Starting this new thread for next week. In this thread I will begin posting my top 100+ songs of 2017. In this list you will find all types of music I charted, from Rock, Alternative, Indierock, pop synthpop , country and K-pop. That's right. I love me some melodic K-Pop as well. You will also get Song stats, Music Videos , album art, original and fan made; which is a personal hobby of mine. Also this year I'm adding a new feature called "Song's chart history" which basically shows you every slot the song hit while on the top 50. Sound like fun? Yes? No?, maybe? Try it out anyway. You might just discover some new favorites.
I'll start off with some songs that were in my HOT LIST for many weeks. These are some great songs , that never quite broke into the top 50.
So don't be left out of the fun. Hope to see everyone here.
*Tagging everyone who loves music!!!!!!

let's start off with my HOT LIST. These are the songs right below my Top 50 or crossovers from my Metal and Indie charts. These is the order they debuted in and right next to them in () is the song's ultimate peak. I also posted a few vids for a few of them. Songs with * are still on my HOT LIST. Atlas Genius - Friendly Apes (59) This was the last track off Inanimate Objects that I thought was great. Brad Paisley - Without A Fight feat. Demi Lovato (72) Demi singing Country took me by surprise, but I think their vocals really worked well together here. Transviolet - Closer (91) Mandroid Echostar - Midnight Sun (80) Mother Mother - The Drugs (53) This one entered my HOT LIST twice. The second time it peaked just outside of the top 50. The only other song I charted form this band was "Modern Love" The New Wave jam that sounds like it was recorded in 1983. Bowling For Soup - Hey Diane (79) I was hyped to know they released new material. Unfortunatley it was mainly their own rehashed melodies with terrible lyrics. Steel Panther - She's Tight feat. Robin Zander (63) Hair Metal Pardoy band, that uses familiar Glam Metal cords and vocal styles ,while adding in risque lyrics to their style. This is a cover of the Cheap Trick classic. Nina Nesbit - Chewing Gum (56) Picked this one up from another member's list. I liked this one because it didn't sound like standard pop. It had a bit of an 80's Pop vibe too. Another great song that just missed my top weekly Top 50. Tokio Hotel - What If (52) I have always liked this band. "Love Who Love's You Back" was huge on my chart. This song was on my HOT LIST for many months, but stopped short at #52. Saint Motel - Sweet Talk (65) Jumped on this one before "Destroyer" became a single. "Destroyer" will surely be in my top 100 of the year, and I could also bring this one back in 2018? Scavenger Hunt - Never Enough (62) I started weening off a bit on synthpop this year. I only charted some of the ones I thought were really great, as you will find out later on the actual top 100. Coco Morier - Dreamer (89) More 80's geared Synthpop. THis one had a nice melody, but a bit simple in the instrumentation. Silversun Pickups - Latchkey Kids (58) I have never been an immediate fan of this band. They feel like Smashing Pumpkins lite, but this song hit all the right cords. I really enjoyed the musical composition. The one song I love from this band is "Substitution" Red Velvet - Russian Roulette (60) For a few years I have getting into K-POp a lot. The melodies, The way the girls sing together in chorus style, or take turns singing. It's all very 80's. COIN - I Don't Wanna Dance (56) "Talk Too Much" will surely be in my top songs of the year, but this one just fell short of really hitting that Top 50 bulls eye sound for me. Creeper - Hiding With The Boys (75) Here is a band I first saw on wheatsquares33 list. Quite a few rocksters have charted one song or another from this band. There are aspects of this band that remind me of the Ramones. Rick Astley - Angels On My Side (53) Rick Astly made