Ooooo, you have a sinister side. I love it! But, I think it would be more effective to reverse his entire list MWAHAHAHAHAHA Then his taste will better align with the general public of pulse Lol. However, in this rankdown... I don't know if that will be the case. I could see myself aligning better with the general consensus of Pulse on this one. I probably have a few of my usual 'surprises' but overall, I don't think my rankings will be anywhere near as 'opposite' as usual. Plus, my top 14 are phenomenal songs to me, so I honestly would be okay with any of them winning.

And after Big Little Town, you'll want to rank your favourite Canadians! Wait until The Perry Band has a rankdown.

I'm excited to see how this turns out because I honestly have NO idea what Pulse "consensus" is on the Dixie Chicks. Also, I legit do not hate one single song on this rankdown. This sort of surprisingly is my most favorite rankdown thus far - it's been a long time since I've revisited their music and I wasn't expecting to be at least 'ok' on everything. My #35-33 are just kind of 'eh'/don't feel that strongly about them...other than that it's kind of hard ranking things when your entire top 20 is top 10 worthy.

As a long time fan, my favorites have changed a lot over the years and I feel like most of the songs are worthy of a top 10 placement that I'm very curious to see which ones will actually make it!

I'll be annoyed if Landslide is #1 though. Otherwise, I think I'll be okay with the results (in most scenarios).
I'm betting I Hope is near the bottom.

I think this one will be a lot of fun because their last 'single' on this list was literally a decade ago now, so they don't have a real recency bias with their material like a lot of other artists whose rankdowns have been done recently, and they aren't talked about on Pulse enough for me to even begin to guess what would win this. There's probably like a good 10 or so songs I could see winning this thing, lol. Wait until The Perry Band has a rankdown. YAS! I also need an Antebellum Lady rankdown in the future.

I just looked at the ranking I sent and I would actually switch around a considerable amount of songs! LOL That's just how I am with the Chicks... I always feel guilty to let a great song at the bottom half, which is actually inevitable since all songs can't be top 10 LOL

I have no idea how this is gonna turn out, to be honest.
I'm gonna say the #1 will be any of these: Ready to Run Cowboy Take Me Away Wide Open Spaces Not Ready to Make Nice

It's tough to say and I think a lot of it depends on who's voting. Will there be a lot of fans of country music in general or will it be Dixie Chicks fans? I could see it going to Not Ready To Make Nice as the easiest guess, but songs like Goodbye Earl, There's Your Trouble, Top Of The World, maybe even Landslide could make it.

I wouldn't consider myself a Dixie Chicks fan, but I was surprised at how many of these songs I thoroughly enjoyed when listening to all of them. Several of the songs I remembered from them before I listened to these were ones that I wasn't crazy about, but there were a lot of good songs that I discovered/had forgotten existed. So I'm very excited to see how this turns out because I literally have no clue if what I like from them will be universally liked or not. I hope something in my top 6 can win though!

That song has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. "Landslide" is not really one that I see winning, because I have pretty much only seen people throw hate at it on Pulse every time it gets brought up. Which I don't really understand, because it is an exceptional cover imo! I would not be upset to see it win, but more realistically I think it will be out in the bottom half. I'm gonna give the victory to "Not Ready To Make Nice" as well, although I would love for it to be something from their debut album.

"Not Ready To Make Nice" is good and all, but it's nowhere near their strongest material and can't even BEGIN to compete with their earlier work, so I really, really hope that doesn't end up winning. I would be disappointed in that outcome, for sure.
Otherwise, like I said, my top 14 is so solid that I'd be thrilled with any of them winning.

Just FYI "Not Ready to Make Nice" is by far the best song by The Dixie Chicks in my opinion. While I do agree from a sound perspective it doesn't sound like their earlier stuff. It is by far their most personal song ever and Natalie sings the hell out of it. That second verse still sends chills down my spine.

"Not Ready To Make Nice" definitely trumps a lot of their material. Each album has a few really strong songs that I hope to see do well. I am just hoping to see "I Can Love You Better" go early. Have never liked that one at all

I am hoping my procrastination doesn't get the better of me but I'm parked in a Starbucks and working on the results!
If anybody knows how to do the closeness rankings I'd appreciate them!
Some questions while we wait!: 1. Which song do you think will be #1?
2. Which will be #35?
3. What will have the highest & lowest standard deviation?
4. Which non-single do you think will be the highest?

1. Which song do you think will be #1? I think it's between Not Ready to Make Nice, Wide Open Spaces, You Were Mine, Cowboy Take Me Away, and Landslide
2. Which will be #35? Roly Poly probably
3. What will have the highest & lowest standard deviation? High: If I Fall You're Going Down with Me, Top of the World, Some Days You Gotta Dance Low: I Hope, The Neighbor, Cowboy Take Me Away
4. Which non-single do you think will be the highest?[/quote] Sin Wagon is my guess
ETA: Totally read question 4 wrong the first time. Changed my answer, lol.

