Shape Of You could totally pull this off. It got a total breather with the collapse of I'm The One. Even if Bieber pushes it back to 10 there's gonna need to be another song to take over and that might not happen. Although Praying did go to 24 this week and that wasn't even really taking into account the album boost. Does 24-10 seem realistic for the impact of the album for a single that was already making gains or is that out of question?

So Praying could make the year end, right? Sorry Not Sorry has a chance too.
What about Logics song. Its been in 60s to 40s for a while. What odds does it have of making it?

Yeah, I just don't see how WT could take over Despacito for another 3-4 weeks until both are falling down the top 10. Bieber releasing his song on Thursday is the best possible news (especially halfway through the day) for Despacito's try for the record, especially if it goes to Itunes on Thursday. Week 16 could be close, but losing the first day of spins/streaming/sales in a full week will probably really help Despacito.

All signs seem to point for Praying being a hit, so it looks likely for it to making it. Sorry, Not Sorry needs to either keep gaining or continue to stick around the top 40 for a good while to make it. Only way the Logic song makes it would be if it hits the top 40, otherwise it ain't happening.

I just don't if it's gonna happen next week or the week after. Also, BLABR is falling slower than SOY (like 0.5%), so it can outlast Ed's song next week. Should be a really interesting battle for #9 and #10. According to simm's predictions there's a huge gap between #17 and #18, so it's gonna be hard for Kesha to reach Top 10.

#11: Good riddance to see this leave the Top 10. NEVER RETURN!!!
#21: Still hanging in there, this should have no problem making the Year-End list at this point.
#24: This one, however, did get a nice jump, and it's only gonna get even more traction next week off of the album boost, but fingers are crossed that it'll be enough. Then again, Side To Side and Starving made it last year with 11 and 15 weeks respectively, and this debuted higher than either of them, so it SHOULD be fine. Let's hope.
#30: Seems like rock music is finally making a resurgence!
#43: This will go up even higher with its video.
#50: WHO CAN RELATE? WHOOP! (That's a good question right about now.)
#88: Doubt this will be a hit but hey, at least it's picking up a little.

Versace on the Floor finally released its music video! I hope it helps since airplay is dropping now. I'm hoping it reaches top 20 at least! It's interesting how having a hit no longer ensures major artists can get another big hit behind it. We've seen Adele ("When We Were Young"), Ed Sheeran ("Castle on the Hill"), Katy Perry ("Unconditionally"), and Fifth Harmony ("All in my Head") struggle with second singles in recent years despite their lead singles being big hits. Other artists from Justin Bieber ("Company") to twenty one pilots ("heavydirtysoul") and now Bruno Mars ("Versace on the Floor") have had major drop-offs with a single following multiple hits.

I think we have also been seeing cases of acts being lazy and failing to promote their songs - maybe counting on their popularity and previous success? Perhaps they feel like they can just send a song to radio and ride the success of the previous hit, but we've seen that's not a garantee. Fifth Harmony promoted Work from Home heavily and got a big hit. They performed All in my head then week the album was released but when the song actually started taking off they never promoted it again. I don't remember Adele promoting When we were young either. Versace on the Floor was released three months ago and only now we're getting a video. Was it even performed anywhere besides the Billboard Awards in May? It's like they're not even trying!

It could be a combination of a couple factors. Songs already available that are released as singles months after their parent album is released aren't auto-hits the way they used to be because of sales and streaming. Radio may still jump on board these songs and push them to respectable peaks but when streaming and sales don't support them in the same way they did first singles, there's only so far they can go. It's almost as if having an album works against earning additional hit singles from said album.

Yeah, songs like Castle on the Hill and, to a lesser degree, Versace on the Floor got a lot of attention before they were actually released as US singles. By the time they were promoted to radio they had already sold a lot and gotten a lot of streams. I don't think the Chainsmokers, for example, would have gotten the same amount of hits if all of them were released on a single album at the time Roses or DLMD became hits. There are other cases like When We Were Young and Unconditionally where I could argue that they just picked the wrong single. Both of those albums had better, more radio-friendly choices (and that's probably a fact considering the following singles became #1 hits on Pop and top 10s on the Hot 100). You could say stuff like those two, or Rihanna's You Da One, or even Bruno's Gorilla, would have actually done worse had they not been following huge hits. I don't recall heavydirtysoul getting much of a push, not even an adds date for radio, so I wouldn't put it in the same category as the others.

