ATGGHTH doesn’t translate that well live but it wasn’t ever one of my favorites to begin with. I was hoping she would’ve performed i love you but that is probably best saved for the Grammys.

I can barely understand a word she’s singing... I blame the AMA's not muting the crowd. I could actually hear her on the live videos people took inside the venue, but the crowd's annoying screams drown her out on TV. The song sounds better acoustic IMO: |

A deluxe edition isn't going to render the standard obsolete. You can still stop the album at "goodbye" if you wish. No one is forcing you to purchase or stream this new version.
As for the "they're old" comment... Yeah, so was "you should see me in a crown." Her debut EP was redone twice. "Bellyache" and "Ocean Eyes" were added mid-release week per fan request. "&burn" was added several months later. This is nothing new or gimmicky for her.

I think the deluxe is more so to get a good amount of holiday sales out of the album. With the added tracks, there's more of an incentive to purchase the album.

Obviously I appreciate the value of good marketing (since it's what I do for a living) but when tracks are tacked on at the end of an album like this, it pulls the marketing angle of it right through the artistry side of it and kind of upsets that balance. Granted, this is assuming the three new songs are added in after the "goodbye"? I haven't seen the order. It does matter though. Also, I was wondering why everyone was talking about Van Halen on Twitter. I guess Billie said she had never heard of them before and people are on her for it? |
