I'm typing in Verdana font (for the second time in the last hour), and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! This latest ballot comes to us from alexcuse, and this ranking...actually does shake things up a bit, and at key points of the rankdown. What do I mean by this? Well, I'm glad you asked! And it all starts close to the top yet again...
- #1 is #1 for yet another update, and its position at the top is stronger, though the most interesting thing to happen in the top three came with the songs just below it. The leapfrogging continues, as #2 takes back #2 from the previous #2, which falls down to #3 yet again, but it's the gaps between the songs in the top three that really piques my interest: The gap between #1 and #2 is thirteen points. The gap between #2 and #3...is fourteen. - This sudden change also means that the gap between top 3 and #4 also shrunk dramatically, though moreso for #3 than for the songs in the top 2. #3 now holds just a slim four point lead over #4. The top three has also decidedly become a top four again, with #4 over thirty points ahead of its nearest competitor. - #5 and #6 are separated by two points. Songs 8-10 are separated by just five points. - A big change in the top ten this week, as a song that has been in every top ten since the beginning drops out for the first time this week. We are now down to four constants remaining...but I don't see that changing. Why? Because the four remaining top ten constants are the top four in the rankdown. - It's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update--wait, what's that? (*whispers*) ...wait, really? (*whispers*) Seriously? (*whispers*) ...huh. For the first time in the entire ranking process, it has finally happened...NO TIES. Or, to put it a more apt way...

- Alex actually had a big impact on something that I said was stabilizing heavily last update: The bottom ten. The battle to escape the bottom ten remains feisty, with three songs separated by less than ten points, but there looks to be a light at the end of the tunnel for some of the more hopeless bottom ten entries: #33 is now in striking distance of #30, just as an example. - The one song that didn't really benefit all that much from the changes to the bottom ten? You guessed it: #40, which is now thirty-five points behind #39.

Sent! Wow this was really nice discovering more of their earlier stuff, I really enjoyed this playlist of songs. The only songs I don't really care about are my bottom 3 and I really enjoy my top 25.

I'm typing in Verdana font (for the third time in around an hour), and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! This latest ballot comes to us from YotamTS, and this ranking had the effect of bringing quite a few songs closer together. How close? Well...this is not readily apparent at the top, but it is more apparent later!
- #1 is #1 for yet another update, while the gap between #2 and #3 also increased, meaning that the fight for #1, at least for #1, is a two horse race to the finish...though it will depend, of course, on how many rankings we get until we get started on revealing songs. (hint hint) - By the way, the gap between #2 and #3 is now twenty-one points. - The rest of the top ten is pretty tightly bunched together. 5-11 are all within forty points of each other, meaning that one ranking could still shake things up. The middle is looking pretty bunched up, too. - Hey, some exciting news: After the previous update, where we saw no ties, we don't have such an issue with this update. This means that it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update (*sniff* I missed you...for the one update you were not around, but still!)

Notice how I haven't mentioned the gap between #3 and #4? That's because there's a tie at #3. We also have a tie at #15. - The have nots are starting to find it a bit of a struggle to see a light at the end of the bottom ten tunnel again, with #34 back down to a little under fifty points behind #30, and it doesn't get any better from there...though songs 35-39 are separated by just fifteen points. - Good lord, #40. You just keep hitting new lows. #40 is now a whopping fifty-one points behind #39.

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! This latest ballot comes to us from someone whose ranking I was waiting for, thewebinator, and boy, this ranking doesn't do much in terms of separating songs from one another. If anything, while the divides between certain songs and other songs remains, the songs within those divides only seemed to get closer to one another.
- #1 is #1 for ANOTHER update (and, at this rate, it looks like it's going to stay that way), but the real story is happening right below them. We have a new #2...but barely. #2 is one point ahead of #3. Meanwhile, #4 is just five points behind #2. The #1 race looks to be over, but the race for #2 is anything but. - Songs 5-8 have separated themselves from the songs just below them, and while the gap between #5 and #8 is over twenty points, that also means that one more ranking could still be the difference between a song making the top five and a song missing the top five. - Meanwhile, songs 9-12 are separated by just six points. - Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

