I realize I'm beating a dead horse, but humor or not, I have never taken well to anyone/anything that uses the word 'gay' as a put-down in any way shape or form. I don't even appreciate it when other gays do it. Call me sensitive, but to this day it makes me cringe. Trust me, I'm one for a good joke and believe I generally have a good sense of humor but for that fact alone that song has always been a turn off for me.

I never found USG particularly offensive, but as a straight I don't think it's really my place to definitively say that it's not. I never thought it was offensive, nor did it ever occur to me until this rankdown that anyone would think it was. It's incredible how many people miss the humor and take the song so literally. I just think the song is juvenile and awful piece of dreck, is all. "Juvenile" could describe plenty of Katy Perry songs: ones that a lot of you like, and ones that actually are awful pieces of dreck (including one song in particular that will likely win despite being utter trash). USG commits the cardinal sin of being juvenile and sounding bad to me. But FWIW my bottom 10 songs are fairly interchangeable for similar reasons - cruddy writing is forgivable, cruddy writing combined with weak melody or production is not. Just thinking of USG makes my ears hurt! I'm sorry, I just can't think of anything redeemable about that song; it's like a dogpile of 'what ways can we annoy the crap out of cynthia in less than five minutes.' I'm sort of surprised to get two of my bottom 10 songs out so soon, though. There's one song in particular that I almost ranked last out of sheer spite for it, but didn't and I feel like it will be a long while before we see it leave.

When Katy was on the rise, I was aware USG existed but didn't really seek it out. The first (and last) time I heard it was when I saw her live and it didn't stick with me then. As for how offensive it is, I mean, I guess it depends on who you ask. If she had a song about a white guy doing stereotypical "black things" called You're So Black, would that be fine?

Maybe we can just acknowledge that some people find it offensive and some don't? Like it's fine if you don't, but as someone who cringes at the phrase "that's so gay" being thrown around loosely for no reason other than to implicate a negative reaction to something, I can see why it can be considered offensive. Personally though, like @antigonerising, I just find the song to be mediocre and useless to me regardless, so I just can't be bothered to care that much about if it is or isn't offensive.

Haha my english ain't perfect either! I often go back and forth between posting and not posting in some threads but in the end i'd just say f**k it and be it At least I'm not the only one Perfect bottom 3. I don't particularly hate any of the songs on the rankdown but these three are aggresively mediocre or a Holiday song, a genre I don't particularly enjoy unless it's the classics.

Darn, was hoping Ur So Gay could escape the bottom 6. Oh well. I understand where the distaste for it comes from, so I'm okay with it.

"Dressin' Up" is a song by American singer Katy Perry from Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (2012). It was written by Perry, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Monte Neuble, and Matt Thiessen, and produced by Stewart and Kuk Harrell. Musically, "Dressin' Up" incorporates the styles of electro and dance-rock, along with a prominent electronic dance production. "Dressin' Up" was not good at all. Only "Milk Milk Lemonade" was far worse. That is a Bella Thorne level abomination.

"One of the Boys" is a song performed and written by Katy Perry. The song appears as track one on Katy's studio album, One of the Boys. The song is about Katy's longing to be more feminine. Perry performed the track live all throughout the Hello Katy Tour and during the opening night of the California Dreams Tour. CHART RUNS ERROR 404 This is just ok.[2]

34. Ur So GayNot really surprised. I'll admit to not being offended one bit. I'm from the 80's/90's and that phrase was pretty much used on a daily basis, but I guess times have changed. Orange is the new black. 33. Dressin' UpThis has a nice pop rock vibe to it. Almost anything with guitar gets some sort of love from me, but I still couldn't put any higher than #15. 32. One Of The BoysI'm not surprised I put this one the highest. It gave me early Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato vibes and I really liked her vocal fluency throughout the song. The guitars works, added a little punch that is absent in Pop music now a days. I'm guessing the higher you rate this song; the older you are?

"Peacock" is a song by American singer Katy Perry, taken from her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010). Because the song was filled with suggestive lyrics pertaining to male genitalia, Capitol Records initially opposed the idea of including it on her record. Similar to what happened with another song of hers – "I Kissed a Girl" (2008) – she refused. One of the boys grew on me and jumped up my list as I listened repeatedly to the songs on the countdown. So I'm not surprised it's overall ranking is low as I also had it low initially.

"Rise" is a song by American singer Katy Perry. She co-wrote the song with Savan Kotecha and its producers Max Martin and Ali Payami. Capitol Records first released it on July 14, 2016, as a standalone single. "Rise" is a mid-tempo electronic song with lyrical themes of victory and rising above one's opponents. Although "One of the Boys" could've made it higher imo (not that I ranked it high), I think the rest went out at an appropriate range. "Dressin' Up" is horrible (not a big fan of the lyrics or the melody), "Peacock" isn't really good either (It's a fun song but still bad), and "Rise" is just boring.
