This year's Grammys were a total disaster. They really need to get their shit together. The nominations don't make any sense. They need to get someone else to host. I don't know who but it can't be James Corden or LL Cool J anymore. I love Sting and U2 just as much as the next person but they shouldn't give them so much airtime when artists like Lorde are not being given a slot to perform. Even if she does do those interpretive dances or drunk aunty getting her life at church ho dancing, she should get the chance to also. James Corden makes everything feel like the Kids Choice Awards. He's better than LL Cool J but he can be really condescending sometimes. Wow. I canβt say Iβm shocked that Ed Sheeran won, and in fact, I can even forgive them for giving him the pop album one but seriously??? Shape of You winning for best pop vocal performance??? I guess I thought they were actually gonna surprise us given that Kesha definitely shouldβve won that one, even Gaga over Ed Sheeran but oh well I am disappointed that Ed got all those awards this year but I don't think he will get nominated for any more of them for a long, long time. Lorde's glare at Pink! omg! I thought I imagined that. I was like, "Did that just happen?" LMAO Lorde is mad. Didn't even clap There is a meme in this somewhere! It's the new "Not impressed." meme. Shaggy still giving me sexy daddy 17 yrs later Where? "Finesse" was amazing. Best performance so far. That was so much fun. I normally don't use Bruno but I was okay with him here. OMFG this Reba KFC commercial... I loved every second of it. Dear Miss Lorde you betta get your entitled whiny ass up when a legend like Pink hits the stage. More talented and deserving people have been snubbed in the history of the Grammy awards. I like you but in the grand scheme of things you ain't s**t. Stay humble. PREACH. Lorde will probably have to start doing interpretive dances on the subway if she doesn't. Or worse, she will have to video ho. Khalid and Khaled are 2 different people I don't like either of them. Not sure if I'm here for a countrified Tears In Heaven That was absolutely shameful. As a fan of the original song, that was not good. I feel sad for Maren being a part of that. Janelle, bitch, release new music. THIS She's too busy with her new girlfriend. ππ Kesha, f**king amazing. THE moment of the night. That was AMAZING! I was crying. f**k this Camila commercial. Ha management is really pushing this victim narrative. Canβt be mad at the hustle tho. Why do you hate her so much? Did she poop on your puppy? Did that shampoo commercial imply that Camila had a comeback? What the hell did she come back from? A vacation to Cuba? Did they take the lyrics to Havana literally? You know from all the hurting, the healing, and the loving. :sip2: LOL CARDI B She needs to host an award show ASAP YES! She needs to start doing church services. I would totally tune in every week. I can't stand Miley's ass after her reverse transracial procedure for some reason. I think Nashville just packed Maren's bags and evicted her from country music She should call up LeAnn Rimes and get some tips on how to steal some random reality housewife's husband because that will be her life very soon. Someone check Lorde and make sure she is still breathing knowing she could have been performing instead of this old classical lady. I don't care for Patti LuPone, but you will not show disrespect towards her. She is a legend. Shemar Moore is conventionally attractive but he comes across as one of the creepiest and most unaware-of-his-age people ever. Don't say that. He's a beautiful man. If he wants to buy me Starbucks or Quiznos, I'll let him. A guy's gotta eat. Bruno coming out saying "too many ballads" after Kesha did an entire Me Too segment for Praying was extremely disgusting. He must have some secrets inside his closet. #TimesUp Logic is kinda cute in a straight boy way You mean with a brown paper bag on?

I think they are literally going to have to nominate 5 hip-hop artists in Record, Song, and/or Album for us to get a hip-hop winner in one of those categories.

Honestly, I would've had no problem with any of the Album of the Year nominations winning. I will gladly take 24K Magic in that regard!
But sadly, for the others, it's 2016 with 1989 all over again, it looks like.

I canβt believe people really thought Kendrick had a chance at winning AOTY. Yes his music is really good and very much deserves to be recognized with the highest awards. BUT, we should Know better by now. 1) itβs ALWAYS an uphill battle with Hip Hop and Urban music in the general field; 2) the votingβ 4 Urban/urban-ish albums were nominated. I fully expected all of them to split votes and Lorde come out the winner. My personal top 2 picks were Bruno and Lorde. But I just knew Lorde had a really good shot at winning given what was nominated.

Damn how do you get nominated 8x and lose them all? Is that a record? Rihanna's "Anti" did the same thing last year.

Lets all be grateful that it was Lady Gaga who everyone wrote off who is shaping up to last longer than both Taylor and Katy . ππ ???????????????????????????????? Katy sure possibly.... Taylor is having an off era and has still sold a million more than Gaga. And itβs looking like Taylorβs era will Be more successful singles wise overall than Gagaβs too ? This is no shade at Gaga. I love both. But what a weird comment

Ύ I donβt like Camila bc she embodies a lot of traits that I donβt like in people in general and the ways that people work to get ahead. Same without Taylor Swift and a few others. Itβs more about what they represent. Iβm not losing sleep or seriously seething over either, but I do have to tell it like it is. Thanks for asking though. And if youβd like a long form interview, be sure to get in contact with my publicist & weβll try to find a time to squeeze you in. :)

Not impressed with the Bruno Record-Album-Song sweeps in both the general and R&B categories. The era was fun and he is an excellent musician, but the songs did not warrant that level of acclaim in a year of such boldness and innovation in the urban field. The general field voting bloc is hopelessly out of touch.
Also not impressed that Ed couldn't be bothered to attend and collect his two completely undeserved Grammys (including a televised award), while shafting a half-dozen artists who both released far superior music and actually showed up.
A hearty LOL to Portugal. The Man winning their first Grammy in a Pop category, but I'm delighted they won nonetheless - well-deserved. And I must say that I am happy with the Academy for acknowledging my favorite album of the year as Best Rock Album (War on Drugs), and for a great call on Alternative Album (The National).
The show itself was technically good but fairly unmemorable. Kendrick and Kesha delivered the highlight performances; SZA, Pink and GaGa did well, and at least Bruno/Cardi woke me up. As well-established above, entirely too many ballads.

