I wanted to apologize for tanking "Girl Crush" and "Stay", even if I wasn't necessarily the lowest ranker in both cases. I think both of those were odd single choices that evidently worked in both LBT and Sugarland's favors. I appreciate the sentiment behind both songs and understand the appeal for each, though. Both are odd choices...risk is apparently part of the fun. I'm so NOT an LBT fan...their song choices, as a rule for me just blow chunks despite their monumental talent. Karen Fairchild reminds me of a young Grace Slick. Girl Crush really features her talent. "Stay" is a remarkable song...and not at all a safe choice. It's not my favorite Sugarland tune by a long stretch, but Jennifer Nettles nails the emotion.

Follow Your Arrow - How did this happen? I was sure this song would make it into top 5... I even thought it could win. Anyway, it's a great song.
Before He Cheats and Jesus, Take The Wheel are my favourite Carrie Underwood songs. I can't really decide which one I like more but they both ended up where I ranked them.
This Kiss - this is one of the songs I liked even before I knew that country music exists as a genre. It's one of the few country songs that my local radio station plays and I get super excited every time this happens (I'm not sure how my neighbours feel about it though).
-------------
My remaining ranks: 2,3,6 13,18 26,30 51,54 74
If I Die Young needs to leave asap. Other than that all the songs are at least good. I'm very pleasantly surprised that LAW has 2 songs in the top 10. And she is not overrated... not even a little. I would say that in general, she is more underrated than overrated and I'm glad that she is doing great in this rankdown.
I expect and hope that Independence Day wins!

I'm definitely pulling for "Independence Day" now as well. Not that I don't like the other songs left, but I would love to see that one take it.

I love “My Church”, but I don’t think it belongs in this group of iconic songs. I think it’s still alive solely based on being a recent favorite. Would’ve loved to see “Burning House” in the top 10 instead, even though it is also recent, I think it is a much better song.
I’m really surprised “I Hope You Dance” made top 10. Overplay killed it for me back then. I can realize it is a great song though and it was overplayed for good reason.

I am so happy to see Deana still in this <3.
I think Suds or Whiskey Lullaby will win! I Hope You Dance is my guess for #10!

"Suds in the Bucket" is iconic as fuq and should've totally been nominated. I'm glad Sara at least got one song nominated for the award.

Yeah, "Suds" should have TOTALLY been nominated here. "A Little Bit Stronger" as well. Considering the impact and critical acclaim of both, I can't believe that they weren't! Although if they had been, I wonder which two songs currently in this top 10 wouldn't have made it?

Well, I got a perfect ranking. I wouldn't have been mad to see this go higher though. :(

Well, I still have a chance of getting a perfect ranking if my #1 wins this rankdown, although it is not likely...

The only great song from them. They clearly relied too much on this when they tried to transit to pop later.

A great emotional track that probably wouldn't be a hit in today's climate (see Tin Man).

OMG! This top 10 is going just swimmingly so far! Both of the songs that I thought were #1 contenders but have never been among my favorites were eliminated already! The way that Kacey and Miranda usually dominate in rankdowns, I thought that "Merry Go Round" and THTBM would put up more of a fight!
Honestly, now that those two are out, I am a little bit more confident in "Independence Day"'s chances... Although "Strawberry Wine" is a definite contender as well! If those aren't the top 2 though, I will be shocked...

Lee Ann's songs are either too unknown (IMHMITM) or too polarizing (IHYD), Brad's song is great but I don't see it generating the same level of passion as some of the others, and Sara might not make it just because enough people think she's overrated. Martina's has the best mixture of being well-known and also well-loved, so normally I think she would beat Deana easily, but this is without a doubt Deana's biggest and most well-known hit, so I don't think her relative obscurity will hurt her in this case. I'm thinking it's a toss-up between them! But Martina might also have a bit of an overrated sentiment working against her, so I think I will also give Deana the edge just to avoid getting my hopes up