This time, we have ties at #6, #23, and #36. - Webby's ranking was not one that was beneficial to the songs at the bottom. #34 is over fifty points behind #30, and every song in the bottom five are all at least seventy points behind #30. It looks like there will be no bottom ten escape for these songs. - #40 update: It's now nearly sixty points behind #39.
With that update over...the deadline has officially passed. Of course, as we've already established, I will not be starting this rankdown immediately. If you need to do a late submission, you will have time to do so. I plan on getting things started sometime later today, though, so if you need to send in a late submission, I'd still advise sending it as soon as possible.

Red can I send my list tomorrow?? Are we talking "later today" tomorrow or "Sunday" tomorrow? Because, even though I'm accepting late submissions, I really did want to get started before Sunday.

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! We're officially in the dying embers of the ranking process, but it's not too late for someone to send in a ranking, and that was the case for CRAP! (Sorry, I just wanted to yell that name.) Crap's ranking mostly changed things below the top ten, though things are still really close in some spots, so one ranking can still change quite a bit.
- #1 is #1 once again, though its lead did shrink a bit, back under a twenty point lead over #2. After doing some re-calculation, it turns out that #2 is actually over ten points clear of #3. #3 is still eight points ahead of #4, while #4 is still well clear of the songs below it. - #5 and #6 are separated by just four points. #7 and #8 are separated by just two. - Songs 10-12 are still separated by six points, but #9 has separated itself a little bit from those three songs. - Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

Just one update to be found in this update, and it can be found close to the very bottom at #35. - In the race to escape the bottom ten, songs 30-32 are separated by five points. - The bottom continues to struggle, with #34 now over sixty points behind #30. - #40 update: It did get a bit of a boost from Crap's ranking, but it's still around fifty points behind #39.

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! Remember how I said that one ranking could still shake things up in the previous update? Well, step right up, Leo, because your ranking is the storm that happened after the calm before the storm. Of course, this didn't really change much at the top...though it also kind of did.
- #1 is now not just #1, it's back up to a commanding lead, 34 points ahead of #2. Where the real intrigue comes is, of course, right below it. #3 finally moves back up to #2, and the long-running #2 finds itself tumbling back down to #3. The gap between #2 and #3 is just five points, though, so #2 is still anyone's game. - The battle just outside the top 3 also changed dramatically, as #4 fell well behind the top three with Leo's ranking. In fact, its position in the top 5 is now tenuous: Songs 4-6 are separated by five points. - While certain spots are stabilizing elsewhere in the top ten, #10 remains anything but stable: ONE point separates #10 and #11. - Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

This update, we see two ties in the top twenty, with ties at #16 and #19. - The bottom ten looks a bit more clear after this latest ranking, with only #31 and #32 having a serious chance of escaping the bottom ten now. - #34 is almost seventy points behind #30. - #40 update: It hasn't changed. This is just getting sad now. Even in the Journey Through Time rankdown, the battle to escape #40 was a battle. #40 here still hasn't even gotten to 100 points.

I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...it's time, once again, for a B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! Juanca got his ranking in just in the nick of time, and his ranking has done quite a bit to shake things up, even this late. All of a sudden, things are not crystal clear at the top anymore...
- #1 is #1 for another update, but the lead has suddenly shrunk big time. Its lead over #2 is now just a mere ten points. - There are more sizable gaps to be found beyond the top two. #2 is seventeen points ahead of #3, and #3 is twenty-five points ahead of #4. And speaking of #4, for the first time in over ten rankings, we have a new song in the top four. The previous #4 falls down to #5, and even that place in the top five is not secure, as it holds an eight point lead over #6. - Well then...#10 is now twelve points ahead of #11, and #11 is officially closer to #12 than #10. - Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

There's two ties once again, and those can be found at #24 and at #31. - #30 now has a seventeen point lead on the songs tied at #31. Things can still change, but the bottom ten is looking pretty set...at least in terms of the songs that will be there when the rankdown is revealed. - If anything, the most interesting thing going on outside of the top five is how often songs are shifting in the bottom seven. We've had three different songs be the top of the very bottom songs (that's referring to songs 34-40, which are all well behind the rest of the songs in this rankdown) in the last three updates. - #40 update: Fifty-four points behind #39.
Okay, so we are waiting on the ranking of one person and one person alone, and we'll get this started when he gets his ranking in. We're all waiting on you now, Lordef†ones . On a related note, once Lord submits his ranking, submissions will be closed. No exceptions. So, if you haven't sent me your ranking by now and still want to submit...you better be quicker on the draw than Lord.

