I must be the only person to not think Taylor will be debut at number one Omg same haha, I'd honestly be pretty surprised if that happened. At the same time Despacito is beginning to fall and Wild Thoughts and Money Moves aren't crazy strong but...idk I just don't see public embracing the new song enough to send make it debut on the top. Female pop stars are struggling right now, there's been somewhat of a Taylor backlash after last era, and even if she puts her music on streaming she probably won't pull massive streaming numbers, which are too important now. Not to mention I hear she's going to do an Apple exclusive which will hurt her streams in the beginning

I must be the only person to not think Taylor will be debut at number one Well, it likely won't debut #1 because it will have a few days of airplay that could lead to a low chart debut. The question is more if it then moves to #1 the next chart week when downloads and streams kick in. I think it might take a couple of weeks, I hear she's doing an Apple exclusive

That is really low for Bieber. I thought 2U was a fluke (David Guetta lead), but I guess his hot streak is weakening? I think it would help if he didn't have someone unknown on the song

New Taylor Swift single out Thursday! www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/7941019/taylor-swift-reputation-new-albumTaylor Swift Reveals New Album 'Reputation' Coming In Nov., First Single Out Thursday8/23/2017 by Joe Lynch It's really happening. After the long wait and numerous snake-related teases, Taylor Swift has confirmed her new album, Reputation, is coming Nov. 10. But fans won't have to wait that long to hear new music from the pop queen – the first single drops Thursday (Aug. 24). Swift also revealed the album cover art via Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 23). Even though it's been nearly three years since Swift's 1989 -- which won the Album of the Year Grammy -- she hasn't been a stranger to the charts. Her 2016 Zayn duet "I Don't Want to Live Forever" from Fifty Shades Darker peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, just one spot shy of becoming her fifth No. 1. But with anticipation building for a new Taylor Swift single since she wiped her social media accounts last Friday (Aug. 18), could this new single become her next No. 1 -- potentially unseating the historic No. 1 run of "Despacito" from Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber? We'll have to wait and see.

Will that be in time to block Despacito from week 16 at number 1? Or will it be competing for the #1 two weeks from now?

Will that be in time to block Despacito from week 16 at number 1? Or will it be competing for the #1 two weeks from now? It will need to sell historic numbers on the first day as that is when the tracking week ends for sales. (Airplay and streaming go to Sunday) So week 16 still looks good Whatever it sells Thursday though will not count towards week 17, so week 17 will be brought down a bit by the decision to release early (just like last week with the 'Friends' song)

Alright I really wanted Tay to debut at #1, but since she got other priorities, I'll be cool with Despacito breaking the record

Whether she climbs to #1 next week will depend on how good the song is.

Taylor would need better day 1 sales than Hello to debut at 1 this upcoming week. I fully expect it's second week at 1 though

Depacito week 17 thing is a coincidence

This is probably the best news possible for those who are hoping Despacito breaks the record. Taylor losing her first full day of sales/streaming can only increase the chances of being #1 for a 17th week.

Demi's Sorry Not Sorry is top 5 on iTunes and still top 10 on Spotify. Airplay needs to pick up though, I hope it can eventually crack the top 10 soon Louis Tomlinson's Back to You in on the rise on Spotify, maybe just an iTunes discount away to potentially get a new peak. That would be cool seeing three One Direction members in the top 15 together again (especially since those three can be considered the three least popular of the group). I wonder if we will ever see a point in the future where two or more (or even all five) will share the top 10 again, as solo acts. Also, Taylor said tomorrow at midnight so I assume she means Friday 25th of August 00:00

Telling people it's releasing on Thursday and then releasing it Friday morning is a head scratcher if that's what it really is. It honestly isn't going to matter since it's going to be a huge first week regardless.

39 Versace On The Floor 107 (-6) Noooooooooooooooo :( I was hoping Versace on the Floor will be a top 10 hit as well but it's looking unlikely airplay and sales are not good. That's What I Like is still strong as well At least it made top 40.

It is cool they are all finding success as solo artists.

She probably said Thursday because 12am Friday is still Thursday night psychologically for most people, and in earlier time zones it will still actually be Thursday night, but all time zones will count towards Friday because they go by EST.
I wonder how much airplay she'd need to debut this week? Probably a lot, at least like 30-40 mil, since streaming increasingly takes up a larger portion of the formula. She might not be able to debut on airplay alone, in which case we're looking at a #1 debut next week.
