I'm typing in Verdana font, and it definitely took long enough for THAT to happen, but here we are...and it's time for another (early) B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! You can thank Daryl for sending in a ranking this time, and his ranking wasn't a huge one in terms of shaking things up, per say, but it was a big ranking in terms of fleshing out the contenders and the pretenders. The top ten is now well ahead of #11, for example, while the three lowest songs in the rankdown are now far away from the rest of the pack. That doesn't mean that everyone is separated, however...
More stats to consider:
- At the very top of the rankdown, we have to do this...TIES? YOU BET! That's right, there's a tie at #1. What's more, it's a tie between two previous #1s, as they combined to knock the previous #1 out of the top spot. In fact, that song fell all the way down to #4, as a song leapfrogged it up to #3. #3 is five points behind the top two, while only being two points ahead of #4. #4 is only one point ahead of #5.
- #6 and #8 are separated by three points.
- We are at a point where we can really start tracking the songs that have been in every top ten and bottom ten. We start, of course, with the top ten, where eight songs have been in every top ten early in the ranking process.
- (MORE) TIES? YOU BET! There's another tie in the top ten at #9, while there are also ties at #11, #30, and #34, and there's a three-way tie at #16.
- The good news for the songs tied at #9? Those songs are ahead of the songs tied at #11 by fourteen points.
- Two songs in the bottom ten still have less than twenty points. The third barely got to twenty with this ranking.
- There have been seven songs in every bottom ten.
- That third song was able to move out of #40 this ranking, moving up to #38, but their position is very precarious. It holds just a one point lead over #39 and a four point lead over the new #40. What's more, #38 is fifteen points behind #37.

After to listening to a lot of first time listens from their early work; I seriously think "Dig Down" will be bottom of the pile for me. Even more so than that ballady "Unintended".

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! The Good Doctor has decided to join the festivities, and his ranking helped to bring many of the songs closer together. How nice of him. Even the bottom three songs are now just a little bit closer to #37. It's not December yet, but it looks like Doc was in a very giving mood. We should just call him Dr. Claus. 
More stats to consider:
- One thing Doc did do was break the tie at #1, and a former #1 takes back the top spot, four points ahead of the former #1 that is now sitting at #2. #3 remains the same, but is now only three points behind #2. #3 is now eleven points ahead of #4.
- #5, #6, and #7 are all separated by four points.
- We have a new song in the top ten! It's also somewhat comfortably ahead of the song that it replaced in the top ten.
- It's time for the latest installment of Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update (insert trademark here)...
We have yet another tie in the top ten, this time at #8. Meanwhile, there are also ties at #13, #18, #21, and #33.
- #37 is now only five points ahead of #38.
- Oh, and thanks to Doc, we have a new #40...which is a song that was previously #40. And, thanks to Doc's ranking, that song is now nine points behind #39.

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! recordyear has decided to announce themselves immediately with their ranking, helping to strengthen the haves and weaken the have-nots. What do I mean by that, exactly? Well, read on, fine reader of these ballot updates!
More stats to consider:
- Thanks to recordyear's ballot, not only does #1 stay #1, it widened the gap big time over #2: Twenty-one points separates #1 and #2 now. Let's see if we wind up having another runaway winner, like we did in the first Journey Through Time rankdown.
- We also have a new #2, as the previous #2 drops three spots below the song that was previously #3. Meanwhile, the gap between the top three and #4 also shrunk, with #4 just three points behind #3.
- Songs 5-8 are separated by seven points. #7 and #8 are separated by just two points.
- We have one new entry in the top ten...or, should I say, returning entry, as a song that has been in the top ten before jumps back into the top ten with this update. But its position is very precarious. Why?
- Well, to answer that question, we have to get to Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
#9 is currently in a THREE-WAY TIE with #10 and #11. That's not the only tie, of course. We also have ties at #17, #19, and #25.
- The gap between #37 and the bottom three has increased again, with #37 now thirteen points ahead of #38.
- Meanwhile, #40 remains #40 with this latest ranking, and the gap has actually increased, albeit by a very small amount, between #39 and #40.

This latest ballot, from Unhinged, has had the effect of bunching many of the songs together and putting them into their own separate groups, tussling amongst themselves. One ranking can change this, of course, but, for now, it's kind of fascinating how these songs are bunched up right now.
More stats to consider:
- #1 remains #1, but, thanks to Unhinged's ballot, the lead has shrunk dramatically. #1 now holds a slim five point lead over #2, as well as a seven point lead over #3. The top 3 remains the exact same as the top 3 from the previous update.
- The top 3, meanwhile, has distanced itself from #4, with #3 now thirteen points ahead of #4.
- #4, meanwhile, finds itself just four points ahead of #5.
- Big update in terms of the songs moving in and out of the top ten, While one song returns to the top ten, a constant in every single top ten up until this point drops out of the top ten for the first time. Seven remain...
- Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
The first tie is all the way up at #5, and there's a tie immediately following it at #7. Ties galore! There's also ties at #9, #20, #25, and #30.
- Songs 36-39 are starting to get a little more bunched together: #36 is one point ahead of #37, while the gap between #38 and #39 has shrunk to eight points. #39 is just four points behind #38.
- Poor #40 saw the gap between #39 and #40 increase again, now up to fourteen points.
- There have been seven songs in every bottom ten, and, unless things change dramatically, those songs will not be leaving the bottom ten any time soon...