a comback album that no one heard about. I charted one song off it. This one also barely missed my weekly Top 50. Blaenovan - My Bark Is Your Bite (72) Indierock that caught my interest ,because of the guitar works of this song. Skylar Stecker - Only Want You (59) I always seem liking Pop songs that don't seem to chart on the actual Poptart charts. This singer's vocal style reminded me of a young Mariah Carry. Mastodon - Show Yourself (54) This would have been the first Mastodon, single to make my top weekly 50. I think this one really rocked too. Love Thy Brother feat Ariel Beesley - Love Me Better (85) Really great Indiepop song, that was in my HOT LIST for a few months. Her vocals were the best part of the song. K. Flay - High Enough (55) Another great song that just missed the mark. I didn't like that "Blood In The Cut" at all, but this song had a really uptempo vibe. Again. #55. So close. Heavy Tiger - I Go For The Cheap Ones (52) I had so many Top 50 casualties that broke my heart. I loved those one, because of the Joan Jett vibe. This one was also on my Metal chart. BLACK MIRRORS - Funky Queen (60) This song is great. It sort of reminds me of a female version of Royal Black. This one was also big on my weekly Metal Chart. I've actually been thinking of bringing this one back. GOTTHARD - Stay With Me (72) This one had a great Whitesnake Power ballad, vibe to it. Another crossover from my Metal Chart. Linkin Park (feat. Kiiara) - Heavy (90) Didn't care for this when it first came out, but I eventually warmed up to it, for Chester's vocals. LYON - Sliverlight (86) A great Indie synthpop song. I would have charted this higher in 2015-16. MUNA - I Know A Place (81) This one was #1 on a few personal charts I viewed here. I liked this song, but you will run into "Loud Speaker" on the actual top songs of 2017. Avenged Sevenfold - GOD Damn (62) This Alternative Metal band is hit or miss for me. This song had a great chorus, but fizzled on me soon after It was on my HOT LIST. Broods - Are You Home (60) After "Free" became a huge song on my year end 2016 charts, I had high hopes for the band, but they didn't really release a great single after that one. I gave this one a few spins, but never fully got into it. Charli XCX - Baby Girl (92) I might bring this back in 2018. I've been spinning it a few times this month. has a cool 80's style to it. As Lions - Aftermath (67) I got into this song when I realized it was lead by Bruce Dickinson's son. The melody was great , but wasn't quite strong enough to climb any higher to my Top 50. TREAT - I Don't Miss The Misery (86) Those who follow my chart remember "Inferno" was one of my top hits the year before. This was another great one off their latest album. Bon Jovi - The Devil's In The Temple (71) "This House Is Not For Sale" was a big number one hit on my chart last year. Unfortunatley it was the only big hit on my chart this year also. I also really liked this song because of the great message in the video. ART NATION - Ghost Town (52) I picked this one up from ex pulser quirkyferang. This was on my HOT LIST many months. IT recently peaked just outside my Top 50. TEAMMATE - Into Motion (58) Here is a band I've charted before with "Girls With Boys Names". This song was a bit more uptempo. This would be another casuality because of my rebirh of Metal this year. G-reyfish - Johnny GoGo (91) Great K-pop with a cool NRG vibe. The style of the song was a bit like Aqua's "Barbi Girl" Fickle Friends - Hello Hello*This is a band that has had major success on my chart. This year they have a huge hit coming up later. This one has been on my HOT LIST for months, but I'm saving it for 2018. This way I can chart the band 4 years in a row. * Any thoughts on this songs are welcome. You can find them all on youtube too. Tomoorow I'll post another group of songs that are still on my HOT LISt and still have a chance of crossing over to 2018.

