Did 'New Rules' benefit from the new rules of cutting streaming points? If they didn't cut Despacito's streaming points, maybe Despacito is still #1 at this point.

I'm not sure. New Rules was #2 on sales (below What About Us, but above Despacito), but only #4 on streams (where Despacito kept the top spot). It was probably pretty close but Despacito would have probably kept #1 with the old rules.

Two songs have dethroned Despacito since they started cutting it's streaming, Wild Thoughts and Feels, and both did it only because of the new rules, as Despacito was still #1 on both sales and streaming on both weeks.

At least it's making the UK charts move faster. I wouldn't hate some sort of change to the Hot 100 formula soon-ish.

Uhm..tbh lots of people won't even be able to see a total eclipse anyway because of the path it's taking across the US.

Then on top of that, people like me will be stuck in their offices under artificial lighting when it actually happens.

Or the time they changed the BB200 rules to allow the Eagles to debut at #1, blocking Britney Spears from the top spot.