Imo if Adele sang When We Were Young live on an awards show it would have blown up like Someone Like You did. I think WWWY is an incredible song just didn't get the right promotion. .

www.yahoo.com/music/chart-watch-despacito-ties-macarena-204800699.htmlChart Watch: 'Despacito' ties 'Macarena' record, but gets no VMAs loveby Paul Grein Yahoo Music August 14, 2017 Records are made to be broken, but I figured “Macarena” would always be the longest-running No. 1 hit sung primarily in another language (Spanish). Los Del Rio’s single was a phenomenon in 1996, topping Billboard‘s Hot 100 for 14 weeks. But this week, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” (featuring Justin Bieber) equals its stay at No. 1. The two records are very different in character. “Macarena” was practically a novelty record, the soundtrack to a goofy dance craze. “Despacito” is a more credible, mainstream pop/Latin crossover hit. It has a good chance of landing a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year. (“Macarena” wasn’t nominated in any categories.) By logging its 14th week at No. 1, “Despacito” also ties Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!” (featuring Bruno Mars) for the longest run at No. 1 by any single so far in this decade. However, the video for “Despacito,” the most-viewed clip in YouTube’s history, won’t be up for any accolades at Aug. 27’s MTV Video Music Awards — because, according to an MTV statement provided to the Associated Press, it “was not submitted for consideration.” The hit song’s video has actually not aired on MTV or MTV2, though it had been played on MTV’s Latin channel, MTV Tres. The network’s spokesperson did not explain why MTV has not played “Despacito” on its main channel, but noted that the song (not the video) will be nominated in the VMAs’ “Song of Summer” category. That category’s other nominees will be officially announced the week of Aug. 21. (“Despacito” recently made chart history as the most-streamed song of all time.) “Despacito” this week becomes the second song to top the 2 million mark in U.S. digital sales in 2017. The first was Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” which is up to 2,303,000. It sold 82K digital copies in the U.S. this week, which puts it on top of Top Digital Songs for the 15th week. That’s the longest run at No. 1 in the history of that chart (which dates to October 2004). You may remember that DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One,” which also features Bieber, interrupted “Despacito’s” reign at No. 1 on Top Digital Songs for one week. Thus, this is the 16th consecutive week that Bieber has been featured on the week’s top-selling digital hit—an unprecedented occurrence. If “Despacito” stays on top of the Hot 100 for two more weeks, it will tie the 1995-96 Mariah Carey/Boyz II Men collabo “One Sweet Day” as the longest-running No. 1 hit in Hot 100 history. Top SongsDJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” (featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller) logs its fifth week at No. 2. The song includes a prominent sample from Santana’s “Maria, Maria” (featuring the Product G&B), which logged 10 weeks at No. 1 in 2000. Will “Wild Thoughts” also reach No. 1? Probably — but will it hold off long enough to let “Despacito” tie “One Sweet Day”? Stay tuned. French Montana’s “Unforgettable” (featuring Swae Lee) holds at No. 3 in its 18th week. Imagine Dragons’ “Believer” inches up from No. 5 to No. 4 in its 27th week. Charlie Puth lands his first top five hit as a lead artist as “Attention” jumps from No. 7 to No. 5 in its 16th week. Shawn Mendes’s “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” jumps from No. 8 to No. 6 in its 16th week. Bruno Mars’s “That’s What I Like” drops from No. 4 to No. 7 in its 31st week. The song hit No. 1. Cardi B lands her first top 10 hit as “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” jumps from No. 14 to No. 8 in its sixth week. Cardi B is the first female rapper to reach the top 10 with her debut Hot 100 entry since Iggy Azalea scored with “Fancy” (featuring Charli XCX) in May 2014. Cardi B got her big break in 2015, when she became a regular cast member of the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York. Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” holds at No. 9 in its 31st week. The song logged 12 weeks at No. 1. The song is one of only four singles in Hot 100 history to spend 31 or more weeks in the top 10. It follows LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live” and The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” (featuring Halsey), both of which spent 32 weeks in the top 10, and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!” (featuring Bruno Mars), which spent 31. DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One” (which features Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne) drops from No. 6 to No. 10 in its 15th week. The song hit No. 1. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” drops out of the top 10 this week. The smash tops Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart for a record-extending 27th week. Calvin Harris lands his ninth top 20 hit with “Feels” (featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean). Harris has been the lead artist on eight of his nine top 20 hits. “Feels” jumps to No. 1 on The Official U.K. Singles Chart, displacing “Despacito,” which held the top spot for 11 weeks. It’s Harris’s eighth No. 1 in the U.K., Williams’ fourth, Perry’s fifth and Big Sean’s first. Glen Campbell’s sublime version of Jimmy Webb’s “Wichita Lineman” was his top-selling track in the week that he died. It sold 11K copies. The single rose to No. 3 on the Hot 100 and was a 1968 Grammy nominee for Record of the Year. The rest of Campbell’s top five tracks in the week of his death: “Rhinestone Cowboy” (10K), “Gentle on My Mind” (8K), “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” (5K) and “Galveston” (5K).

Or if Adele released a MV for WUTB it would peaked at #1 A video and grammy performance would of sent that song to #1, no doubt. It was already burning up pop radio for months, even with only a #26 peak. What a wasted opportunity though, Adele probably could of got another #1 or at least a Top 10 if she actually started caring about her singles.

I think a lot of people forget that One Sweet Day got the benefit of the slow chart over the holiday season when nothing really shakes up. 16 weeks is 16 weeks without a doubt, but I'd argue that summer weeks are more impressive due to over-exposure.
