Females shouldn't be rapping street shit for the reason that a conscious R&B singer was part of a rap group over 20 years ago.

Lauryn Hill rapped as well.
And I never said that females should rap street BS, I just think we won't get a female rapper as good as Lauryn Hill, and that's just in my personal opinion.

The ONLY reason I've posted this is so that I could get a more detailed view on her streams and whether they would be enough to crack the Hot 100.
Instead, two separate "slut" discussions get started, and then whatever the fuck this Lauryn Hill bullshit is.
You are SO much better than this Pulse.

You're bringing up an artist who's rich for saying three words while treating her mother like crap on live television. Of course it was gonna end up this way.
Oh, and in case if you say it's only about the song, still might be a chance, since again, knowing how memes end up on the charts..

Well next time I'll just ask this type of question in the charts page, and if somebody moves it, I'll show them this thread to explain why.

Uh... I already explained. Sexist & irrelevant. How is it sexist tho? He basically just said Lauryn Hill is the best female rapper in a long time, and he tried to say it wasn't even close. That was his opinion obviously. If I said no one woman would ever top Alanis in Alt music, will that be sexist?

And all because... they won't be as good as... an R&B singer... who made a Hip-Hop Soul album. We're really comparing trap music to gospel music?? So yeah, it's pretty dumb on multiple levels. An admin should just delete this thread TBH. Nobody is even addressing the question in the OP.

I mean, Cardi B managed to do it, so she could have a chance as well.

Just saying, since Lauryn Hill and Missy Elliot we've gotten female rappers who turn to pop music all the time :/ but year Cardi B is yet to make a pop song

From Hot 100 thread. Looks like she may be debuting this week. Really excited about that. There's a high margin of error at #91, so I still don't feel like its guaranteed. I wonder if it will get any radio or long term streams? Probably not. I expect it to disappear the very next week like Ricegum and Jake Paul. But one thing that Bhad Bhabie has that they don't is the ability to collaborate with actual mainstream rappers like Kodak Black. I expect her next move to be to be a collaboration with somebody like that. The "Roll In Peace" remix was pretty amazing. A lot of doubt that she wrote it, but it's a good performance regardless.

Like... if you got 500,000 plays in an hour I think you might be #1 viral. But that alone doesn't mean that you have enough to chart. Really I don't know their system. Kinda like YouTube trending, it seems maybe a little bit confusing. The Roll In Peace remix came out a few days ago I think.

If anyone thinks this shit is good or whatever, I suggest watching the following video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVDDwY2NgEMIt's about Jake Paul, but any YouTube crossover hit is applicable in the situation

If anyone thinks this s**t is good or whatever, I suggest watching the following video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVDDwY2NgEMIt's about Jake Paul, but any YouTube crossover hit is applicable in the situation That video has a lot of issues and needs to do a bit of fact checking, I pointed out a ton of them in the comments when it was first posted. I'm sure you can find them if you scroll around a bit. Basically, the guy freaks out about Jake Paul, who's pretty unlikely to have any charting songs after a year from now at most. Then they end it with some word salad about Nu Metal killing rap by circumventing "the industry". Those dudes (other than Spectrum Pulse) are some of those "real rap" fans who shun most anything mainstream made after 2005. That's why the main guy draws a comparison between Jake Paul and Lil Uzi Vert of all things and basically does some "the sky is falling" BS over a minor artist. The whole video is his weird subtle dig at the new school and thinks that we caused terrible Jake Paul songs by listening to completely unrelated trap artists. He also talks about how it's the "real raps" fans fault that the new school is popular because they don't buy enough Run The Jewels CDs and don't yell enough about how terrible they think Young Thug is. He's strangely self loathing. He reminds me of the dude from "Fear" who says "until we return to these laws statutes and commandments, the wrath of god is going to be upon us, and we are going to be at a lower state in this life". Spectrum Pulse (who is supposed to be the chart expect at the table) doesn't help. He blows the whole thing out of porportion and acts like 2 songs that spent a week at #86 and #94 (or as he describes "it's not just one of these popular songs, it's MULTIPLE") are somehow a significant presence in the world of rap. He seems to completely ignore their complete lack of longevity and he seems to have it in his mind that Jake Paul is going to be the next Flo Rida or something. You can actually see Spectrum and I exchanging a few words in the comment section about it. Bhad Bhabie should not be put into the category of Jake Paul and Ricegum. Yes, they all have in common the fact that they are ammeters who started out as internet personalities, but there's a big difference in the directions they seem to be going. Bhad Bhabie wants to join the ranks of Cardi B, Kodak Black and the like. She's chasing radio play, long term streaming, and a spot on the XXL Freshman list. Jake Paul and Ricegum want to join the ranks of Pewdiepie and are chasing adsense money and YouTube subscribers. Very very different careers, and also very different music.

The point of that video is that this new online hip-hop is mockery of black culture, and Danielle Bregoli is the PINNACLE of that. Everything she does, she's tryna sound black, or look black, or act black. It's borderline racism if you ask me.

Everything she does, she's tryna sound black, or look black, or act black. It's borderline racism if you ask me. She's an Oakie from California. She sounds and acts like a Oakie from California. I know tons of them in real life. That's just how they are. And the "mockery of black culture" thing is really silly. Like... Ricegum and Jake Paul make a mockery of themselves. Nobody's going to watch some Jake Paul and think "wow, black culture is terrible" unless they were already really racist to begin with.

Yeah, I never really expected it to last more than a week. The dude's use of "started" was interesting.

Not commenting on Bhad Bharbie because I haven't heard the song; but seriously, Missy needs more love.