Here is another big group of songs still in the waiting lines. These are songs that are still in my HOT LIST. The ones with peaks in () are on their way out. Now the ones with *, could very well be the big F_U_T_U_R_E hits of 2018. Feel free to preview of few of these classics to be?
Foster The People - Lotus Eater * If you like bands like the Strokes, then this is your song. I'm still waiting for this to be single #3.
Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry (53) But the truth is I'm am Sorry, Demi. .The sampling in this didn't fly to well with me. but "Sexy Dirty Love" will make up for that.
OMD feat. Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman - Thrill Me* Off" Fly: Songs Inspired by the film Eddie The Eagle" .An album full of the best 1985 songs written in 2017. This particular song features vocals by Taron Egerton and High Jackman, of all people. The Music video is full of 80's icons too.
Fever High - That's So Typical (60) Same band that had that huge "Tantalized" hit on my year chart last year. This one has that same 80's Madonna sound, but just misses the mark.
WHITE - Fight The Feeling (57) Another band with a big hit on my chart last year. This one peaked just outside of my top 50.
The Wayfarers - Be Careful What You Wish For* The best aspect of the horror movie "Wish Upon" is this song. This band currently has one of the top 3 hits on my weekly charts. This is my kind of Indie Pop.
Stone Sour - Rose Red Violent Blue(This Song Is Dumb & So Am I) (62) Here is another song, where the best aspect is the Music video, but fear not, because "Song #3" is one of my biggest hits of 2017. Ice Choir - Designs In Rhythm* Another band with a huge song on my year end chart. This second single is struggling a bit on my HOT LIST, but it could pick up come the new year?
Great News - WONDERFAULT* If you love Tears For Fears? ..and who doesn't? Then you might guess what this future 2018 hit sounds like? However I recently discovered another song by this band , called "Secrets" , which is from 2016. I might just chart that one first?
Hell In The Club - We Are On Fire* A trip back to hard rock 2010, is what this Italian Hair Metal band does with this song. Pure adrenaline from start to finish.
Pale Waves - Television Romance* One of my favorite new song. I'm unleashing this one the first week of 2018. Ever wonder what The 1975 would sound like with female vocals?
Walk The Moon - One Foot* This song; while having a great sounding Midbreak, misses the mark through out the song. It's not bad, but struggling to get to my Top 50.
Blossoms - Charlemagne* Great song with a sort of neo Psychedelic sound to it. This one is also looking for some Top 50 action.
The New Pornographers - This Is The World Of The Theater (64) Unless you check out the AAA charts , you will not recognize this band. They had a big hit , this year with "High Ticket Attractions". This is the second track that caught my attention.
Lorde - Perfect Places (51) Oh boy. This one just missed my top 50 by one slot. Great song.
Anna Of The North - Someone* Indie synthpop that caught my ear because of the crafty way the melody incorporates "Bette Davis Eyes". I really go for this "airy" 80's synthpop songs with big drums, so watch out for this one in 2018.
Daneka Gold - Whose Eyes (55) 1990's Aishu NRG sound that was very popular with the Italian and Japanese dance crowd. It also creates as a beautiful Italo melody with the synths.
Foo Fighters - The Sky Is A Neighborhood* If you really wanna see the Foo Fighters in action these days, you really gotta go to the Active charts, because Alt isn't what it used to be. The band themselves provide a more mellow vibe with this song. It has guitars, but still could use more.
Carly Rae Jepsen - Higher* This year you'll be honored with two Carly songs in my Top 2017, but I need a dose of Carly; at least once a year, so I'm getting ready to unleash another 80's synthpop song from her B-sides album, in 2018.
Beck - Up All Night* The lastest Beck single to take the Alt world by storm. Still not in my top 50, but it;s getting there.
Arcade Fire - Creature Comfort* I'm still hoping this song picks up on the actual Alternative chart in 2018, cuz I can't wait forever to start charting it?
Freeweights - Nothing To Burn* Here is the band that had my #1 song of the year two years ago, with "Living In A Studio". They will also appear on this years chart very high on the list. This band has those perfect 80's tone to his vocals. I need at least, one, Freeweights song on my charts each year. probably from now til the end of time, so I hope they keep dishing them singles out.
Nickelback - The Betrayal Act III* I'm surprised this one hasn't debuted on Active already? I'm still planning to chart a few more songs off "Feed The Machine" , and this one is getting closer to the top 50.
Chromeo - Juice* This band is so much fun. With their music as well as their videos. As of right now, this song is #72 with 3 weeks on my HOT LIST.
The Killers - Run For Cover* Looks like I'll safely be charting another big hit on my charts. I have high hopes for this one on the actual Alternative charts as well.
White Widdow - Last Chance For Love* What would a chart of mine be like without at least one 80's style Power ballad making it's way onto my weekly Top 50? White Widdow have had big success on my charts for about 8 years now. The lead singers vocals remind me so much of Jani Lane's from Warrant. The song? Think, White Snake. yeah, this will be huge on my charts next year.
Dear Rouge - Boys & Blondes* This is one I picked up on The Canadian Rock charts. Oh yeah, I make my way down under to search for great music too. This could be the best Female Indierock song, of the year, that won't chart in the U.S. This one just got a MV too.
One Bad Son - Scream For Me* What can I say about this one? Generic, Post grunge that you have heard one hundred times before? No! That wouldn't be me. I'd say Fierce adrenaline hard rock driving blast back to 2010, so comon everybody with me. "S-S-S Scream for me"
Bishop Briggs - Dream* If Bishop Briggs can find her way to my Top 50; this will be the first time I chart, one of her songs? I actually really like her vocals, but not the instruments she chooses in her other songs. This song gives a simpler sound, and I really love the vibe; this song, and especially the MV gives. I know that is not her band, but the image and the instruments, really fit the song.
Dreamers - Painkiller* This will also be the first time a chart a song by this band. I'm still not sold on that intro, but it doesn't last long, and soon after the guitars kick in. I wish the song just started with the guitars, cuz That's what really caught my ear.
White Reaper - Judy French* Who else thought Alexandra Daddario was moonlighting in this band? This is a hot rocking number you'll start seeing in my top 50 come 2018.
Wombats - Lemon To A Knife Fight* Are you ready for another great song, that the actual Alt chart will probably pass on? The Wombats have always had success on my charts, and this one, right here, is my brand of Indierock.
The Neighborhood - Scary Love* Not since "Sweater Wheather", has this band scored big on my top 50. This could be the comeback hit for them? It's also already on the actual Alt charts too, so that's a good sign.
*So I'm shooting to start the actual Top 185 songs of 2017 sometime this weekend? yes. That's Right, I charted 185 songs this year. Some are still very new to the top 50, but still get a slot. So see you all there.

