Aside from You (Which is a guilty pleasure), I haven't heard any of the other songs. No problem saying goodbye to them.

"If you're going to leave me Don't hesitate, don't believe me Just say so, just say so"RELEASED: April 9th, 2010 'Just Say So' was released as the lead single from Brian McFadden's third studio album 'Wall Of Soundz' in 2010, debuting atop the ARIA singles chart and spending three weeks at its peak. It is his second Australian #1 hit following 'Almost Here' his 2005 duet with Delta Goodrem. The song features production by Kevin Rudolf, who was given a named credit on the song. While Brian himself is Irish, the song is recognized as an Australian single by ARIA because Brian was signed to Universal Music Australia at the time. The album and its further singles did not live up to the chart performance of 'Just Say So'. MY THOUGHTS: I liked this song when it was released, and I still do - but I don't think it's aged particularly well and I'm not much a fan of Brian in general. This being credited as an Australian single by ARIA is my only real justification for including it, because otherwise it doesn't belong here at all. With that in mind I think it's fitting the song went out this early. "So we're going our separate ways No, I won't make the same mistake You don't have to worry 'bout Valentine's Day My birthday or our anniversary"RELEASED: June 4th, 2010 Scarlett Belle were a short-lived and embattled pop duo; starting as a three-piece outfit, the group included Tamara Jaber, Reigan Derry and Hayley Aitken. Tamara and Hayley had already been in the music industry for several years, with Tamara originating from Scandal'us - the band formed during the second season of the hit talent show Popstars - and from her own attempt at a solo career in 2005. Hayley Aitken had a failed attempt at being a teenaged pop star in the early 2000's as well, with Reigan the only newcomer to the scene after coming up through Australian Idol. The three-piece were signed in America to Def Jam, but the group was dropped in 2008 and Hayley departed. 'Closure' was the debut single from the remaining duo, but the song failed to catch on. Follow-up singles were also unsuccessful, and an album was never released before the group split up. MY THOUGHTS: This song is forgettable, and Tamara Jaber is like Nicole Scherzinger without the persistance (in that she keeps trying, but not nearly to the degree Nicole kept trying to make her solo US career happen). I'm perfectly okay with this song being fodder for an early departure. Reigan is yet to come as a solo artist in this rankdown, while Tamara will appear again in future installments of the ARIA Assortment both as a solo artist and in Scandal'us. Also, IDK where the music video for this went, I can't find it on YouTube unless it's been geo-blocked here (which makes no sense as their other two music videos are still available). "I don't want to say goodbye I just want to give it one more try And I'd do anything, yes I'd do anything If you'd only let me"RELEASED: June 19th, 2012 Karise Eden was the inaugural winner of The Voice here in Australia; she was one of the first people to show up in the Blind Auditions, and the moment she opened her mouth it was all over lol. She made such a strong impression on Australian audiences that she quickly became the front-runner and nobody stood a chance of catching up. 'You Won't Let Me' (originally by Rachael Yamagata) was released as Karise's winner's single following the show. Karise logged four top 5 debuts simultaneously that week, with three performances taking the top 3 spots (including her sole #1 hit 'Stay With Me Baby', featured as an honourable mention earlier) while this song got stuck at #5. Since its success was so heavily tied to the show however, it did not experience great longevity. MY THOUGHTS: Let's be fair; Karise's voice is NOT a pop voice. It lends itself well to soul music but it's not one you'd hear on your local pop station. I'm happy for Karise for her win, but I don't care for this song. Sarah De Bono was always my favourite from the final 4 in the debut season, plus Ben Hazlewood came from the same crop so. "I've been waiting for all my life Now I'm ready, ready machete Watch me fly"RELEASED: June 29th, 2012 Following on from Karise Eden's first song of two departing comes Sarah De Bono's offering. This was released as Sarah's debut single shortly after Karise won The Voice, when the other three top 4 finalists all released their debut albums and singles. Presumably, all four finalists prepared albums and winner's singles ahead of time, and whoever won would have theirs released first. While these albums all went top 10 upon release (Sarah's charted at #7) this was the only non-winner's single to crack the ARIA top 50 - and barely, at that. Slightly confusingly, a shorter edit is the version that appears