Surprise! Kicking off the top 15 is the last song from Tim' Sundown Heaven Town album. Many of you thought this was going to do better than this. Indeed, 7 people lose a top 10, including 5 top 5s! Personally I think this song is amazing, but he just happens to have 35 songs that I think are more amazing, so it looks like I'm one of the lower rankings despite me actually loving this one quite a bit... #strongsonglistproblems

I remembered there being a song or songs that Tim wanted released as a single that actually got released as a single, but I totally forgot it was "Drugs or Jesus"! I take back what I said about the single choice now that I feel bad having said that.

Anyone who was surprised about "Diamonds" getting the ax at #15 is going to be even more shocked by this next reveal! Pretty much everybody thought this would be a lock for the top 10. In fact, this song was the first song trending at #1 for pretty much the entire first half of the submission process!

I was fighting mad when the low votes started coming in, tanking it completely out of the top 10, as this is one of my favorite songs of all time, and literally has no flaws...

I think the chorus to this song is absolutely perfect. When I think of a quintessential chorus for showcasing Tim's voice, this is what immediately comes to mind. He does such a good job vocally with this song! Literally my only complaint with it is that there are only 2 choruses rather than 3... Which means I just have to listen to it multiple times to get my fill Also, the production and instrumentation is absolute ambrosia! I cannot get enough of that falling steel guitar after Tim's last vocal line, and then suddenly the whole band enters as a huge wall of sound. One of my all-time favorite musical moments.

The thing is, there are not even that many low votes for this! That is how intense this competition is leading into the top 10...

Another one of my all-time favorite Tim songs, gone too soon :( Actually though, I am very impressed with how long this one lasted! Almost making the top 10 is just about all I could have asked for in a rankdown as overall strong as this one is, with lots of people who like so many other songs too! This song is absolutely beautiful. One of the best armed forces tributes I have ever heard, told from such a unique perspective. I mean, a soldier speaking from the grave through a letter that he asked his buddy to send if he wouldn't be making it home? No wonder this went on to become a top 3 hit. I did get super tired of it when it was a hit, contributing to my apparent low ranking of it, but I still absolutely love this song!