1. Which song do you think will be #1?
For #1 I could see any of "Not Ready To Make Nice", "Goodbye Earl", "Wide Open Spaces" or "Travelin' Soldier". Though I'm entirely sure what people like so I could also be completely off
2. Which will be #35?
"Roly Poly" with "I Can Love You Better" out at 34 would be awesome!
3. What will have the highest & lowest standard deviation?
highest I think could be "Not Ready To Be Nice", "Cowboy Take Me Away" and "I Can Love You Better"
Lowest maybe "Roly Poly"
4. Which non-single do you think will be the highest?
I'm gonna guess "Sin Wagon" as I think that is one of the more popular non-singles from them

I thought "Sin Wagon" was a single and country radio just outright refused to play it.

"Sin Wagon" was never released. I remember when they performed it on a award show because of how popular it was that many people were hoping that meant it would be a single but it never happened.

Lol I remember when Amy Adams (no, not that Amy Adams, but an Amy Adams 99% of you would never recall) sang this on season 3 of Idol and had to change "mattress dancin'" to "crazy dancin'" ("that's right, I said CRAZY dancin'"). So scandalous, those Chicks were! But by season 4 it was deemed ok for Carrie to say mattress. Someone joked it was b/c Carrie was so virginal that mattress dancing coming from her sounded like kids jumping on the bed. The label was supposedly terrified of that lyric and refused to even discuss it. Also, the people who owned the copyright to "I'll Fly Away" sued over DC's sample of it, so that was likely a secondary reason it didn't become a single. It ended up charting a bit anyway due to unsolicited airplay. bboat11 I think we might have to fight about I Hope. (I fully acknowledge it is a cheesefest, but it's not an irredeemable one!) ----------- 1. Which song do you think will be #1? If forced to guess I'd put a very uncertain bet on one of the following: Ready to Run, Travelin' Soldier, Cowboy Take Me Away, Goodbye Earl 2. Which will be #35? Hmm. You Can't Hurry Love maybe? Or Roly Poly. 3. What will have the highest & lowest standard deviation? Highest - based on what a few people have already said I'm thinking Landslide or Not Ready to Make Nice. Lowest - whatever the #1 song is, or one of the bottom five songs. I have a feeling that there will be a pretty solid consensus of opinion at the very top and bottom of the chart. 4. Which non-single do you think will be the highest? Sin Wagon

1. Which song do you think will be #1? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Long Time Gone will be a surprise #1 as people ranked different things high and low.
2. Which will be #35? I Hope
3. What will have the highest & lowest standard deviation? Highest: Landslide, If I Fall You're Going Down With Me, I Can Love You Better Lowest: Goodbye Earl, Top Of The World, Cowboy Take Me Away
4. Which non-single do you think will be the highest? More of a wish than a real prediction: White Trash Wedding That song is hilarious and fire, it still thunders into my head to this day.

Which non-single do you think will be the highest? Funny. I'm parked in a Starbucks waiting for you to post the results!!!! 1. I think one of the obvious ones like "Not Ready To Make Nice", "Cowboy Take Me Away", or "Wide Open Spaces" will make #1. Dark horse goes to "Travelin' Soldier". My #1 unfortunately will not make #1 I have no idea where it will place, but I think it will at least make the top 10! 2. "Roly Poly" will probably be #35. Seriously, what a dumb song title/entire premise for a song! (It is pretty catchy though, which might save it). 3. Highest: "Landslide" Lowest: "Travelin' Soldier", "Cowboy Take Me Away", "Roly Poly". 4. Definitely gotta give this to "Sin Wagon" (although to be honest their first two albums are so familiar to me that I have no idea what is a single and what is just a popular album track I was just a kid when they came out, and I played both to death with no regard for what was on the radio)

But honestly, I have no clue. 2. Roly Poly, easily. 3. Highest: Not Ready to Make Nice, Let Er Rip, Goodbye Earl, or Daddy Lessons are my guesses. Lowest: Roly Poly or You Can't Hurry Love 4. I'm not sure what are and aren't their singles, tbh, but everyone else is saying Sin Wagon, so I'm gonna go with that too.

1. Which song do you think will be #1?
A lot of people are saying Cowboy Take Me Away, which makes me wonder if that means they voted it high themselves or believe everyone else did and they themselves didn't. So that'll definitely be Top 5 at least. I'm going to say Not Ready To Make Nice and make that my final and sole prediction for #1. But it won't be a far and away winner. It's not as obvious as, say, Bad Romance for Gaga or Monster for f/Nicki Minaj.
2. Which will be #35?
Roly Poly.
3. What will have the highest & lowest standard deviation?
I could see songs like Sin Wagon, Some Days You Gotta Dance and Let 'Er Rip having the highest st.dev because I feel like they're loved by fans but not everybody knows them. Personally, neither are among my favs but when I see them in concert, they get huge applause but are never mentioned as being among their best. I'd add Daddy Lessons in here too but being the most recent song on here and also it's not a DCX song, most people probably ranked it on the low end. Lowest st.dev will go to the unanimous highs and lows. Roly Poly and I Hope on the low end, Not Ready To Make Nice and Cowboy Take Me Away on the high end. I'll also throw in Top Of The World to spread my chances too.
4. Which non-single do you think will be the highest?
I'm not really sure what the non-singles are tbh. Easy Silence might be my pick perhaps, or The Long Way Around, but I think that song was a single that didn't go anywhere. Truth #2 is a fan favourite too that might get love from here.
