Should've submitted DBM to pop solo.

Should've submitted DBM to pop solo. Submitting a single as opposed to an album track makes sense..

Has a non single (which wasn’t popular outside of a fan base, or just mostly unknown) ever won a Grammy?

I can see her winning Pop song but that's it. She still has some competition, I can see God is a woman or New Rules getting the award. As for Pop album, I think Sweetener is the favorite to win. I hope she still gets nominated for SOTY with Delicate!

Insanely late, but my tune on this album has completely changed. I revisited the set while on a long flight, and I can’t stop going back to it now. “Getaway Car,” “Don’t Blame Me,” and “Call it What You Want” have me in their clutches.
Not sure why I ever gave her such a tough time as an artist. Might’ve been due to youth & impressionability with the internet and how often she & Carrie Underwood we’re pitted against each other as the two main women in country. Poor excuse, nevertheless, but I’m really happy that I’ve come around to her in such a warm and exciting way. She really is one of the best songwriters out there, in any genre, period, and 1989 still remains one of the best albums of this decade.

“State of Grace,” “All Too Well,” and “Holy Ground” remain that album’s holy trinity, but “I Almost Do” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” are also 🔥.

Hey, glad you came around and are big enough to admit that outside factors might have negatively influenced your opinion and reaction to her music. Not many that have always disliked her or disparaged her would be big enough or honest enough to admit that or give her a fresh, unbiased try. Also sometimes it's just we all need time to appreciate different artists and music, we grow and change and connect with different songs and viewpoints and that's one of the awesome things about life and music. So, longwinded and wordy as this was...just saying kudos and thumbs up for discovering value and appreciation where you didnt see it before. I tried to thumbs up your actual comment but didnt seem to work; thsts why I started this post which was supposed to be a simple "awesome, glad you started to like her music more!" Lol <<me shuts up

I'm not sure what I hope for from her for next album and stage of her career. But somewhere in future I'd like to see a thoughtful, older country acoustic style album from her, and conversely a 70s rock style album. That make sense to anyone?

Red, IKWYT, State of Grace, All Too Well, Holy Ground, Begin Again... Red is packed with great songs. Even the obviously manufactured pop stuff like 22 and WANGBT have their charms.

http://instagram.com/p/BpMAIhynsU4 Is she hinting at her next album being ready? Her scrabble tiles (B-I-O-I-E) add up to 7 points (aka album 7) and the look at her caption!

Taylor does love to keep her fans guessing...
October 27th is the 4th anniversary of 1989, one of the top albums of this decade imo. It blessed us with pop gold.

Last week was reputation's first week out of the top 40 of the Billboard 200 (fell to #45) and this week the album falls to #57, meaning the album spent its first 48 weeks in the top 40, with most of those weeks being in the top 30 - very impressive for any album these days, especially by a female artist. With the tour over and no new single, this album has probably seen it's last hurrah on the charts with the AMA wins unless she has a big Grammy moment. The album has about shifted about 3.2 million SPS units with nearly 2.2 million in sales and over 1 million in SEA and TEA, proving that she is indeed a powerful streaming force, even if she's not the top streaming artist. If she has another big era and reputation has some legs, I don't think 4x platinum is out of the question someday. Well done, Taylor, on another massive album!

Actually, for the sake of not bringing the IDSB thread off topic, I'm gonna move this here. I am personally bitter CIWYW never got a push, but it wouldn't be a Taylor era without a missed single opportunity, lol. Just curious, what do you think was the missed single opportunity during the 1989 era? I feel like they went with all the obvious smashes. I know people were clamouring for “New Romantics” to have a bigger push, but it got a radio release iirc. You got me. 1989 was damn near perfect. The correct singles were chosen, just not in the order I personally felt should have been selected. The glaring mistake of the 1989 era for me wasn't a missed single opportunity, but rather the opposite, releasing one too many singles. "New Romantics" should have stayed an album track. Her debut was pretty solid too. Any of the other album tracks from that one would have just been gravy on top of the flawless picks for singles. Maaaaybe "Mary's Song." But the other four albums have obvious missed singles: "You're Not Sorry"/"Hey Stephen," "Speak Now"/"Enchanted," "Holy Ground"/"All Too Well," "Call It What You Want"

Fearless; I would have replaced Fifteen and Fearless with Forever and Always and You're Not Sorry. Speak Now; I think the singles released were on point. Red; Pretty bang on, I would have preferred I Almost Do over Begin Again though. 1989; I know New Romantics was on the deluxe version, however I wasn't a fan, If they wanted to go seven singles deep, I Know Places or I Wish You Would would've been my choice. reputation; This seemed all over the place, but I would have never had LWYMMD on the album, and began the era with I Did Something Bad, followed by End Game, Delicate, Getaway Car and close it with Call It What You Want.
