Of the songs left, two of my Top 10 are already out (granted, 3 of my top 10 were album tracks that might not even make it anyway - if we skipped over those, three of my Top 10s are out). My #22 and #30 (out of 38) are still left.

Aw, DITD is fun! I feel like somewhere in the middle is exactly where it should rank, funny that it achieved its rank due to people being on such opposite ends of the spectrum.
Let me go ahead and apologize in advance for my #32 because I know some people are going to be upset. I just never liked that song. My #20 is still in, and then everything else left is in my top 15 I believe. That's slightly surprising for me.

Au$tin ask and you shall receive 13. Born This Way
Points: 605 Average: 14.070 SD: 8.368Ah, βBorn This Wayβ. Without a doubt, this has to be one of the most, if not the most, hyped singles of all time. In 2011, Gaga was coming off seven smash singles and had become one of the biggest media icons ever. βBorn This Wayβ was gonna be huge regardless of how good it was. And itβs lucky that was the case, because reception was definitely mixed. Despite a massive debut, selling over 400,000 copies in just three days and setting a record #6 debut on Radio Songs before spending six weeks at #1 on the Hot 100, longevity was nonexistent. The Pride anthem received controversy for accusation of ripping off Madonnaβs βExpress Yourselfβ, one of just a few Gaga-Madonna accusations. Still, βBorn This Wayβ remains one of Gagaβs most remembered and iconic songs ever (and her only single to share its name with an album). As for this rankdown, it was on the right track, but itβs gotta settle outside the Top 10.Charts:Australia: #1 Austria: #1 Belgium (Flanders): #1 Brazil Hot Pop Songs: #1 Canada: #1 Finland: #1 Germany: #1 Ireland: #1 Israel: #1 Japan: #1 Luxembourg Digital Songs: #1 Mexico Top Singles: #1 Netherlands (Top 40): #1 Netherlands (Singles): #1 New Zealand: #1 Poland: #1 Scotland: #1 Slovakia: #1 Spain: #1 South Korea International: #1 Sweden: #1 Switzerland: #1 US Billboard Hot 100: #1 US Adult Contemporary: #1 US Adult Top 40: #7 US Dance Club Songs: #1 US Latin Pop Songs: #10 US Mainstream Top 40: #1 US Rhythmic: #12 3. koolthing 3. trustypepper 3. edph1 4. matteeeb 4. woods 4. YES!!! SCREW THIS SONG! SO ANNOYING! I HATE EVERY LITTLE THING ABOUT IT! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS SPENT MORE WEEKS AT NUMBER 1 THAN JUST DANCE AND POKER FACE COMBINED! Glad it didnt make the top 10. I did not like the Born This Way era at all with the exception of Marry The Night. ARTPOP was much much better.

Wow.......I'm stunned BTW isn't in the top 10. Also add that to the 3rd occurrence of Cynthia and I having ranks far apart.

I'm okay with Born This Way not being Top 10. Personally for me, everything surrounding the song and the situation of it being so super hyped up and watching every little thing about it (daily radio updates, video release, seeing it performed at the Grammys and then seeing it live in person the next week, etc, etc) made it so much fun to be a fan at that time. The song itself I would probably care less about if it came out at any other point but it marked the height of my Gaga fandom and the hype was so real. It was such an exciting time and I'm glad I got to experience it. So... yeah, my love for BTW the single is probably more sentimental and nostalgic than anything else.

Even as a general chart fan, "Born This Way" was so much fun to watch. And then after seeing that performance >>> It would probably have dropped a few spots for me otherwise.

Be honest guys though, it didnt deserve 6 weeks at number 1. Maybe 1, ok, but 6?????? Just Dance and Poker Face combined have half that in weeks at number 1.... I understood the hype, yeah, but it went on for too long. :(

Not really. I'm guessing you weren't paying much attention to the charts and pop culture in general at the time. Poker Face and Just Dance might be bigger and more beloved in the long run but Born This Way, for a brief time, was MASSIVE. I can't even overstate how huge it was. The only other major hit to come close in the last 20, maybe even 25 years imo was Hello and even then, I feel that BTW had more hype (and subsequently outperformed Hello in that initial week - Hello lasted longer obviously).

Yeah, I was gonna say, I'm always way off from most Gaga fans when it comes to BTW. We'll probably be back to similar again for just about everything else though, I think? I still have eight top 10 songs left.

Yea, I think all of that, the hype, hearing it way too much, getting sick of it, made me never like Born This Way and even after not hearing it for a long time and hearing it again, never clicked on me again at all. So yea, I guess you can say the hype did a negative affect on the song for me.

I was a huge fan of Lady Gaga's during The Fame and The Fame Monster and was one of those people who was super excited and hyped for the new single...and it just never clicked. I like the song well enough but it is very underwhelming and honestly was a huge mess. I do feel it ruined her for a lot of people and that is why the hype around her disappeared. She tried too hard with Judas and Applause to turn things around but neither of those songs, imo, were that memorable themselves. I'd love to see her come back with an album that really hits everything just right but I honestly don't see her ever doing that.
Though after all that said, how in the world is the mess that is Applause still in? I really don't understand how anyone can stand that song, it is so annoying lol. At least that is my opinion.

I remember hearing Born This Way for the first time as a radio premiere that I woke up super early for. I was kind of confused because it was so messy. At the time, that type of production on a major pop single wasn't really common. All those blips and blops. It took a bit of warming up but it quickly clicked.
I remember hearing Applause for the first time and kind of feeling the same way - except where Born This Way sounded too 'out there' in a futuristic way, Applause sounded 'out there' in that the production felt basic and thin. I warmed up to it but to a much less extend. At that point it was among my least favourite of her singles.

Wait - how do people not like Dance In The Dark? I can understand a #20 ranking for sure but of all the songs on this list, DITD near or at the very bottom?! How is that possible? I suppose some people hate chocolate, puppies and calm warm mornings too. Ya'll are monsters. And not the good kind. I love it! I like the dark, industrial vibe of the production. It reminds me of the Eurythmics songs "Love Is A Stranger" and "Who's That Girl".

"Born This Way" is great and all, but at one point I got SO sick of it that it was absolutely unlistenable for me. And it was never one of my favorite songs. Now I'm okay with listening to it again, but never on a large scale.

So 2 of my Top 10s just dropped out..? Marry the night is a masterpiece. Just everything about it. I love how in the chorus there is a soft 'Marry' in the background when she repeats that word louder. But it was clear that it's not gonna make Top 10 due to general hate here. Born this way is just iconic and will always have a special place in my heart. There is one more song in my Top 10 I will be pissed if it misses it because I totally wouldn't understand the hate for THAT song

This is exciting! I can't believe "Applause" is still in it. Not a bad thing, just didn't expect it.
I've got 9 top 10's left but I have a feeling one of them will fall short of top 10, though I would be ecstatic if it didn't.