Quite interesting to see that my submission made some shake-up! I have to say that this has been one of my favorite RD exercises so far!!!! Like with Linkin' Park, I knew enough songs of the group to participate, and trusted the group a lot to be ready to be surprised, and YES I've discovered a lot of great songs with this RD. Overall, I've also strengthened my fandom for this awesome group. Look forward to the results! And to be honest, my bottom 5 is clear bottom, but then things are quite close -except for the top 5 of course :-)

It's 12:00 A.M. my time. I hope you mean later in the evening and not this morning. Sunday's are family days. It's probably going to be closer to the morning where you live than in the evening. Sorry, Doc, but I really need to get started on this before too long. I'm typing in Verdana font, and you know what that means...and you also know who submitted most recently, which means that it's time for the final B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! Lord was the final person to submit a ranking, and though not much was shaken up at the top (one more ranking could have done something, but it's too late now... ), the rest of the rankdown got one more tiny shake up before the reveal begins...
- The biggest shake up happened below the top 5, with three different spots in the top ten being switched up. One song in particular was hit hard by Lord's ranking and dropped out of the top ten because of it. - A clear gap can be found after around the top twelve, where 20+ point gaps become commonplace. - Songs 14-16 are separated by six points. Songs #18 and #19 are separated by a single point. - Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

We only have one tie, but it's a tie at a crucial spot: #10. Both songs had the same top ranking, so the second-best ranking proved to be the tiebreaker. - The bottom ten songs remained the same. In fact, only one swap in the middle of the top ten prevented the entire bottom ten from being the exact same as the previous update. - #40 update: Hello darkness, my old friend...I've come to talk with you again.
Alright, so...life kind of got in the way of me updating this before now. I wanted to start the reveal yesterday, but hey, stuff happens, and today will also work. It's not like the reveal is going to take all that long, anyway. The reveal still likely won't begin until later today, so, to tide you guys over, HERE'S A SURVEY!
(Note: I thought about asking all of you what the #40 song will be, but let's be real here...you all know what #40 is. )
1) What songs do you expect to see in the top ten?
2) What songs do you expect to see in the bottom ten?
3) What song will have the highest standard deviation?
4) What song will have the lowest standard deviation?
5) What song finished #1?

Sorry, Doc, but I really need to get started on this before too long.Hopefully I don't miss much? Maybe "Dig Down" and some other crappy ones. 1) What songs do you expect to see in the top ten? My answer is always the same, because I hate to jinx my songs. The same ones I put in the top 10, but definitly "Uprising" and "Knights of Cydonia" 2) What songs do you expect to see in the bottom ten? That slow folky one and "Dig "DOOOO00000oooooown" 3) What song will have the highest standard deviation? "Madness' 4) What song will have the lowest standard deviation? "Knights Of Cydonia" 5) What song finished #1? I won't reveal my #1 song just yet.

Who's up for an early-morning reveal? Just me? Okay.
#40, simply put, never stood a chance. It was the #40 song for the ENTIRE rankdown. For most of the rankdown, it wasn't even close to #39, let alone the rest of the rankdown. All but two people put this song in their bottom ten, a whopping twelve of those people (or 2/3 of the people participating) put this song in their bottom five, and a rankdown-high six people had this as their #40 song. That's 1/3 of the participants. Oh, and we're kicking things off with the song that had the lowest standard deviation. Frankly, I'm amazed that anyone could have thought that this wouldn't be #40. It was doomed from the start...
