Alright submitted. The first 6 songs are all very close for me, and it was tricky to pick as they're all superb songs. But despite there being a lot of good and really barely any bad on the record, I don't know if I would really call it that good of an album. Like it's pretty solid and I did enjoy it, but the album really had no staying power for me. I dunno, I guess it's kind of a junk food album, although this is admittedly pretty high quality junk food.
Still though, glad I gave it a listen, and I'd still recommend checking it out to anyone that still hasn't yet.

"Soda" is the main reason this album didn't reach rarefied territory for me. It's bad, and I'm not afraid to admit that, even as a fan of this album.
"Hell, Yeah" and "Afterlife" aren't as bad, but they are still a level below the rest of the album.

So far so good. Neither of these are memorable at all.

Wow Afterlife is this low? I thought it was a great closer and I'm surprised others didn't seem to agree.
Also Soda isn't that bad but it kind of rips off the melody of Trouble by Cage the Elephant.

That might actually be the reason some members don't like it?

Man I’ve got it perfectly right so far that’s surprising. I’d consider my top 7 songs great. These and my number 8 range from bad to very good.
Soda- It kind of rips off the melody on Trouble by CTE and it just kind of sucks. I like experimenting and they pull it off in places but not here.
Hell, Yeah- I kept expecting this song to have a big dramatic climax that would grow on me like Sorry but this just kind of flatlines.
Afterlife- Kind of a wierd note to go out on, I wanted something a little more bombastic as a finishing song, maybe if you switched this song out with Particles and put that one last then I’d be a little more forgiving.

Lots of my friends on Cymbal really liked the song and I just couldn’t get into it.

Oops missed this. Despite some standout tracks this album didn't blow me away.
Surprised that Sorry wasn't at the bottom though. Worst song on the record easily.

Get Better- Pretty good if not a bit repetitive. Pretty catchy but just not as great as the rest of the album.
Particles- Fantastic Song, killer chorus, definitely should have at least made the top 5.
Broken Machine- Another one that should’ve been way higher. The guitars on the song are great and im shocked it wasn’t in the top 4
Sorry- Seeing how varied people’s opinions were on this song, I expected it to be in the middle. It took a while to click with me but when it did, IT REALLY DID. Also the bridge of the song sounds like Smile Like You Mean It and as a Killers fan I am completely ok with that.

Top four is the right four, and I'm actually kind of glad that "Sorry" didn't make the top four. It's a good song, but not one of the best here. In fact, I considered ranking 5-8 in different spots, I like all of them about equally. "Amsterdam" is going to win this, sure, but it would be nice to see something like "Design" upset it all the same. Also, Daryl the Beryl, you might want to fix something in the spreadsheet...

"Sorry" sounds better with each listen. Too bad it couldn't make an Alt comeback.

I forgot to do this because this thread always shows up as read on my front page
also I vote for Brand New - Science Fiction to be the next album we rank, so count that in because there's a lot of support for that on the page

In a 4-way tie with 6 votes each, Death of a Bachelor wins a four-way tie with Villains, Eternity in Your Arms and Science Fiction (and that's counting Baron's vote), based on total cumulative votes. By right we shouldn't be ranking this album as it's over 18 months old, but will let this be as this will be the only time we would be ranking the album. With that said, if Weezer don't win the next round, I will remove them from the ballot as well. For the record, I didn't vote to rank this album at all iirc. Getting only 2 votes each, albums from AFI, Jimmy Eat World and Radiohead have been eliminated. As no new album have been suggested more than twice, 7 new albums enter the ballot, 1 a re-entry: A Deeper Understanding, The Stories We Tell Ourselves, After the Party, Hiss Spun, The Underside of Power, A Black Mile to the Surface, and The Spark. Album Rankdown #18: Panic! at the Disco - Death of a Bachelor

So can we rank Science Fiction for the next round, then If it gets the most number of votes. (haven't checked the cumulative yet) Both that and that Creeper album got more votes than I expected. I voted to rank Science Fiction as one of the albums to rank next for this RD, if that helps.

Well, I'm glad Miles is doing this one, because I don't particularly want to. :kii:
I'll still send in my votes for the next round and suggestions for sure, though.

Haven't done one of these before, but I'll give this a shot. Wasn't a huge fan of the album (Vices and Virtues is by far their best album) but it had a few good songs.