on the album while the single version is full length (you'd expect this to be the other way around). No music video was released for the song, just a lyric video (which is geo-blocked). MY THOUGHTS: I'm alone on this one lol RIP. As I said in the previous reveal, Sarah was my favourite of the final four that season, and I bought her album when it came out (even though it was a standard winner's album featuring studio versions of the songs they performed on the show). I'm sad Sarah never caught on, because I think she had the most potential to be a pop star out of the final four. "Hold on, hold on, hold on to threads of silence Hold on, hold on, hold on to threads of silence That lead me to your door"RELEASED: June 3rd, 2013 This song was Karise Eden's second single, which she premiered live on the second season of The Voice. Again being tied to the show, the single's success was short-lived, scraping the top 20 and disappearing quickly from the chart. The song was used in promo spots for 'Underbelly: Squizzy' ('Underbelly' is an Australian true crime drama, with season 6 focusing on Squizzy Taylor, a notorious criminal from Melbourne). It was presumably intended to be the lead single from Karise's second album but when 'Things I've Done' was released in 2014 the song did not make the final tracklisting. Juan Carlos bids farewell to his #80. MY THOUGHTS: I'm a little bit salty about this actually, yes I said before Karise does not have a pop voice, and I do think her unusual voice made her inaccessible to some of the participants here but this is a good song and Karise sounds great on it. I was hoping she could do a little better but oh well. I had both Karise songs back-to-back. Both had the same opinion from me: her voice is nice for what it is, but it's not for me.

Let's close up this set of reveals with a couple more honourable mentions; these songs, for one reason or another, were not included in the final selection. "Baby, no way Watch me while I do my thing Oh, baby, no way Are you f**king with the team?"RELEASED: March 18th, 2016 Originally intended as the lead single from Iggy Azalea's sophomore album 'Digital Distortion', this song was a commercial failure on Iggy's home turf, barely scraping the top 40 and suffering from a short shelf life. The song saw greater success in the US, but even then after the heights of her debut era the song was still a relative flop. Follow-up singles 'Mo Bounce' and 'Switch' were deliberately mis-managed by Iggy's label, and were both failures prompting Iggy to leave Def Jam and scrap 'Digital Distortion'. Due to its nature as an international single (from an artist with major name recognition on Pulse) the song was not included in the final song selection. MY THOUGHTS: I think this song is just okay but it never really grabbed me the way 'Fancy' or 'Black Widow' did. I don't think it would have fared too well on my list. "That's the way it's gonna be, little darlin' We'll go riding on the horses, yeah yeah Way up in the sky, little darlin' And if you fall I'll pick you up, pick you up"RELEASED: May 6th, 2013 'The Horses' is a song written and performed by Rickie Lee Jones on her 1989 album 'Flying Cowboys'. It was covered by Australian singer Daryl Braithwaite in 1990, with his version becoming a #1 hit. It has since become a classic Australian hit, making it prime fodder to be brought out for talent quests. This is exactly what Michael Paynter did when he performed it as a contestant during the second season of 'The Voice'. His performance reached the top 10 on the iTunes chart, and (since sales of the studio versions counted as votes) its strong digital performance helped Michael advance into the live finals by public vote. The song also became his second entry on the ARIA singles chart after his top 20 hit 'Love The Fall' featuring The Veronicas (that song is coming up later in this rankdown). MY THOUGHTS: Had I decided not to cut 'The Voice' performances from the final line-up obviously I would have included this in the list lmao. That said, Michael's 'Voice' performances are not my favourite things he's ever done. He picked Joel Madden as his mentor and Joel is a f**king idiot lol. Joel had no idea what he had, and played favourites with his contestants while giving Michael crap song choices that didn't work for him. I would probably have given this a high ranking just for being Michael Paynter but otherwise this is just meh. (I'll add in an upload of the studio version later) PARTICIPANTSAz PaynterBenoBillie@antigonerising DistrictTwelvemaineJuan CarlosLeo βNormiwillapted33THE PEANUT GALLERY@walker9 @jamesflame Mylo13 π

