Pulse Rankdown: 2013 Year End Alternative Chart

HERE'S THE SPREADSHEET WITH ALL THE INFO ON THE RANKDOWN!

1) PM me the top 100 Alternative songs of 2013, all ranked to your preference. (e.g. if you like a song the most, rank it the highest and vice versa).
2) The points a song has will be totalled up based on an inverse point system. So if you rank a song #100, it gets 1 point, and if you rank a song #1, it gets 100 points. All the points from the participants will be totalled up.
3) The due date for submission is June 11 18, Sunday, 10PM Eastern Time. (may extend to 1 week later if that isn't enough time for you guys to listen to the songs you're unfamiliar with)
4) ALL songs must be ranked.

Spotify playlist: (a few songs are geo-restricted but you should be able to find them on YouTube)









5) All your rankings will posted when I post a song in this thread.
6) For reference, here are the top 100 Alternative songs of 2013. The top 50 is from Billboard, the other 50 is compiled by me. Like in the last game, I'm excluding a few songs because they were in the 2014 rankdown/ will be in the 2012 rankdown, so that we can rank other songs. They also crossed over to 2014 or have peaked in the 2012 chart year. 2013, the year I joined Pulse. Also the year I started following Alt after Lorde blew my mind. A lot of these songs I haven't heard of before.

Just sent my list. Going through this list, I've come to realize that 2013 Alt sucked a lot more than I remember. I think I'd only give my top 34 over an 8/10, 35-77 even blander than the middle of the pack of most alt years, and everything 78 on ear grating and annoying.

yeah this year is fantastic imo, couldn't find too many tracks that I outright hated. There's a few I have to listen to and re-listen to, but so many great songs on the list!

Also, I agree that 2013 is a pretty good year. I'm struggling to put together a top 10 because there are so many qualified songs.

so I recognize about 30-40% of the list but damn are there some good songs on here. "trying to be cool", "out of my league", "trojans", "inhaler", "my number", "come a little closer", "get lucky", "take a walk", "carried away", "reflektor", "chocolate", "lessons in love", and "closer" just give a bunch of examples. 

 probably will try to get my list started my the weekend tbh

Most of the better stuff imo is at the bottom half of the chart, so more likely than not, I'm gonna flop in the closeness rankings for the year-end chart.

I don't know if Deftones will ever have a single as good as Tempest. I was worried Koi No Yokan wouldn't live up to Diamond Eyes but when Tempest dropped that was a gamechanger. Blew my mind a million times.

But then there's Royals....and the greatest indie pop song ever...

Just heads up, but I hated "Radioactive" with a passion. Maybe even more than that Mackelmore crap. I'll most likely sandwich; "Radioactive", right inbetween two of Mackelmore, songs. topped off with some Avicci sauce.

My #1 is not my favorite song (my favorite is #2 on my list so far), but it's a great song and probably the song that needs the most points in my opinion.

Hard to believe Soundgarden, Deftones and A7X went top 20 only 4-5 years ago.*

* - Hail to the King was a mid-week top 20 on Mediabase.

Also, I think this will be the first time a pop crossover wins an alternative rankdown, though I could be proven wrong. There's one song I foresee taking it all, but it has its haters here as well. If that song doesn't win, a dark horse will probably win.