and with that, We are on our way to counting down my top 185 songs of 2017. A few things before we get started. The series of numbers under the song are the song's chart history. I started doing this in 2017, so if a song charted towards the end of 2016, you will simply see (2017) in front of the numbers, but the wks the song spent on the chat will appear next to the heading Wks. I also get some information about the band off wiki or their facebook page.
Dr. Indie's Top 185 of 2017
185. 01 Dutchess Says - I Repeat Myself (50)* 50- Canadian Punk band from Montreal. The call their genre of music "Moog Rock", but they caught my ear with this New Wave revival song.Peak: 50Wks: 1

184. 01 Everything Everything - Desire (49)*49-Here is an Indie Prog rock band I discovered on our own Rock tournaments last year. You will run into that song later on , on the list. This is the newest song that is striking all right cords with me. This one will surely be back next year at a much much higher position. I haven't found album single art for this song, so I created my own with this really cool photo I found of the band online.Peak: 49Wks: 1

183. 01 Kindest Cuts - F.D.N.E (49)49-This song spent many weeks on my HOT LIST before finally breaking into the top 50 for one week. The synths riffs reminded of what Depeche Mode's "dark Wave" style of the 80's.Peak: 49Wks: 1

182. 01 Go West - Determination (46)*46-Here is another song off the "Fly: Songs Inspired By The Film Eddie The Eagle". Go West are one of my favorite Sophistipop bands of the 80's. You might remember songs like "We Close Our Eyes", "Call Me" or the big 90's hits; "Faithful" ,and "King Of Wishful Thinking" off the "Pretty Woman" soundtrack. "Determination" sounds exactly like they would have in the 80's , and though this record came out in 2016, I'll probably still be charting this song throughout 2018. Peak: 46Wks: 1

181. 02 Demi Lovato - Sexy Dirty Love (47)*50-47-It's odd for Demi to come in so low on one of my year end lists, but this song just came out, and with only two weeks on my chart, it barely getting ready to cause havok. This is another one to watch out for in 2018. I hope this song gets a proper music video in 2018 too.Peak: 47

179. 04 COIN - I Don't Wanna Dance (2 weeks #48)49-49-48-48-offHere is an Indiepop band that has been around since 2013. I know cuz I've charted them a few times before. The finally broke big on alternative radio in 2016. They also have 2 songs on my list for 2017. This is the second single off "How Will You Know If You Never Try". I might have overlooked this album, because I'm listening to it right now, and there just might be a few more songs I need to chart?Peak: 48Wks: 4

178. 04 Skillet - The Resistance (47)* 49-47-49-48-Skillet is a rock band I have been charting for many years. "Monster" remains to be one of my favorites from the band, so I'm always excited to see they release new material. This song caught my ear, in particular for the fierce guitar solo at the end of the song. At four weeks , this song is fairly new to my chart, so it will return next year.Peak: 47Wks: 4

177. 03 DWNTWN - Bloodshot Eyes (45)* 49-47-45-Those who follow my charts, know I have been charting this Los Angeles, based, Indiepop band since 2012. With a brand new album out in 2017, they are back on the indie charts. This song has a perfect vibe for an Alternative chart. It's more guitar based than their previous synthpop, and the male/female ,duo vocals, work especially well throughout the song. This would be, yet another preview of one of my future big hits of 2018.Peak: 45Wks: 3

They have a perfect 80's vibe, that I decided to start charting another track called "She Talks". This one has a bit of a Naked Eyes/Erasure style to it. Yup. You guessed it. 175. 04 Moving Units - House Of Dolls (47) 50-48-47-49-offThis is an Indierock band I discovered on Soundcloud off thier album "Handle With Care". Their sound is like The Hundred Days, mixing the synths with infectuous catchy bass lines that wouldn't sound out of place in an underground dance club. Never mind the album art. I wanted to use the album's image for the single art, but screwed up the song's title. Peak: 47Wks: 4

174. 05 Carly Rae Jepsen - Cut To The Feeling (47) 48-48-48-48-47-offAs I have mentioned before; Carly is never too far away from my chart. Her and DEmi's high octane vocals are what moves me when it comes to Pop music. This year she charted two songs. I guess they were big hits on CHR. idk, but i thought they were great. Anyway, the song didn't even have a video when I was charting it. I also made my own Single sleeve art, cuz I wanna see her image when I listen to the song.