This latest ballot, this time from fellow year end rock chart rankdown host Rowell, actually...didn't change a hell of a lot, for the most part. A lot of the same songs are still hovering around their positions from the previous update. The one BIG change, though...that happens very early.
More stats to consider:
- For the first time in four ballot updates, we have a new #1. And not only that, but it's a song that had yet to be #1 at any point in the ranking process until now. But it's anyone's ball game right now. How close is it at the top? The new #1 is one point ahead of the previous #1. (#3, meanwhile, is just four points behind the new #1.)
- The gap between the top 3 and the #4 song increased yet again, with #3 now over twenty points ahead of #4.
- #4 is suddenly in a dogfight just to retain its current position, just two points ahead of #5.
- Well, how about that...every song in the top ten from the previous update remains in the top ten for this update...though #10 is just a single point ahead of #11.

This update, the first tie is all the way up at #6. There are also ties at #12, #26, and...#37.

This latest ballot from peacebone has helped to separate the field even more, with a sizable gap forming between the songs vying for top spots and the songs that are settling into mediocrity. At the top, though, things are proving to be a little chaotic. How do I know this? Well...
More stats to consider:
- Can't believe that I have to do this again, but it's already time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
That's right, we have a tie (again) at the top spot. It's the same two songs from the last ballot's top two, and the only thing breaking the tie, at least for the moment, is that one of the two songs has a #1 ranking, while the other doesn't. There are also ties at #12, #21, and #34.
- #3, meanwhile, finds itself seven points behind the top two now, and fourteen points ahead of #4, which is down from the twenty-two point gap that it had in the previous update.
- 5-8 are separated by eight points. #5 is ahead of #6 by a single point.
- This update saw one of the seven top ten constants drop out of the top ten for the first time. In its place is a former top ten stalwart in and of itself.
- #36 is now somewhat safely ahead of the bottom four, but 37-39 are tightly bunched together, with just three points separating the three songs.
- The gap between #39 and #40 remains well over twenty points.

This latest ballot, from (god, I hope I'm getting this name right, I'm so bad with names sometimes) sergejdordij, actually did quite a bit to help certain songs get a much-needed boost, but perhaps the most important thing this latest ballot accomplished can be found at the very top...
- No surprise here, as sergejordij broke the tie at the top. In fact, he broke the tie decisively, with a previous #1 returning to the top spot and with a six point gap over #2. Oh, and the former #1 dropped down to #3, allowing the previous #3 to finally get one spot closer to returning to the top.
- The gap between the top 3 and #4 now stands at twenty-one points.
- Another ballot update, another top ten constant falling to the wayside. Replacing it in the top ten is the song that fell out of the top ten for the first time in the previous update.
- It's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
Surprisingly, we don't have a single tie in the top ten. Thankfully, we do have ties outside of the top ten, at #25, at #29, and all the way down at #38.
- The songs at the bottom finally got a much-needed boost thanks to this latest ballot, though it might be too little, too late. #33 is thirty-two points behind #32 and a whopping 51 points behind the two songs tied at #29. And that's not even mentioning the songs BELOW #33.
- #40 finally got a bit of a boost in points with this ballot...only for the songs around it to also get a boost, so it remains at #40. The gap between the two songs tied at #38 and #40 is twenty-eight points.
Also...

That's why I prioritize when it comes to these games. I got this one in way before time, Submitted my Demi and Madonna; one of which is stuck on stupid, and the other stalled. I'll get my Active Rock in the next few days. Submitted my Halloween one, and soon go to work on the next Alt and have plenty of time For Duran Duran; which is going to be hard as f**k to rank. All that and it's already time to compile a weekly chart again.

Though the deadline is tonight, I do want to stress that it's unlikely that the rankdown will start as soon as the deadline passes. At the earliest, I'm looking at tomorrow afternoon as the starting point, so you can still submit up until tomorrow afternoon or so. I'm still hopeful to get more rankings before the actual deadline, though. We're at ten, including my ranking, but we can, obviously, still do better.

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! This latest ballot has us dropping the disco ball for Disco, and Disco's ranking...okay, I'm not going to beat around the bush here...his ballot actually didn't change all that much. That's because it looks like the ranking is stabilizing, and there's clear divides to be found all over the place. Granted, that doesn't also mean things can't still change, because they absolutely can. And nowhere is that more apparent than at the very top...
- #1 is #1 for another update, but its standing at the top is, again, in jeopardy, as it's just three points ahead of #2. #2 also moves back ahead of the previous #2, and the gap between #2 and #3 is nine points.
- The gap between the top 3 and #4 did shrink a bit, but it's still a seventeen point gap between #3 and #4.
- The top four, barring something crazy happening (and I won't rule that out), is looking pretty set...but the rest of the top 10 isn't. #5 does hold a bit of a lead over the rest of the pack, but 6-9 are separated by eight points. #10 is ahead of #11 by just five points.
- It's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
Ayyy, we do have a tie in the top ten this time! That tie is at #6. There are also ties at #18 and all the way down at #37.
- Okay, real talk time...the bottom ten is starting to stabilize pretty heavily. The top of the bottom ten could change, as #31 is just three points behind #30, but once you get further back, it starts to look a bit hopeless. Four songs are still under 100 points. Eight songs are over forty points behind #30. The songs tied at #37 are over SEVENTY points behind #30. And #40...good lord.
- And speaking of #40, #40 is still almost 30 points behind #39.
