I love Rihanna and all but I find it kind of funny how people are already predicting Wild Thoughts to be YE Top 5. This isn't the biggest hit since 'Hello'. It won't even debut in the Top 3 so where do your suggestions come from? At this rate - no. Because it was released 6 days ago and nobody knows what it will do on the charts. It's #2 on iTunes, #5 on Spotify and rising fast on Radio but it's not a monster hit. Tbh, I don't think it will hit #1.

It appears Wild Thoughts will have a strong start on radio, unless there's a large Friday rollover correction, that is.

I'm predicting a loss of 15 million or less for Wild Thoughts Saturday.

Will 'Wild Thoughts' break the 'One Sweet Day' record and spend 17 weeks at #1?

I predict it will break the "Starships" record but not the "Needed Me" record.

What's the Needed Me record? Most weeks between 6-10? Or 7-10?

What's the Needed Me record? Most weeks between 6-10? Or 7-10? It peaked at 7 but technically she holds both. Officially it's most weeks in the top 10 without reaching top 5.

Oh ok. Thanks. I know the one Kelly Clarkson song spent a good amount in that region but can't think anything else that came close

Off the top of my head I believe the next longest after Kelly would be Team by Lorde which spent 14 weeks in the top 10 with a #6 peak.

I know the one Kelly Clarkson song spent a good amount in that region but can't think anything else that came close Lorde, Maroon 5, and Kelly Clarkson are behind Rih with 14 weeks and 15 weeks respectively. It's interesting tho, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Don't Wanna Know, and Team peaked at #6, so they barely scrapped the Top 5, yet Needed Me has the record with 16 and only hit #7. Strange.

Will The Cure, Heavy, and The Fighter have enough momentum to make the YE?

I remember Billboard making an article about songs that spent the most weeks in the Top 10 without hitting Top 5 back when "Needed Me" broke that record. I decided to search for the article and found it. Here's a link: www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7511240/ask-billboard-rihannas-quirky-record-in-the-hot-100s-top-10-withThere's a list of songs that spent at least 12 weeks in the Top 10 without hitting the Top 5, so I'm just going to copypaste that list here but am also adding "Don't Wanna Know" which was after they made this article: Weeks in top 10, Title, Artist, Peak Pos., Peak Date16, "Needed Me," Rihanna, No. 7, July 2, 2016 15, "Behind These Hazel Eyes," Kelly Clarkson, No. 6, June 11, 2005 14, "Don't Wanna Know," Maroon 5 feat. Kendrick Lamar, No. 6, February 18, 201714, "Team," Lorde, No. 6, March 15, 2014 13, "Home," Phillip Phillips, No. 6, Jan. 19, 2013 13, "I'm Yours," Jason Mraz, No. 6, Sept. 20, 2008 13, "The Way You Love Me," Faith Hill, No. 6, Jan. 13, 2001 12, "Me, Myself & I," G-Eazy x Bebe Rexha, No. 7, March 12, 2016 12, "Demons," Imagine Dragons, No. 6, Dec. 7, 2013 12, "As Long as You Love Me," Justin Bieber feat. Big Sean, No. 6, Sept. 29, 2012 12, "Tubthumping," Chumbawamba, No. 6, Nov. 29, 1997 12, "I Wanna Be Down," Brandy, No. 6, Dec. 31, 1994

How would you Rate Redbone's chances to crack the top 10 next week?

Ridiculous that NM never cracked the Top 5. It's one of Rih's biggest and well known hits.

Oh right, Don't Wanna Know also spent 14 weeks. I like to forget that thing exists.

Needed Me was powered mostly by streaming, it didn't do that well in other components so it was not able to crack higher spots. Anyway, for me it's not one of her well-known hits but mostly because she has a ton of hits in her discography
I think Needed Me's 'record' will eventually be broken given how stale chart movements is these days so I could see more songs getting stuck in the 6-10 range more often

The #1 song of 2016 on both Urban and Rhythmic radio. It also went Top 15 on Pop while TIWYCF was smashing at #2.

Not really. Only reason Desperaciti is a hit is because of beiber. It'd be out of the 100 if not for the remix. That is true for the first week or two after the remix came out which exposed the song to more people 6 weeks in to its #1 run, the song itself, still being #1 has probably more to do with the song than who got added to the remix But it would never have been a hit without Beiber. So anything that comes after the initial few weeks is still due to Beiber. The point I was making was in reference to Latin music being prominent on the charts... but without Beiber Desperaciti gets no airplay.

Needed Me kind of got stuck in the mid-summer rush, as much bigger hits like Can't Stop The Feeling!, Ride, Cheap Thrills, etc, were all making a bigger impact. The song was huge, biggest urban hit of the year and #13 biggest song of the year overall, it just didn't have enough momentum to get past those much bigger hits. Then of course Closer came in and everything was over.

Idk what's going on with Katy Perry and the radio right now. Katy Perry used to be the radio's darling and Chained To The Rhythm did pretty well, so why is her newer singles not making a large impact? Swish Swish is doing, okay I guess, but definitely not good for a KP track. And we all know what happened with Bon Appetit.
I'm struggling to figure this out, is it just because she isn't promoting the songs well enough or radio is just sick of her? I don't know.

Radio picked it up solely cuz of Beiber. 100% only reason it went to #1 is Beiber.

Even if it's standing on its own now, which I also don't disagree with, it didn't get here on its own.

I see a Top 5 debut on the horizon.
