So annoying. I finally got a copy of the physical (great booklet, btw!) and it's missing Paper Flowers, Like Water, and Keys from the original side and Dead End Road and Billions from the Locked side. Fortunately, when I deleted the digital version, I didn't empty the trash, so I was able to add those songs back and make a complete version, but...why Alicia? SHOOTER, did you wind up getting the CD?

What? I know rumor that it wouldn’t have those tracks and then last minute, they were included. Ugh. I don’t understand when it’s actually double discs. I’m waiting on mine to come. I was going to go to the store to pick up a copy too.

I was going to go to the store to pick up a copy too. Yeah, could definitely have fit all the songs on both discs. What kind of incentive is it to the fans to only give streamers and people who buy digital versions the bonus tracks? I didn't even realize until I looked at my phone, which has the digital version on it.

I figured the Japanese import would at the least have them, but nope, just includes "Paper Flowers." I'll probably stick with the digital version then.

She also cut Pusha out of Plentiful for some reason, yet kept Lil Wayne on Nat King Cole. MESS.

I think the “surprise” release phenomenon combined with the steaming era has spoiled artists because they know they can literally record and tweak up until the very last minute before a project gets released online. What’s funny is the album pre-order had all 26 tracks listed but the physical pressings had be ordered well in advance so she was probably forced to turn in something to meet the label’s deadline but knew she was going to keep tweaking it regardless.
The least they could’ve done is advertise the CD track list is altered but I guess it’s better than the alternative of releasing the original version of the album to match the CD first followed by some “super deluxe expanded bonus edition” a few weeks/months later like everyone else has been doing.

My copy arrived on Friday. It was sitting in my mailbox smh lol. Anyway, I guess it makes sense some tracks will be left off, which should entice people to stream. I highly doubt I’ll even play the cd. Now I’m curious because I want to hear Plentiful without Pusha.

I don't trust anything that is reliant on a strong phone signal or Wi-Fi, LOL. As for Plentiful without Pusha...it's just blank space.

Finally made it through the album the other night with some candles lit, just chilling in my apt with a blanket. I need to give it at least a second listen but I want to think hard about which version I would keep to make one cohesive album. Some of the Unlocked versions were not it, especially the butchery which is "Daffodils (Unlocked)"

I really love the original versions of the songs, there are so many beautiful ballads on there. Seriously one of the best albums of the year.

I've been listening to her new album again and I'm enjoying it soooo much more than her last three albums! Girl On Fire, Here, and Alicia were sooo UNEVEN! This one definitely feels more like a cohesive body of work. I love how the new album has more of a jazzy/Sade feel to it. It kinda feels that Alicia has returned to her old form (Songs In A Minor/Diary). My faves are Skydive, Lala, Best Of Me, Is It Insane (Unlocked), Old Memories, and Love When You Call My Name.

Yes, it’s shame this material will go to waste. I feel Skydive Unlocked is that one! It needs to be a single. Love the production.

Keys is such a conceptual failure for me, I have a hard time fully getting into it. I'm an album person, I want to press play and be taken there. I don't want to have to curate a playlist or skip around to enjoy something. There's definitely a solid album in there though.

Some of the "unlocked" versions (Best Of Me, Skydive, DAFFODILS, Love When You Call My Name) were completely unnecessary, while some of the original versions (Nat King Cole, in particular) could have been replaced with the unlocked versions and the song with Khalid and Lucky Daye deserved better than being relegated to what should been an EP, at best.

Alright, work was getting on my damn nerves, so I ended up taking all the tracks and sequencing my own version of the album, lol. The way so many of the songs fade and so many start with intros makes putting things together without being jarring fairly easy (I wonder if that was intentional). Either way, I'd give this a solid B+.
1) Plentiful (Originals) 2) LALA (Unlocked) 3) Skydive (Unlocked) 4) Best Of Me (Originals) 5) Dead End Road (Unlocked) 6) Is It Insane (Unlocked) 7) Come For Me (Unlocked) 8) Love When You Call My Name (Originals) 9) Billions (Originals) 10) Nat King Cole (Unlocked) 11) Only You (Unlocked) 12) Old Memories (Unlocked) 13) Like Water (Originals) 14) Daffodils (Originals) 15) Paper Flowers (Originals)

I circled back to this album and finally made a playlist keeping only the Originals or Unlocked versions I actually like.
Originals: Daffodils, Billions, Nat King Cole, Plentiful, Paper Flowers, Like Water Unlocked: Skydive, Dead End Road, Love When You Call My Name, Keys, La La, Come for Me Both: Only You, Best of Me, Old Memories, Is It Insane
