136. 10 Against The Current - Running With The Wild Things (35) (2017) 40-39-39-42-41-37-35-37-43-offAgainst The Current is a band I've had my ear on for many years. They have been a youtube favorite for quite sometime and also a favorite on my HOT LIST with such hits as "Talk" , "Paralyzed" and the very early Demi Lovato sounding, "Another You (Another Way)". They have an incredible Paramore ,Poppunk ,vibe to their music. This year they finally broke out with the very catchy, "Running With The Wild Things"Peak: 35Wks: 10

135. 10 The Pretenders - Holy Commotion (35) 48-44-40-38-36-36-35-37-36-38-offUp next is a song by another 80's icon comback. I discovered this song on the mediabase AAA charts. Pity this didn't get Alternative action. I think it would have been a perfect song to bring them back to the spotlight if it had been given proper promotion?. Peak: 35Wks: 10

134. 12 Night Ranger - Don't Let Up (34)* 50-47-45-43-39-38-35-37-36-35-34-36-The 80's action continues on my year end chart with one of my favorite AOR bands of any era. Night Ranger have never stopped making music. They might have been The Damn Yankees during the 90's, but atill had that same melodic rock vibe. Twelve albums later, and with a promising sound start on Frontiers Music label, They sound better than ever. This song has spent 12 weeks in my 30-40 range, but it's still going strong and could still make some upward movement in 2018?

This one comes off her "Emotion side -B" compilation. I think I can safely say, Carly is my favorite Canadian Pop Female artist of the moment, and this song, is just one of the many reasons why.Peak: 33Wks: 13

132. 13 Death From Above - Freeze Me (2 weeks #34) 50-48-47-46-42-40-38-37-36-35-34-34-38-off This Indierock band has only been on my personal chart twice, but I really love both songs. The first was an Alternative chart favorite called "Trainwreck 1979", which made sense because of their former band name, Death From Above 1979. I guess what I really loved about this new single was the union of the guitars and what sounded like a horns section. The screaming chorus was the bonus.

131. 10 Station - With Me Tonight (32) (2017) 38-43-37-34-32-34-off Next up is the Metal Powerballad from Station. This album was actually released in 2015, but after hearing that Whitesnake vibe, I knew I had to chart it this year. Statuion are one of the leading European bands bringing back the AOR Metal sound of the 80's. This song started it's chart run in my 2016 before bowing out at #34. There are still some great songs on that debut album, so this might not be the last time we see Station on my charts.Peak: 32Wks: 10

130. 11 Computer Magic - Fuzz (32) (2017) 34-37-40-32-36-off Computer Magic is a Brooklyn based Synthpop band that got their big break, on my 2016 weekly charts. "Fuzz has a really cool 80's synthpop vibe. Song and Music Video alike. This song caught my ear for it's contrast during the New Wave sounding verses and the very poppy chorus. Think Ladytron with Human League. I also entered this song in one of the indie Tournaments, where it did fairly well.Peak: 32Wks: 11

129. 08 Playa Limbo - Mi Perdición (30)* 48-47-43-40-38-36-32-30-We are up to one of the hottest songs on my charts right now. It's from the Mexican Pop band, Playa Limbo. I've been charting this band since the early 2000s. back when ;María León, was thier lead singer. This year they debuted a new lead singer; Jass Reyes . The band, and her sound, and look, hotter than ever. This is what I consider great sounding pop music. No "commercial jingles" here. Just great music with horns section, perfect vocals and larger than life choruses. At just eight short weeks, this song is already in my top 30, and looking to go top 10 very soon.Peak: 30Wks: 8

Weather it be 80s, 90's or 2000's ,U2 has dealt out hit after hit. They always make an appearance on my year end charts too. This year they released new material; that IMOP opinion sounds like they are scared to rock like they have in their previous years. I did find this song to be decent enough to give some chart action too, tho. At fourteen weeks, it's still on my charts, but with so much competition, I fear it might have reached it's peak?

127. 11 Miss Caffeina - Acido (32) 49-47-44-41-39-38-34-32-34-34-37-offMiss Caffeina is a Spanish Indiepop band that had a huge hit on my charts with "Mire Como Vuelo". The second single off thier album had a more subdued Pop sound, but still very ccol. It reminded a bit of Azul Violeta's style. I had "Acido" in my HOT LIST, before I decided to start charting it. I like this one for it's Aleks Syntek disco vibe, but that guitar solo towards the end was really what caught my ear. The third single was released two months ago. It's called "Detroit". This one has a Zoe vibe, so expect Miss Caffeina charting again very soon.Peak: 32Wks: 11

126. 09 Tyketto - Reach (30) 46-39-36-34-31-30-31-39-off We are up to the hair Metal Band, Tyketto. This band got their start in the early 90's, right about the time Hair Metal was on it's last tank of oxygen. This year , after a 5 year hiatus, they released new material on Frontiers Music label. "Reach"; the title track is a great song, with some extraordinary guitar works, that should have been a big Active hit as well. "Kick Like A Mule" is another great rocker. I think I should be in Europe, to get the full effect, of the hair Metal rebirth those lucky SOBs are expirencing right now?

five songs to go, then I gotta go eat something, cuz these Dos XX, are starting to take their effect. 125. 10 Eclipse - Never Look Back (30) 49-47-44-42-39-37-33-31-30-39- offMore Frontiers Music label, Melodic Metal makes the cut this year. It's from the Swedish band, Eclipse. This one follows the melody of that Classic from the Scorpions; "Rock You LIke A Hurrican" it even borrow a line from it in the chorus. Anyway, this is pure adrenaline driving Hard Rock Metal that you can pump iron to, that I couldn't turn a deaf ear to. "Vertigo" is another melodic monster with promising sights on my chart.

