And speaking of down tempo tropical house, that I actually like...
16. Sorry by Justin Bieber
YE position: #2
Not gonna lie here, I think this is the best Justin Bieber song ever made. I highly doubt you will find a better song made by this douche and a half. I know that this seems like an insincere apology, but I can't really justify myself to hate him on this track. I feel liek everyone finally got a well-deserved "Sorry" from this guy, and if this is his apology, then I accept. The production is catchy, and amazing as well, I guess Skrillex can do good when working with Bieber than doing dubstep. Whatever the point may be, this song is his best by far.

I'm a motherfuckin' starboy baby alright!
15. Starboy by The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk
YE position: #58
Everyone has already praised this song to death, and I think this is one of the best off of the album. The production is great, as most Daft Punk produced songs are, and The Weeknd is just amazing in this song, how he's just spitting words like fire. The chorus is great, the bassline is near perfect, it's a great song. It's not the best by either artist, but it's a damn great song, and for a #1 hit I'm sold. Unfortunately, the rest of the album wasn't like this, still solid song though.

Here's some more Coldplay for ya!
14. Hymn For The Weekend by Coldplay ft. Beyonce (SeeB Remix)
YE position: #73
If we're discussing which version is better, the original is better, no contest. I'm sorry, but I just like the Indian vibe that this song has going for it, whereas the SeeB remix just makes it more watered down EDM, and we've had enough of it this year. One thing that does keep this out of the top 10, is Beyonce, and how they just relegated her to backing vocals. Seriously, Beyonce had probably the best album of last year, and it seems she hasn't been doing that well to maintain any sense of dominance on the charts, and has been forced into the background as well. But still, the pre-chorus and the harmonies between Chris Martin and Beyonce are overall, fantastic, the chorus is pride and truly great, and honestly, I prefer Coldplay's more pop side then, well whatever those rock posters keep clamming on about. Still, one of Coldplay's best songs, and probably my favorite Coldplay song this decade.

I'm sorry people, I've lied to you for too long.
13. One Dance by Drake ft. WizKid & Kyla
YE position: #3
I used to really hate this song. I hated it because I thought it was cool to hate on Drake and everything about Views. But, oh my God this production is just amazing! I don't know why I hated this song, maybe it had to do with the tropical house production, and the fact Drake is on auto-pilot this whole song. But that guitar and production is just... superb. All I needed was one dance for me to like this song, and I got it.... at my high school homecoming dance last year. Oh well, I guess one thing did come out of my senior year that I enjoyed, I finally learned to stop hating this song. Still didn't stop me from hating every other song they played that I still cannot stand though.

12. Hello by Adele
YE position: #7
This song is still a masterpiece of a song. Adele sings beautiful, I love the emotion and the piano is amazing. The chorus is great, and I love just about everything about this. I am so glad this debuted at #1, and that the album, 25 broke the most albums sold in one week, a record originally held by No Strings Attached by NSYNC. Adele, you said hello, and we welcomed you back, please make a new track that slays everyone soon.

The best disappointing song about disappointment since Dancing On My Own. (No, not the Calum Scott cover, that song is hot garbage)
11. I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner ft. SeeB
YE position: #15
Without SeeB, this song and Mike Posner would be nothing. Up until this song's release, everyone knew him as that one guy from that terrible song back in the heyday of 2010, and he was basically a one-hit wonder. Now, nearly 6 years later, he makes a song about how depressed he's become and how he "took a pill in Ibiza" and how no one should be high like he was all alone. It's a sad and depressing song about something that actually happened and I totally feel bad for the guy. I'm glad that this was bigger than Cooler Than Me, because this is his best song ever, and SeeB did wonders to make this a hit. The production isn't the dreary folk from the original, it's more EDM, but it's actually the good EDM that we got in 2016. I hate to say it, but Mike, we welcome you back to the top 5 with this masterpiece.

Into You for 10th place or riot. :) Guess what, your both wrong!
10. Just Like Fire- P!nk
YE position: #33
This is one of the most overhated songs of the year, along with another song that received bad infamy for all the wrong reasons. I get it, it's a self-empowerment anthem, and apparently that's a bad thing now? Seriously, I feel like critics are just going after empowerment songs because they know their lists are getting too boring and predictable every time they put a terrible urban song on their list, so they want to add some variety. Honestly, I'll take a self-empowerment anthem for a Disney soundtrack by P!nk than Shakira's song Try Everything for Zootopia. The guitar is amazing, it's P!nk's most upbeat it's been in a while, and I don't mind the "rap breakdown" at all. Much like Shake It Off and Fight Song (Oops, spoiler alert) I find myself loving this song more than I should, but that's why I love it, I'll take this over most other songs any day.

