"Take Out The Gunman" is one of Chevelle's better songs, but I'm generally not a fan of them. Their music just doesn't do much for me. "Out of the Black" is great, but so is their other song in the rankdown. I think "Figure It Out" will win. What on Earth do people like about it tho? Is it the lyrics? Genuine confusion over here. lol. Personally, Michael Poulson has some of the best rock vocals I've heard. His voice just soars on some of these songs, and it sounds epic. There's a nice driving feeling to it (and many of their songs) that creates a feeling of urgency. Also, I like the lyrics on this one and the whole concept was pretty unique. I'll just accept the fact that I'm in the minority as far as this band is concerned

You all know what I'm going to say next. I don't have to do it again at this point.

Starset is so average and barely distinguishable from a lot of the acts on this list.

Amazing top 3. "My Demons" is just fantastic. When done right, rock mixed with electronic can be absolutely euphoric and Starset nailed it here.
Love both songs in the top 2! I'd personally give it to Seether, but I think Royal Blood will win.

This looks like the same scenario as last time: my #1, the winner of the Alt rankdown, places second, with another song I ranked high taking the crown.

WOW! "Words As Weapons" actually won! I'm thrilled!!! It's a phenomenal song. Glad one of my top 10 made it!
I do really love "Figure It Out" though. I love Royal Blood's sound.

Wow, what a surprise! Lol is it really not one? I thought Royal Blood was the holy grail of bands on Pulse so that's why I just assumed one of their songs would win haha.

Triple post lol but here's me getting caught up on what I missed: "Coconut Dracula" is good. Shows how much I love this year/Active rock if I like a song that I ranked 71. "Torn To Pieces" has a fantastic melody and I'm pleasantly surprised it did so well. I ranked "Can You Feel My Heart" too low probably. I do like it okay and BMTH, but I think the songs that were more melodic vocally took over lol. "End Of Me" is really great, but feels a little underwhelming somehow. But the melody is very good. The chorus/vocals on "Trainwreck 1979" is horrendously annoying. "Cry of Achilles' is great but I definitely prefer "Addicted To Pain" I always like FFDP songs more than I think I do when I listen to them. "Battle Born" is no exception. "By And Down" bored the f**k out of me. "Tired" is great but Stone Sour has even better. "Hunter" is a decent song, but there has always been something that has truly prevented me from enjoying the bulk of Chevelle's material. I like "Sirens" but it's like a really weak version of "Black", which remains one of my favorite songs of all-time. "Come With Me Now" is a total jam! Love the melody, instrumentation, and vocal arrangement. Lol I thought "Romantic Dreams" was already out it's an okay song. I've always really loved "Guilty All The Same" but it can tend to get long. "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" is good, but not great. Wouldn't go out of my way to hear it.

That wasn't even close - nobody ranked "Words As Weapons" below 50, that's incredible. Apart of me was hoping "My Demons" could sneak in and win it just for the sake of being different, but I don't object to WAW taking another tournament.

I'm not the biggest Seether fan, but WAW was alright. I'm a bit disappointed that Royal Blood didn't win though.
Great rankdown, and I'll definitely be back for the next one!

I would have been a tad bit disappointed had "Figure It Out" won. Great song, but if a Royal Blood song was to win it, "Out of the Black" all the way.

LBTRocks sunk Lola Montez so hard - if he had ranked it #50, then it would have been in 4th, and #40 would have brought it to 3rd. With the top 6 so tightly packed, that one outlier ruined it.

Highest i've ever been on the STDEV charts.
LBTRocks might have finished in not-last if it weren't for those Volbeat rankings.

15. Tired - Stone SourThis sin't a bad song. I actually like the Power ballad vibe of it. I liked everything from my 60s up. To me there were 57 better songs to choose from. Now if this had this been "Absolute Zero", that #53, might have been a #35. 14. Hunter Eats Hunter - Chevelle I won't rank it high just because it's Chevelle. They are hit or miss for me. This was a miss. 13. Sirens - Pearl Jam One of their best songs ever. Loved the ballad aspect of it. 12. Come with Me Now - KONGOSI'm no where as obsessed with this song as listeners seemed to be that year. Just because it had some accordian action. anyway. Expendables >>>> This song. 11. Romantic Dreams - Deftones Yeah this one doesn't work for me. Shouldn't surprise anyone. It's known I'm not a big Deftones fan. 10. Guilty All the Same - Linkin Park f/ RakimI think I ended up ranking this higher on the Alt rankdown? 9. I Don't Want to be Here Anymore - Rise AgainstGreat song. Not their best, but great song none the less. 8. Room to Breathe - You Me at SixThis did very little to keep my attention. The guitars or more dear to me ; than this band's vocal tones. 7. This is the Time (Ballast) - Nothing MoreI really enjoyed "Mr. MTV" ,but this one didn't work for me at all. If you look back at this song's thread; you'll notice I was never a fan. The heaviness is about all liked from it. 6. Lola Montez - VolbeatA really great showing for this song. This is probably my favorite ,song, by this band. Sounds like a great Arena rock song. 5. Take Out the Gunman - ChevelleAn Amazing hard rock song. Love the intro the best. It really pulls the listener in for the kill.(no pun intended). 4. Out of the Black - Royal BloodI wonder if members like these or their newer songs best? The one that really blows me away, is that brand, spanking, new one. 3. My Demons - Starset I put this one the lowest. basically It lacks guitar and sounds pretty boring. Basically; I just didnt like this song at all. 2. Figure It Out - Royal BloodUp until "I Only Lie When I love You"; was released, this was my favorite song by this band. I would have preferred seeing this one at #1, just for the surprise effect. 1. Words as Weapons - SeetherI actually really like this song. I consider it a decent Seether song. I'm not surprised it's the #1 song, but I am surprised ,that not more of you didn't, put it at Your own #1.

I'm really happy with WAW.
How are the chances of the other big Seether singles? Country Song, Remedy, Fake It, Fine Again, etc. Are they even liked here?

I figured, but I was surprised that it wasn't a surprise It won the Alt rankdown of the same year, which shocked everyone. It winning this Rankdown is far less surprising after that result happened. In fact, the only surprising part of WAW winning is the amount of points it finished ahead of #2. Kind of amazing that Seether won both Rankdowns for 2014. Not the song I would have chosen for that distinction, personally, but worthy all the same.