Once you listen to the song, It won't take you too long to realize why this is one of the hottest rising songs on my chart right now? All I can say is , Powerpop by The Cars and Fountains Of Wayne; Particularly "Stacys Mom", should come to mind with this bubble gum pop extravaganza.Peak: 25Wks: 6

123. 07 The Horrors - Something To Remember Me By (24)* 46-37-33-31-30-26-24-Some of you have already heard this one in the tournaments. It's one of the songs on team Dr. Indie. This band have been popular for yrars on my side of the border. They have gone though various musical styles through the years, but always come back to that 80's vibe. This new song is very 80's and you really have to listen to the +5 minute song to get that effect. here you are getyting a first glimpse of one of my future #1 songs for 2018. I've already gone nuts with the Sleeve art. The original is very cool, but here is one of my originals too. Complete with that 45's single look.Peak: 24Wks: 7

If you take a look at my Vinyl collection ; you will find about 12 Lps from this band. Including 45's Box sets and videos. This year they released, Bang, Zoom, Crazy... Hello, with a bunch of great songs. They had more of a garage vibe than Powerpop, but this one really caught my ear. It was also a moderate hit on Active chart. You can chalk this one up as another top 30 hit, for an iconic band.Peak: 29Wks: 11

Ok everyone, Last one for now. I'll tray to post a few more tonight. maybe even the full 20 before we reach the top 100? This is a big one. It's from Arcade Fire. Truthfully; I really never got into their songs until 2013's "Reflektor". Man did I love the vibe on that record. "Everything Now", returned with a bit of that Disco vibe, by injecting a bit of ABBA into the piano cords. Lately I've been spinning a lot of "Creature Comfort: so that one might get some top 50 action soon? 121. 12 Arcade Fire - Everything Now (2 weeks #29) 50- 47-44-40-36-33-31-29-29-33-44-49-offPeak: 29Wks: 12

"Fingertip" has that perfect big Pop music sound that I love. The music style, recalls Michael Jackson a,nd other big pop stars of the 80's. This was also a big hit on K-villes's Kpop weekly top 60. The sleeve art ,is one of the two I was showcasing during the songs chartrun on my top 50.Peak: 30Wks: 16

It has a sea-saw effect week after week, on my top 50, but I still dig the Indiepop sound it has. I still can't believe it has become the biggest selling Alternative song in history. At least by weeks at #1. 20 weeks. That's crazy.Peak: 26Wks: 9

117. 06 Cut Copy - Black Rainbows (23)* 41-38-34-31-27-23- A lot of my favorite new songs are showing up just under my top 100. Which means they will return in 2018. This song has so much 80's vibe, that its almost criminal that Alt shunned it. Right off the back it reminded me of the first big hot from Saint Motel. The musical and vocal arrangements are exactly the style, in the type of song that has longevity on my top 50. This one is heading to the top 10 very soon.Peak: 23Wks : 6

116. 16 Waking Skies - Sleepless Nights (28) (2017) 36-34-33-31-30-28-36-off A very special Indierock band; Waking Skies, is up next. I discovered this band on youtube. I'm guessing they are Danish, because I cannot even read the language their websites are written in. You can't get anymore Indie that that. This song was released in 2015, but I had to chart it in 2016,because it reminded me so much of the Spanish Poprock band La Oreja De van Gogh. Early ,ODVG with Amaia Montero when they still rocked. I wish I knew more about the band. I know that are European, that's for sure. Peak: 28Wks: 16

I got this one several members' personal charts. It's a country song but has a slight 80's vibe with the bass. I loved this one so much I kept it on my charts for a full 17 weeks. Maren has some amazing vocals and is cute as a button too. I want to imagine this was a big hit on the pop Hot 100 too. Or at least HOT AC? Peak: 30Wks: 17

113. 10 DREAMCAR - Slip On The Moon (22)* 46-42-37-35-32-30-30-28-25-22-Here is a band, we are going to keep running into, before this list is done. I never imagined finding another record where I loved every song. The last one that gave me that pleasure , was Candy-O by The Cars, and that's from 1979, so you can imagine how excited I got the first time I heard this record. "Slip On The Moon" is another song I am currently charting from the band. It's another of my new songs that will surely return thoughout the 2018 year. It's also my second favorite song on the record, so it could go #1? The original sleeve work I did is one of my proudest. I tried to find an image that best captures the vibe they are using for the sleeves of their current singles. I kept the logo intact, and really love the image with the moon in the backround.Peak: 22Wks: 10

One of the reasons I love this song is that the vocals have a bit of Tyler Conelly vibe to it. In fact, the song itself has that early TOAD style. This would be the first time I chart Shaman's Harvest. They have made my HOT LIST a few times before, but this is the song that caught my attention for it's guitar groove and cowbell. This was also a moderate hit on Active chart. I think I peaked it around the same position as they did too? Peak: 26Wks: 14

110. 11 Chevelle - Shameful Metaphors (21)* 48-41-37-33-30-28-26-25-24-23-21-We are up to a very special song on my chart, because it's around 7 years old. It's a song I never even knew existed until on of the active rankdown we did. What's even funnier is; that's it's from a band I don't always consider the most melodic on the block, but this song hit the spot in more ways than one. Seldom do I like a song so much that I decide to chart after so many years, but here it is, and will probably be here next year too. Finally found the MV for it too. It's a great performance MV that fits the vibe of the song.

This is a great British Indierock band that has has success on my charts. Their first single; "Future Pleasures" was a huge hit on my charts, because of it's 80's New Wave vibe. This is a catchy melodic number that further shows their musical talent. Watch out for the horns section. It's such an "ear gasm" Peak: 24Wks: 14