Wait, we actually had a lesser known European artist(s) crossover in the U.S.? FINALLY!!!
9. Never Forget You by Zara Larsson ft. MNEK
YE position: #46
Finally, a Eurodance, EDM track finally cracked the top 20, there's hope for you yet America!! This song probably has the best drop of the year, it starts off amazingly well, the beat is almost EDM perfection, the vocals clash amazingly well, I just really love this song's production. I've heard rumors that Euro pop and dance had gotten better since the 2010s, and this is the definitive proof of that. I just wish that Zara Larsson and MNEK had a more established career in the U.S. because Lush Life, It Ain't My Fault and Symphony wrongfully flopped here in America when they should have been hits, especially Lush Life. Ugh, whatever, at least we got one EDM hit from Europe crossing over making it big.

2016 was the year of The Chainsmokers, as they had 3 top 10 hits this year. And guess what, all three of them landed in my top 10 here!
8. Don't Let Me Down by The Chainsmokers ft. Daya
YE position: #8
Yep, I don't hate The Chainsmokers at all. Ever since 2015, I've always had this fascination of how they went from #Selfie, to where they are now, as serious artists. Well as serious as you can when pleasing a younger millennial audience that is. But still I think they've improved much since #Selfie, for one this song is not some joke song like #Selfie was. Second, the EDM is amazing, the drop is near perfect, and the horns are great. And thirdly is the lyrics and Daya herself, Daya may be a poor man's Lorde, but she just sells it here, her best work to date. And the lyrics are some of the best of the year, it's her asking this guy to not let her down and how she needs him right now. On a lyrical basis, this is one of the best songs in terms of lyrics. But, you ask, 'why is this only #8?' Well Jimmy, it's because I found 7 other songs to be more enjoyable than this, but that doesn't mean this isn't a great song though.

Here's some more Adele for ya.
7. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) by Adele
YE position: #26
Yes, the so-called pop track of the album is in my top 10, and not Hello. To be honest, I see Hello as a song for 2015, considering it was massive throughout the final quarter of 2015. But this song, is a perfect example of what 2016 was, down tempo, tropical house! And this time I actually really love it. Adele is mature and honest, she sings amazing like always, and I actually really love the production. Starts off slow and then builds to a great chorus. This isn't the only tropical sounding song off the album, Water Under The Bridge is slightly better in my opinion. But still, this is a solid track and I love it.

Mini Mariah.
6. Into You by Ariana Grande
YE position: #51
My main reason for loving this is the beat and a little bit of Mariah-esque to this song. For one, the dance pop/synth pop production is astounding, I may not totally buy the whole "dangerous woman" attitude from Ariana, same goes for Mariah as well, but I feel that Ariana has more sex appeal and dare I say it, a better voice? Ariana has the youth and the voice to make this type of sexual dance-pop. Mariah did Fantasy which is one of her best, and I feel that this touches on the production of that song, it also touches on another Mariah #1, mostly in the lyrics. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body" Yes, that is a direct reference to Mariah's last #1 hit, Touch My Body, and I hate that song, I think it's one of Mariah's worst songs to date. "But how the Hell did a mini Mariah make it so much better", you ask? Well Jimmy, it's because unlike Mariah, Ariana actually has the youthful image to pull of a sexy look, and actually has better production, not every song about sex needs to be dull as ditch water like so many have been. That's kind of why I love it though, the production is amazing, Ariana's youth shines on this, and it's basically the best mix of Mariah's Fantasy and Touch My Body, something I thought would never work as well as it actually did.

2nd of the three Chainsmokers songs.
5. Roses by The Chainsmokers ft. ROZES
YE position: #27
Well, I know a certain someone is mad that this is as far as it is, but then again I doubt he'd be all that shocked about it. I'm not joking, this is the song that started The Chainsmokers rise to become dominant in EDM and music in general, scoring 5 top 10s from this up until Something Just Like This. And this is amazing, the synth drop is sheer perfection, the verses are amazing, and I just love that buildup. I feel like only The Chainsmokers can get away with these types of songs, loud and obnoxious drops would be a killer for someone like Zedd and Calvin Harris. And considering what those two are doing, I see my point is clear. But still, this isn't even the best song from them. Yes, there is one song from this EDM duo that I find to be better than Roses and Don't Let Me Down, and you all know what it is at this point probably.

The song of the Summer in my eyes.
4. Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake
YE position: #9
Of all the songs that dominated the Summer, this is probably my favorite. For one, it's the perfect dance song of the entire year, it's upbeat, happy, and just amazing in that regard. I'll take JT singing about how he can't stop the feeling almost any day. And yeah, I know, this is basically a Happy clone, but I always like Happy anyways so yeah. This song is one of the bright lights in the dark clout that was 2016, if only we could have some more of this in 2017 and beyond, not this mumble rap crap. But still, by the end of the day, this is still a great upbeat song that I cannot or will not hate.
