I liked the previous album's singles, along with "Skyfall", "Hello", and "When We Were Young". Her last two singles are underwhelming to me, but not particularly bad.

Two of mine charted on both alt and pop (one was bigger on alt, the other was bigger on pop) and another is CanCon that somehow weaseled its way in.

Two of mine charted on both alt and pop (one was bigger on alt, the other was bigger on pop) and another is CanCon that somehow weaseled its way in. 2 Heads and Spirits peaked in 2016 though If WUTB gets nominated it'll become painfully clear that people are just throwing out songs they feel don't belong on the "rock" formats, that's a good song with not much to object to that got almost universal praise in the other subforums. But gravey is the one who suggested it! I really don't think Adele is that good, she has a nice voice but her songs and lyrics are nothing special. I could see her being in the running for worst of the year. I agree that she's overrated, but there isn't anything to object to about her besides *maybe• some of her songs being boring in which case WUTB isn't even close to the worst offender she's released as there's a lot more going on then most of her other songs.

3 of you have to suggest to me 1 more song. Otherwise, I'm rejecting your other suggestion. By the deadline. (Or 1 of your 3 if you're planning to submit all 4 at once) Who The Hell Is Leo?✔ American Idiot Leaf

"Feel It Still"? "Go Robot"? Oh, it's on now.
Also, when/where did that July Talk song chart? I only knew of "Push + Pull" getting any attention in the US, and I can't find "Picturing Love" anywhere on Daryl's list of eligible songs.

I'm very tempted to use both of my picks here on a certain band that heavily disappointed me this year

I could say the same thing about anything by Foo Fighters who are in my Top 3 favorite artists all time. That's what makes this interesting as we all love and hate different stuff. Unfortunately, for me, I can't think of a single reason to like alt-J.

and I can't find "Picturing Love" anywhere on Daryl's list of eligible songs. It went top 50 on Alt, so it's eligible. The list of songs is only for Billboard entries. For MB entries you have to use the thread I posted in the same post.

sooo uh are we just going to nominate the whole chart, or...like I know people don't love or perhaps kind of dislike "Feel It Still" but one of the worst of the year? Let's be honest, there are dozens and dozens of soulless and generic post grunge songs no one nominated that deserve the slot more than Portugal. The Man. At least it shouldn't be hard to pick my #80 (waiting for someone to prove me wrong and pick The National's "System") Maybe we should have stuck with 50 songs. To defend my latest pick, "Go Robot" is one of the most tepid and lifeless songs RHCP have ever released (ahead of perhaps only "Rain Dance Maggie" imo) and I think its choice as a single killed the album's radio run. Kiedis wanted it as the lead single too but Danger Mouse pushed for "Dark Necessities", guessing it would have missed #1 if that was the case. However "Roll Up" needs no defense, it's just an atrocious song that removed everything that was enjoyable about Fitz and the Tantrums' first two albums. sidenote about alt-J: I love them but completely understand why people wouldn't. I think polarizing vocalists appeal to me more because of the atypical sound their songs typically bring along for the ride. Also they are fantastic live. (went during the This Is All Yours tour in 2015)

Are you guys talking about Wayland's "Through the Fire" and Shaman's Harvest's "The Come Up"? These two easily fit into the category, especially the former. (then there's Ded but I wouldn't call them post-grunge) Also I need someone to nominate ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-bad and Letters from the Fire.

(went during the This Is All Yours tour in 2015) Honestly, I'm kind of with those people most of the time, when it comes to alt-J, but "In Cold Blood" is the one song of theirs that I've really, really, REALLY enjoyed. I thought that would be the exception to the alt-J rule. I could say the same thing about anything by Foo Fighters who are in my Top 3 favorite artists all time. That's what makes this interesting as we all love and hate different stuff. I'm still baffled by the "Blame" choice. I can think of dozens of songs that are worse. If we're just nominating everything, we might as well nominate "Holding On". ... WAIT, WAIT, DON'T DO THAT

so ranking these now I didn't realize how much harder it is to separate levels of bad from levels of good. What truly makes "Middle Fingers" more or less unbearable than "Thunder"? Do I want to listen deeply enough to figure it out?

Usually one can figure out if you wanna sit through a song by the intro alone. The ones I truly are the ones I know from start to finish. The hardest part is the middle ground. Does this song suck slightly more than the next? When in doubt start looking for vocals, lyrical content, banjos...
