. Some of the worst lyrics ever put to song.
