Unfortunately, g8erboi was correct in his guess that this would be "City Of Love" :'( This song was, albeit briefly, a #1 contender. However, even after it gave up the top, it seemed very determined to hang onto the top 2 or 3. This is the first song we have seen that was very consistent in this rankdown, managing to stay in the top 5 without bouncing around too much. Two #2 ranks are lost here, from myself and SHOOTER.

This is one of Martina's most epic and underrated vocal performances. The E5s in the second half of the song are just relentless! Usually when she hits that note it's just like once per song, but in this case she hits it and keeps coming back to it multiple times. It's gotta be one of her hardest songs to sing, but imo she sounds so confident and powerful with it.

wow, "Wearing White" did not deserve to be in the Top 3. I can enjoy the song well enough but I've never gone out of my way to listen to it and usually skip it when I listen to this album (same with "Reluctant Daughter"). Hopefully that is next at #3 and "This Ones For The Girls" and "How Far" are the top 2.

Kicking off the top 3, we say goodbye to our final album track! It appears to me that the "Wearing White" haters are mostly a vocal minority, because it managed to gradually rise for the entire submission process. It only beat "City Of Love" by a slim margin of 2 points, but it was still able to maintain that lead for the last 6 submissions. This song wipes out 2 #1 placements for Kanenrá:ke and someguy , and 4 other top 5s.

Through the years, this has been buzzed about as a missed single opportunity more than just about anything else on this album. In true Martina fashion this is an anthem against slut shaming, and just being yourself no matter what people say, but the message is delivered in such an upbeat and celebratory manner. The vocal and traditional production makes this a nice change of pace for Martina, which is partly why I agree that this would have made an excellent single choice even though it is far from my favorite on the album.

I am sure y'all are not too surprised to see that the top 2 comes down to the lead single/smash radio hit "This One's For The Girls", versus the less successful but fan favorite hit "How Far"! Working on the final reveal now :)

Flawless top 2, I won’t be mad if my #1 loses because the other one is my #2 and it was painful ranking one of those not at #1.

really glad to see this one go. It overstayed big time. I do agree that it would have probably been a better single choice than "God's Will" though I do love that song better by a long shot but the thing I think brought her down in terms of radio play in the 2000's were the single choices. Songs like "For These Times", "How I Feel", "I Just Call You Mine", and "Marry Me" should never have been singles, or at least most of them shouldn't have been. I could support "I Just Call You Mine" if "How I Feel" hadn't been a single the album before. "For These Times" and "Marry Me" were near the bottom of their respective albums and should not have even been considered to be singles.

Regardless, great Top 2! Hope "How Far" wins.

Sporting a total of 5 #1s, this song absolutely obliterated the competition. With 70 points, it has practically 50 points less than "Wearing White" did! While it started out with a hiccup thanks to Kanenrá:ke's last place vote coming right at the beginning of the submission process, it immediately recovered, and once it hit #2, it never let go.

This song is a Martina staple. It's one of those signature songs where people hear it and automatically assume it was a #1 hit for her. This song absolutely would have deserved to hit #1 in this rankdown, as it is definitely the song that is most immediately associated with this album, however I am totally fine seeing it bow out at #2 considering what the winner is...








This live recording with the Boston Pops Orchestra is just so cool, I had to share it! She also performed "Independence Day" with them.

As much as "This One's For The Girls" obliterated the rest of the album, "How Far" obliterates that one in a similar fashion! It spent most of the submission process with less than half as many points as TOFTG...

This song has EIGHT #1 votes, and the lowest ranker is only a #7. 16 out of 18 people put this in their top 4 It's clear that this song deserved to win!

This is by far one of Martina's most epic vocal performances! It is also really strong lyrically as well, which just makes it even better. I can't get enough of this song. It dropped my jaw the first time I played this album, so I was so glad when it got to be a single! Anyway, I can't think of anything else to say about this song other than stupidly raving about how good it is, so I think I'll hit "post" now

YAY my #1 was the #1! Love "How Far" and Martina slays the vocals on it, as usual. Would be interested to hear one of the songwriters, Jamie O'Neal, sing it because she has a great voice too and would be interesting to hear how she would do it.
