Even if Taylor gets clean sweep - no interference by any of three parities (the two remaining after she was removed on Friday) and that she was groped, I doubt she'll release until after Labor Day or even October to let this cool down.

The media will be focused on case outcome and will tie it to the new release. 'Coming on the heels of her sexual assault case....' and I'm sure much more graphic using her 'my ass' quote. Even the Denver Post used the word 'ass' in headline - no 'a--'. It's going to be a tough PR period to turn the conversation on this, despite the result and her savvy team. We know how this H8-filled media works and they'll be plenty of 'capitalizing' comments too. That's just the way it is.

Worst case scenario, she'll be seen as being opportunistic, but I don't think anyone other than defensive "not all men :'( " men see Taylor as being in the wrong here. She can release tomorrow or next week or next month and it would likely be fine for the single.

Taylor has always been opportunistic, and polarizing. Some have thought she's extremely honest and true, and others think she's the definition of a narcissistic cunt. Absolutely none of that will change from the outcome of this trial (which is probably going to go her way given that the case against her specifically was thrown out) or when she releases new material. And we've have multiple mentions on this board that it's coming extremely soon.

Taylor knows how to use her polarization to her use. If you don't get that by now, you haven't been watching her for the past 10 years.

Good, happy for Taylor and for assault victims everywhere. People will still accuse her of playing the 'victim', but then that's no different from what humanity in general likes to do with sexual assault victims. Now I hope we can all put this behind us and let Taylor focus on the music!

Her privilege and intentions? Taylor was sued by the man who groped her. She did not bring this suit forward. Instead as the victim, she was forced to defend herself by countersuing and being up for public scrutiny by having to relive her assault in completely public forum. I can't imagine victim - no matter what race, socio-economic class, gender, orientation, etc. would ever choose to be forced into that position under any circumstance.

Some in this thread question her intentions with everything. When it comes to this situation I don't believe she has ulterior motives. "Regardless of her intentions" was meant to be neutral to not invite a conversations about her intentions, lol.

As to the privilege--she mentioned it. And even if she didn't it's true. VERY true.

I think the speculated release date of October 13 (at least for the album) is not happening. P!nk just announced her new CD will be out that day. Granted, two A Listers can release on the same day, and Taylor will obviously win, but I just don't think it will happen for some reason now.
