 After giving it a decisive victory in the poll, it is clear that most of you would like to continue this album series with Martina's 5th studio album, Emotion! This album is widely acclaimed, much like the critical darling Evolution that came before it. However, as easy as it would have been for Martina to try to recapture the magic of her breakthrough album, this album saw her pushing herself in many brand new ways. The album is actually a bit of an enigma, imo. The songs themselves seem a bit poppier than her previous output, and yet the album was actually recorded with a much smaller band than she had ever used before. She wanted to strip her sound back a tad and go for a more intimate sound. One of the reasons why I am so excited to do this album, is because for once I have absolutely no clue what will win! This album had several huge hits, such as "I Love You", (which was #1 on the country charts for 5 weeks, making it her biggest hit chart-wise), and "Love's The Only House", so there is definitely a strong possibility that a single will win this rankdown. However, despite the commercial success of this album, none of the hits really seem to be remembered as songs that were paramount to the trajectory of her career. There is no "Independence Day" or "A Broken Wing" on this album. Instead, we have a seamlessly cohesive set of singles and album tracks, that essentially flow perfectly together to lead to one of her most consistent albums from front to back. The song list:

Wow, this one was difficult. Seriously not one bad song on this album. I had a really difficult time ranking some of my favorites and I knew it was bad when even my #10 song was one I loved. There doesn't really seem to be an obvious #1 on this one, so I'm really anxious to see how this one turns out!

3) Which songs belong in the top 5? LTOH + MMB + "This Uncivil War" seem like locks. Probably two of the remaining three singles as well. Possibly "From the Ashes" sneaks in there, too.