"We had school ties, the sky and the hilltops Now we're all grown up and it's still about hip hop I love it, I love it"RELEASED: November 25th, 2011 'I Love It' was released as the lead single from Australian hip hop outfit Hilltop Hoods' sixth album 'Drinking From The Sun'. It features Sia providing the hook and additional backing vocals. Released right as her mainstream career was blowing up with 'Titanium' and 'Wild Ones', the song became Sia's third local top 10 entry and Hilltop Hoods' second. Three separate music videos were produced for the song, but due to Sia's decision not to appear on camera in any of her videos (due to her anxiety issues) she is not featured in any of them. MY THOUGHTS: I haven't gone out of my way to listen to this song, I know about it mainly because her international career was blowing up and I heard the song used on TV in an ad once. Again, it's a little disappointing to see Aussie hip hop out early but I'm also not as invested in this song as I was 'Impossible' by 360. maine #18 willapted33 #27 Az Paynter #43 DistrictTwelve #49 Billie #60 Normi #61 Beno #63 @antigonerising #73 Leo β #76 Juan Carlos #78 THE PEANUT GALLERY@walker9 @jamesflame Mylo13 π

"I know you're lying to me 'Cause your palms start to sweat And your knees are getting heavy"RELEASED: April 23rd, 2010 'Lying' was the second single released from Australian pop-rock band Amy Meredith's debut album 'Restless'. It lands them squarely in one-hit wonder territory, as their only top 50 entry peaking in the top 10. Other singles from the album only made it as far as the 60's, while the singles from their second album failed to chart, and neither did the album. The band has been inactive since 2013 and it is presumed they've split up. MY THOUGHTS: I really only knew of Amy Meredith because I'd heard of their debut single 'Pornstar' (lol) so when researching local chart entries for this game I saw this song and included it for a little bit of diversity from all the pure pop music one could expect from me. I guess I can see why it was popular for a brief moment but otherwise I don't really feel much of anything for this song and I also see why the band never made much of an impression. "I am a blizzard, eh eh, so don't get in my way I keep on blowing 'til there's nothing left in front of me You wanna take my crown, but I'm invincible You are a venomous snake, but I'm a warrior"RELEASED: September 27th, 2013 Havana Brown released 'Warrior' as the second single from her debut album 'Flashing Lights', and it was the first single from the album to chart in the top 50 after the title track peaked on arrival in the upper 60's. 'Warrior' was also the first single from the album to receive a music video and a promotional push. It is her second biggest hit in Australia after 'We Run The Night', and her third top 20 single. The song is also Havana's fourth #1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart in the US. MY THOUGHTS: I do like this song, but as far as singles go I did prefer 'Flashing Lights' and it's a shame that song didn't do anything. I also wish Havana had attempted to push this song in the US after the success she had with 'We Run The Night' (or any song really). I do find the drop annoying though, which I presume had to play a major part in why this got so many low rankings. "What I really wanna say to you right now Shut your mouth and let the music speak out loud I'm just looking for a good night"RELEASED: September 27th, 2013 Reece Mastin was the winner of the third season of 'The X Factor' in Australia, and 'Good Night' was released as his debut single following his victory. It became the fastest-selling digital single for his label, Sony Music Australia, and spent four non-consecutive weeks atop the chart. It is also the first #1 single from an Australian X Factor winner. The song is notable for it's striking resemblance to Pink's 'Raise Your Glass'. MY THOUGHTS: I don't like Reece Mastin lol, I don't like his voice and I'm not here for this Pink rip-off. If you like it, good for you - but I'm not sad to see this disappear. "She workin' like murder on the dancefloor I'm watchin' this thing I've never seen before Hold up baby, whatcha doin' to me? How could you shoot me and just walk away?"RELEASED: March 23rd, 2012 Australian singer/dancer Timomatic (birth name: Tim Omaji) signed a deal with Sony Music Australia after competing in both So You Think You Can Dance AUS and Australia's Got Talent. 'If Looks Could Kill' was the second single released from his self-titled debut album and was also the second top 10 hit of the record. Two further singles were also top 20 hits, and the album also performed well. Preceding single 'Set It Off' will appear later in this rankdown. MY THOUGHTS: Whyyyy? :'( This song is a bop, I originally had it in my top 10 but it got bumped a few spots after I re-did my list. Still, I love this song and it hurts a little that it's out this soon, AND before 'Set It Off'. At least the bromance remains alive? Thank you James. :'( Sucks a little that the video is geo-restricted, but the Aussie labels suck so...
