I am so enamoured and captivated by her. Her music is by no means my favourite. Although I do absolutely love a small handful of her songs, it’s generally not my taste. That being said, I think she’s wildly talented. There are so many different dimensions to her, her music and her artistry, and I enjoy not knowing what I will get next from her. She seems like she has a really great head on her shoulders and to have so much going for her at just 19 is really spectacular. She also uses her huge platform for good by advocating for important things. Seeing a young woman recognise this and using that power for good is inspiring.
I really like her and I am excited to see what comes next for Billie.

And she had previously set this record when she posted the first picture with her blonde hair. She broke her own record—that’s Taylor s**t. Billie is a LEGEND in the making; and the streams of this album, dare I say, will perhaps leave even Adele shook.

"Lost Cause" is out. Yet another “sing just louder than a weak whisper” song that goes nowhere

I'm concerned about the album. I have only loved "Therefore I Am" out of all her recent material :( and WWFAWDWG was my fave album of that year.

Yeah, I stanned hard for her EP and debut album, but TIA is the only thing I've loved as equally as those. The other tracks are fine, I've saved them and occasionally listen to them, but they just don't hold a candle to her previous material. It's so weird.

It kind of reminds me of Beyoncé‘s sophomore album B‘Day. It also followed an immense success (although one could argue Bey was more a single artist back then) and had a lot of goodwill coming from it. The first 2 singles (Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm) didn’t exactly set the charts on fire, and it dropped out of the top10 by week 4. Only when Irreplaceable smashed and became her biggest hit, the album regained some traction.

Looking at the Spotify numbers, those old songs are insane considering they never really charted. Can’t help but think she’s killing her momentum lately

I guess I'm an outlier because I'm loving the new songs Billie has put out (My Future is kinda meh). I'm glad she's not sticking to the same sound as her debut ep/album. She's showing growth which is what we should want from an artist.

No offense but Lost Cause is just as boring as the last of her songs. Can she stop with this whispering? I'm tired of it. Plus for her for not going in easy, poppy sound but please add some fire to those singles.

Im actually enjoying the recent output more than her EP/debut. Love My Future especially. From the looks, album cover and some of the tracks, I thought we were getting a kinda 1960s retro vibe but Lost Cause feels just like that TBH. If anyone is familiar w Nellie McKay, I thought she was going in that kinda direction but this seems a little all over the place sonically.

Ha sorry, you misunderstood. There is def no 60s sound to Lost Cause…I meant “just that” being that the song is a lost cause lol.

Maybe it will be a "Lover" type situation where the first few singles are concerning, but the album turns out to be super solid overall and much better than what preceded its release.

This is what I'm choosing to believe because "Therefore I Am" is on this album afterall. There's gotta be other tracks similar in vibe.

So, apparently people are angry at Billie for “queer baiting” because she said “I love girls” in an Instagram post? Or is there something else with this?

People were also angry at the apparent 'queer baiting' in the music video, when it's literally what young women tend to do in sleepovers together. I had issues with Dua Lipa on "Prisoner", but "Lost Cause" was just innocent fun. It seems like folks are grasping at straws to find reasons to hate on her. Very predictable from certain bitter crowds...

It’s frustrating because people often get criticized for “toxic masculinity” and stuff while being straight for being afraid to do certain things that might come off as gay. And then someone simply proclaims “I love girls” and now they’re “queer baiting”? What if this was her coming out? Or what if she just loves girls for being friends with them? It’s like, we want people to stop being afraid of possibly appearing gay while straight and stop with the gender norms, but we criticize them when they do. One stop forward two steps back.

It's just the bitter and bored terminally online Gen Z crowd trying to find a reason to be angry. It'll all blow over in a day or two when another celebrity declares they love tuna or something and they get cancelled for supporting some evil CEO in a tuna canning company or some bullshit.

Honestly, I get the concern for her boyfriend's old tweets, and of course the unhealthy age gap between them. Just remember how fans helped Demi Lovato dodge a bullet after uncovering tweets from their clout-chasing ex.
However, predictably, this current mess isn't out of genuine concern, but to join a hate train against Billie - taking advantage her current musical output has been unpopular. Billie doesn't need to be 'held accountable' for bigoted tweets her boyfriend wrote while she was still a child. For all we know she's probably unaware of this, and might confront him after finding out. Blaming her for his past behaviour is so regressive, and as hypocritical as the users 'cancelling' her while proudly having a Nicki Minaj profile picture.
To make matters worse, there are people claiming Billie allegedly used a racial slur against Chinese people in a video and mocked their accent, but it's purely word-of-mouth as far as I know, and nobody is providing any evidence to support such a vile claim. Not the first time I've seen folks inventing stories to further drag celebrities they don't like.
Anyway, this shouldn't last for too long, I believe, and hopefully Billie won't give in and apologize for the "I love girls" caption. Most pathetic controversy of the year - no doubt about it.
