I always wonder why Taylor is always supposed to "take a break to give people time to not see her" when artists like Drake and other Male artists release constantly and no one says anything about them being too in the public consciousness. Seems like a double standard with online writers and media. Yeah I don't get that kind of stuff. I remember people were hating on Beyonce because she overshadowed Rihanna's VMA Vanguard... like is she suppose to not give it her all to let others shine???

Seems like a double standard with online writers and media. The media is more obsessed with females so we end up seeing and hearing about them more????? I guess that makes it feel like they need a break??

Seems like a double standard with online writers and media. While there may indeed be a double standard, isn't the idea of the "break" driven by Taylor herself rather than the media? She seems pretty savvy and autonomous when it comes to her time in the spotlight. She also outright discussed the fear of overexposure in the infamous Kanye tapes.

IDSB would be a terrible single choice, especially since GC is taking off internationally

Taylor had gone toxic towards the end of the 1989 era. The breaks she took after every other album were more of a choice.
(And Drake didn't promote More Life at all; considering the rate at which he puts out music, that was a pretty big break for him).
I think they're done with this era, otherwise they would have gone with the same song for all markets.

Seems like a double standard with online writers and media. Who besides Drake is as high profile as she is though? Ed and Bruno go away between projects, that's all I can think of. And Drake is just starting to hit a sizeable backlash now. That said I do think women tend to get it the "take a break already" thing harder because they are usually much more visible since they tend to have beauty/fashion related endorsements and whatnot, so they seem more ubiquitous.

Performing IDSB seems like going backwards to me, one would think after LWYMMD and RFI that they would have learned their lesson, the public is not here for that Taylor.

I’m not really feeling I Did Something Bad as the past 4 singles of the era.

They are not going to send this to radio here or they already would have. It's weird Getaway Car was shipped internationally and not in the US but they obviously wanted to send this era on a high note with Delicate going to the top. I would have released DBM or GC but alas I don't make the decisions.

I don’t know, there could be a surprise remix planned launching at the AMA’s. Even if not, I could see a promo strategy that involves a video release and adds date following the performance. It would make no sense for her to break her award show performing hiatus for a non-single. She could easily have done a victory lap for delicate and collected some awards, but they are intentionally doing IDSB. There have been rumors that a video has been ready since before Delicate anyway.

I also think that a single push for IDSB will happen.
I just hope that she and her team plans the release of new material well. I so want her to be the ARTIST OF THE DECADE. And I hope IDSB can help her achieve this :)

That was four years ago when the public first heard it, plus correct me if I'm wrong, but the general pubic still believed then that she was always the victim, not so much these days.

The general public has never bought she was always the victim. The only time most felt she was actually victimized was with the whole Kanye mic-snatch.

Taylor's presence was definitely huge with 1989 era between interviews, performances, award show appearances, social media, huge music videos, radio play, op-eds about her, pap walks, commercials... Reputation era has been much more low-key so I don't think there's as much of a need for a break.

A bunch of box scores were released recently. The European grosses were a bit better than Pollstar's estimates but still significantly weaker than the North American dates as expected. 72k attendance per date at Wembley is huge - more than for any North American date by about 10k.
Her second highest per-date attendance is Dublin so that's good too - even if there were some empty seats, getting 133k people to show up is pretty amazing for a city of 500k (approx 1.5 million with suburbs and nearby small towns). Taylor's shows in similar sized American cities drew much smaller crowds with only 1 show, ex New Orleans, Columbus, Louisville. I'm not surprised they had to knock prices down so much to get those kinds of crowds to show up.
The Houston show looks like it's the top grossing female US show of all time with $9,530,275. The next top grossing shows were Barbra Streisand's Y2K Las Vegas performances where she did an average of $9.1m over 2 dates, with the rest of the top 5 shows (per date) being rounded out by Atlanta, Nashville and Seattle from reputation tour.
So far the tour looks on track to make $350-360m.

I’m so proud of Taylor right now. Hopefully this will shut up all the crazies who believed all those stupid conspiracy theories.

Lol cute post, good for her. She's not wrong, Blackburn is awful. I'm surprised she's still registered in TN and not NY these days.

Screaming @ her coming out at as a Democrat after she collected those republican coins on tour. Well played, sis.