Either they diversify their voter base like the Film Academy is doing or no matter how many people the committee snubs, the voters will still pick the safest choice available.
I like Bruno but this is his weakest album yet and title-track winning Record of the Year when it was not even the best song on the album... mess.

yay bruno. Khalid and Khaled are 2 different people While I'm shocked that this morsel of common sense would be coming from you, of all people, but...FINALLY. If I had to endure the racist misspelling of DJ Khaled's name one more time... It's kind of crazy how good Bono still sounds live. Ironically, this was actually one of my few takeaways from the show LOL. Care to name any of them? 1. Madonna 2. Madonna's crow's feet 3. Madonna's hands (egads have you seen those creatures? Not enough hand cream in the world honey) 4. Madonna's wedding dress from the 1984 VMAs 5. The DeBarges (#justsaynotodrugs) 6. all of the 80s celebs who literally did not live long enough to win the age race 7. Madonna's soul ewsnsneafnogrwngndnweot Shemar Moore is conventionally attractive but he comes across as one of the creepiest and most unaware-of-his-age people ever. You mad at that #MelaninMagic or nah? Why act 50 when you look better than most college-aged white guys? SZA hit her stride and went off! The only place she went off was off-key. Still, sad that all she got tonight was that broken throat. A Proactiv contract? For sure. I actually love old lady Lorde. I just do shade for TV! Her debut slayed. I own her new one its good but not as good. I check for her! Too lazy to go through the Melodrama thread in which you heaped praise on it, but...yeah. Anyway, my #WildThots on this Grammy show that kinda sucked more than usual for various reasons: - I'm extremely happy for Kendrick for his well-deserved awards and Kesha for her powerful statement.
- The Donald Trump insider book bit was GENIUS. Cardi B steals the show again.
- Who, other than Target, ordered this "Stay" rehash by Zedd?
- But...who ordered Dear Evan Hansen on the stage either?? Either way, he got BODIED by Patti Lupone.
- #justiceforSZAandherthroat.
That's pretty much all I got!

Bruno's sweep was obvious from the moment Despacito lost. It was the only competition in sight, so don't act surprised. They Grammys wanted to shower him with trophies for years now, and the time has finally come. If you actually know something about Bruno's appeal one look at these noms was enough to know he had no one to upset him. Gambino lost to the Weeknd so how he could even compete with Bruno.

Beyonce really had unfortunate timing with "Beyonce" and "Lemonade". There was nothing unfortunate about the timing of her self-titled release. Lemonadeβs loss made sense, as tough as it may have been. Beyonceβs loss was a big, olβ load of s**t.

OMG I never appreciated Grammys, but this year they even topped themselves - Bruno blah blah Mars is even more overhyped than Justin T, so Grammys made something really interesting this year - they made the winning artist to be hated and more hated by a lot of people, because the winning artist didnΒ΄t deserve all these awards, so I guess BrunoΒ΄s career is dead after this Grammys - bye bye. Grammys is laughable and have been for a long time!

Still canβt get over the fact that they had the whitest band from one of the whitest countries in the world do a performance beneath the Statue of Liberty in honor of Dreamers and the struggle of immigrants and undocumented citizens.

I mean I know the historical struggle with Irish immigrants, but in this context it would've been great to see a POC deliver this performance... seeing U2 was really just a huge WTF moment.

There's such a big cognitive dissonance between seeing most people say Bruno should not have swept (or even won any of the majors), while at the same time acknowledging that Bruno was inarguably one of the best three performances of the night, if not THE best by mere virtue of being the only one to perform something uptempo (honorable mention to DJ Khaled's Make-a-Wish moment with thick Rihanna - I'm still dead at that spot-on remark from Landmarx). He consistently stands out against the rest whenever he performs at an awards show.
There is a reason why voters were so eager to award him and he showed it tonight. He absolutely earned his wins even if I would have personally given ROTY and SOTY to someone else. It's just not a good look right now to keep rewarding non-black men at the expense of unambiguous minorities and women, but the old guard keeps doing it. There's really very little he can do about that except maybe wield his influence on voters behind the scenes so that it can create a positive change in a year that he's not nominated. And that's assuming his influence is that deep. I have no way of knowing if it is.
I'm also this close to placing a bet on Cardi B being the next rap artist to win a major anything. It's officially a Kendrick off-season and Drake is probably still anti-Grammy? Psh, bish better get that album out now!

Lemonadeβs loss made sense, as tough as it may have been. Beyonceβs loss was a big, olβ load of s**t. Oh, also, I am still moderately convinced that much of Beyonce's struggle is that she was up against a labelmate, and her career is in a somewhat unique place where that makes more of a difference than it probably would for someone else. So I sort of agree that she might have been able to pull off a win in another year, only b/c that would have meant being nominated in a year where she didn't have to compete for support within her own organization.
