Am I the only one confused by the omission of Call on Me? I mean Nelly is the opener so it just seems super weird ...not that I'm complaining because I never needed it lol

Any word if βAgainβ is just a sing-a-long version, or if sheβs singing the whole thing?

The 9-track remix EP (a promo-only in the US when originally released) for The Best Things in Life Are Free is now on streaming. There are some beautiful mixes here, particularly CJ's mixes. It's great to have more of her remix catalogue on streaming.

I've never seen a Janet show before, but am hoping to see her when she comes to Charlotte next month. Seems like there are a ton of unsold tickets, so I'm waiting to see if prices drop. Excited to finally see a legend of her caliber perform, though!

Video of Janet on tour mixing Tinashe's Nasty has gone viral, 4 million views on Twitter! How demeaning and shameful!!!! The Queen of Pop covering that glorified mixtape singerβs song when it shoulda been the other way around if anything........Oh my God! π€¦ββοΈ Tinashe has sampled Funny How Time Flies on her debut studio album, was chosen by Janet to dance in the 2015 BET Awards tribute and has named Janet as her biggest musical influence in nearly every interview. What more do you want?

This is not news, but on the eve of me seeing Janet live, I was thinking about Design of a Decade. My question for Pulse's JanFam is, how would you sequence the tracks if all six singles from janet. were included? Feel free to include even more if you like (Diamonds, State of the World, TBTILAF). That's 23 hits!!

That's 23 hits!! With a Greatest Hits collection, I really like sequential order in terms of release moreso than the flow, because the whole time Iβd be thinking about each albumβs era. But of course keeping the two new tracks as bookends. 1. Runaway 2. What Have You Done For Me Lately 3. Nasty 4. When I Think of You 5. Control 6. Letβs Wait Awhile 7. The Pleasure Principle 8. Miss You Much 9. Rhythm Nation 10. Escapade 11. Alright 12. Come Back to Me 13. Black Cat 14. Love Will Never Do (Without You) 15. Thatβs the Way Love Goes 16. If 17. Again 18. Because of Love 19. Any Time, Any Place 20. You Want This 21. Twenty Foreplay

I revamped my Design of a Decade II playlist to cover "If" forward and use a similar track sequence of the original Design of a Decade. I played through it to pre-game for the concert tonight and think the sequencing works quite well! "Just a Little While" is the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb, but I think it's because that song is so loud and so different from the rest of Janet's catalog.
1. Feedback 2. If 3. Again 4. Because of Love 5. Go Deep 6. Together Again 7. Just a Little While 8. Doesn't Really Matter 9. All Nite (Don't Stop) 10. Anytime, Anyplace 11. Got 'Til It's Gone 12. Someone to Call My Lover 13. I Get Lonely 14. Call On Me 15. All For You 16. You Want This 17. No Sleeep

Y'all...I am on such a high after that show! I walked thru the streets afterward playing Janet from my phone because I didn't want it to end. The simplicity was so effective, just her and four dancers. But I LIVED for it all and ascended with the deep cuts! My only small gripe was "Enjoy" was removed from the setlist this year and that's my all-time favorite Janet deep cut, but otherwise everything was such a SERVE. I can't believe she's 58 with the way she moves and the quality of her singing voice. When she belted part of Love Will Never Do (Without You) completely acapella, I lept out of my seat! And not anyone can do the runs on "All For You" with such ease. I will fight anyone who accuses her of lip syncing because she absolutely does not. EDIT: Oh, the other minor strange thing was "Call On Me" not being on the setlist when Nelly is her opener.

How good is βTake Careβ live? Iβm worried she only does it for a few seconds.

How good is βTake Careβ live? Iβm worried she only does it for a few seconds. It was a whole moment to kick off the ballad section. Like many songs she squeezed onto the setlist, she did verse/chorus/bridge/chorus for "Take Care." If you don't care about spoilers and peek at the full setlist, every song gets its due during the show. The only songs that just get a couple lines and not a full performance are "Black Cat," "Lonely," and "Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)."

Apologies for the double post, but I did some analysis of the artists I've seen live the most times.
Janet blows the rest out of the water with how much of her catalog gets performed live.
1. Out of three tours, I have seen Janet play a whopping 41% of her catalog.
2. Marina 36% (This is b/c I haven't seen her since 2015) 3. Tegan and Sara 35% 4. Madonna 29%

I saw the show earlier this month and it was fantastic! Nelly was the perfect choice for an opener and the caliber at which sheβs performing when sheβs damn near 60 is a spectacle to behold. Age is truly just a number. Also loved all the deep cuts that snuck in the set list; I NEVER thought Iβd hear Take Care live and Son of a Gun still EATS. 10/10 show; highly recommend not skipping it if you have the chance.

The opening medley was bold and a serve! Opening with {Spoiler}Night 2 Nite SloLove Rock With U Throb All Nite (Don't Stop) before getting to actual hits the whole audience will know is something only legends can do.

"Call On Me" certified GOLD in Brazil.
Praying that she finally makes it to Brazil and Latin America to perform and tour!
