Wowza, it's only been one day, and we already have 6 participants! This is by far the fastest start we have had to a Martina rankdown. Thank you to everybody who has submitted And to anybody else who is even considering participating, I would highly recommend getting in on the action! Deadline's right in the Holy Week so I'll have plenty of time to do this  Yay! And to answer your statement from earlier, yes, this is definitely one of her more modern albums. It's right between Waking Up Laughing and Eleven, both of which you seemed to enjoy well enough. But personally I find Shine to be the most immediately accessible of the three It's much more guitar-driven, there are some hooky melodies, she really pushes herself vocally... It's the most radio-ready out of the three for sure. I'll be interested in hearing what you think! |

Lol that's what I used to say in the Martina McBride rankdown (her artist RD) last year, and I love her music now, so it might just take some time getting used to! I used to think "Wild Angels" lacked a punch to its chorus but I love the song a lot now, even its chorus! |

I'm dreading ranking that album because there are only 2 songs that deserve bottom 5 (and I do like those 2 songs). The Way That I Am is such an amazing album and while we all already know the #1 I'm looking forward to how that one goes. |

Submitted. So happy to have revisited this album. Hoping for The Way That I Am or maybe even Timeless next. I'm not usually a fan of cover albums but Timeless is imo, the best, well polished covers album, ever.

This is actually one of the first Martina albums I ever listened to if not the first (which was probably when it came out). Luckily, I already remember how a few of these songs go; I'll give this album another listen some time tomorrow hopefully.

That was a cute album. It didn't have the highs of other Martina albums (for example songs as great as "Everybody Does", "Whatcha Gonna Do" etc) but it was consistent and definitely poppier!
Can't wait for the results!

Fellers, this rankdown is already making history! Not only is it the largest Martina rankdown, with 19 participants, this is also the first album in our series that did not have a runaway last-place contender. Of course, when I say there was no runaway contender for last place, my message of just how close this battle at the bottom was doesn't completely come across... I must tell you that there was actually a TIE for last place!!!!! And believe it or not, neither of them was the song that was in last place for most of the submission process. In fact, #12 did not occupy last place at any point until the last list came in. The reason it lost the tie breaker is that #11 is... somebody's #1!!!! Meanwhile, the song that looked like an obvious last place contender for most of the submission process went on to escape its fate and be a fairly strong competitor.... Out of 19 people, only THREE of us put #12 at the bottom of our lists! That's a pretty low percentage for an album rankdown, where usually it seems there is a lot of agreement on the bottom song!