173. 04 Bulletrain - Fear (45) 49-47-45-49-offFor the last few years, there has been a big rebirth of Melodic Metal in Europe, and I for one have jumped on that train. Labels like Metal Heaven Records, AOr Heaven and Frontiers Records are responsible for bringing many of the 80's Metal bands back into the light. Bullet Train is popular in Their home country, Sweden. In fact much of the Metal sound is coming out of Swedish bands are inspired by the same Glam?Metal bands of the 80's. This was a top 5 hit on my Weekly Metal Chart before crossing over to my actual top 50.Peak: 45Wks: 4

172. 05 AIRBAG - Huracan' (47) 48-48-49-47-49-offEver wonder what bands like AC/DC and Airbourne, would sound like singing in Spanish? This is exactly where this Argentenain Rock band get their inspiration from. This is a bnd I have been charting since 2006. They had more of a Poprock sound, but they were also just teens. By 2011 their sound had matured in music and in vocals. "Mi sensación" is still one of my favorites from them.Peak: 47Wks: 5

171. 02 Kobra and the Lotus - Light Me Up (40)* 45-40-This is a brand new song, that you can bet is gong to be huge on my 2018 weekly charts. Those who know me, know I love Female vocals, and female vocals in rock is my specialty. It has everything to do with the huge operatic ranges these vocalists have. This is a massive Power ballad with all the ingredients I crave in Metal. In just two short weeks, it's already in my top 40 hits of the week. The Single sleeve art is also an original, that I created because the image of the band fits perfect with the song's title. A gorgeous Metal song, that I can't wait to replay, the moment it finishes.Peak: 40Wks: 2

170. 04 Atlas Genius - 63 Days (44) 50-46-44-49-offWhat happens when the band that released one of my favorite songs of all time, follows up that success with a flop? I give it pity chart action. I tried so much to get into this song, but it seemed like such a let down after the great songs on "Inanimate Objects" . In particular the massive chart run that "Molecules" had on my charts. I still think "63 Days" is a decent song, but I burnt out on it rather quick. I kept it in my Hot List for weeks after it dropped out of my top 50, but it just never rebounded. I do hope they release something new in 2018?Peak: 44Wks: 4

169. 04 Cold War Kids - Love Is Mystical (43) 50-46-43-47-offHere is a band that has had major success on The Alternative charts, but only minimal success on my top 50. "Miracle Mile" has been the only other song I have charted from the band. I got into this song, mainly for the pianos. I think they created great melody for his vocals to sing to. In other news, I have been getting into "So Tied Up", for that same Piano vibe, and Bishop Brigg's vocals, so they might make a return visit to my charts soon?Peak: 43Wks: 4

168. 04 Compact Disk Dummies - Remain In Light (43)* 50-48-46-43-Up next we have another new comer to my top 50. It's from the ,Belgium, Dark Wave band; Compact Disc Dummies. This song spent half a year on my HOT LISt(below Top 50 song), before finally climbing into the top 50. With the dark wave releases of MGMT and others; I suddenly really got into this song again. The music video has to be seen to be believed. The concept of them slowing being taken apart by kids as he sings , is just the start of what happens to these poor mates.

166. 06 September Mourning - Superhuman (42)* 49- 48-47-45-44-42-We are up to the Metal band that caused quite a stir on my weekly charts this year. You will surely run into September Mouring way up on my list gain. For now, this is the third track that I decided to chart. A former top 3 hit on my Weekly Metal charts is now on the rampage and just about to crack the top 40.Peak: 42Wks: 6

...and of course I have made mistake #1 on this list. Seems I skipped #167, but here it is. 167. 06 Through Fire - Breathe (45) 49-49-48-47-45-49-off This is the first song I charted from this hard rocking band, originating from Omaha Nebraska. This is a great Power ballad and second single off their album of the same name. I may have underestimated this song, as I'm now really into it after previewing the whole album, but since I'm not here to rewrite history; number 45 is where it peaked on my weekly chart. If I could rewrite history, I would probably take it top 10? The band does return later with their current charting rocker, "Where You Lie"

165. 07 Sir Sly - High (42) 50-49-48-45-45-42-45-offHere is a song I probably would have been much more into a few years back? It's great Indiepop bop, that just missed cracking my top 40. "Haunt Me" still remains to be thier biggest charting single on my top 50. Peak: 42Wks: 7

164. 06 Paramore - Told You So (2 weeks #42) 50-48-46-44-42-42-offThis is the second track off "After Laughter" I decided to chart after "Hard Times". It recently fell off my top 50, in exchanged for "Fake Happy", but it is still a wonderful song that I plan to bring back in 2018, after "Fake Happy" is done. I also made my own single sleeve art, which appears under the actual sleeve art for the song.
