..and with that we enter the top 5 biggest songs of my music year. AFI's album; "Blood" was actually released in 2016, as was the song "Snow Cats", but it failed to become the anticipated hit on the actual charts. I charted it at the same time, but chose to ignore, Billboard's, stupid decision ,to send it recurrent ,and instead, took it straight to Number 1 for 1 whole month. This also closes out AFI's highest charting song on this year's list. As expected; "Snow Cats", has become my favorite; AFI ,song ,of all time too. at #4 we come to the French; indiepop band ,Phoenix. This band has been around since the late 90's but really broke out in the music scene in 2009 with thier LP; Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. To be honest, I have been slowly getting into this band. Their fist big charting singles were moderate hits on my top 50, but it wasn't till ; Trying To Be Cool" ,that they scored their first top 10 on my chart. This year; I have become a huge fan of this band, mostly because their album, "Ti Amo" has such a perfect 80's vibe. This year; Phoemix score their biggest hit ever on my charts, by taking the title track off "Ti Amo" and going all the way to #1. favorite part of the song? That bass in the intro, and breaks. At #3 is the former Alternative rock band, Paramore. I say that jokingly, because they really changed their sound this year, but the gamble payed off. Who would have thought they had that perfect Indiepop sound brewing inside of them? However; the first time I heard "Hard Times" I knew it would be one of my favorite songs of 2017. One whole month at the #1 position and a spectacular chartrun of 26 weeks, put Paramore in my top 3 of 2017. BTW; has anyone ever tried to decipher what she is whispering during the last solo of the song. before we get to #2; let me clarify one important thing. Fitz and The Tantrums are one of my favorite Indiepop bands out there. You don't score the #1 song on my year end charts two years in a row, and then suddenly drop off my charts forever. I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of "HandClap" at all. That song barely grazed my #40 slot, but This song here, brought back that uptempo beat I love from the band to begin with. This band has two styles. The neo-soul style of "3 AM:" and "MoneyGrabber" and the fun upbeat style of "Out Of My League". Roll Up" fall in the "just can't resist getting up and dancing to" category. This song was already in my top 3 on the 2017 Alternative ranking, so here it is again, all the way up at #2. We are up to my number one song of 2017. Every year the alt format delivers at least one song that I can get 100% behind and usually even make it my favorite of the year. If you haven't guessed it by now; you either been living under a rock or you have no idea who I am? but of course my #1 song is "Kill For Candy" by DREAMCAR. What else could it be? You have the amazing vocal skills of Davey Havok; who incidently;if you count his other two bands, scores 7 songs on my year end list. That's chart power. This year his super band; which consists of the best part of No Doubt; DREAMCAR ,domintaed my listening pleasures all year through. Their debut album is also my favorite of the year. I love every song of that record, and will surely be charting a few more in 2018. That's including "All The Dead Girls" and "Slip On The Moon", who just got their start on my top 50. Which means; you could be seeing another 8 appearences by DREAMCAR, next year as well. I also must add that "kill For Candy" came in at #6 on our very own Alternative rankdown of Alt year 2017, and at #5, on my favorite Alternative rock station. 91x. Finally, lets touch on the music video, which I've probably viewed more than 50 times. For me it sorta tells the story of the band coming together and filming their first MV together. They meet up , hug and jump right on stage, where the performance, It also shows the perfect chemestry the musicians have with one another. The awesome, neon colors, are another bonus for any 80's lover, and of course Davey gets the hot babe at the end. I wouldn't have expected anything else for your #1, but it's a damn great #1! I think I first heard of "Kill for Candy" on your chart, and here we are, with it making it all the way up to #2 on my Alt 2017 rankdown list. It's honestly one of the best Alt songs I heard this year.
Also I'm so happy that Brave Girls finished so high up your chart!!

I really tried getting into that Dreamcar song earlier last year and it never hooked me in. Seeing it as your #1 and also seeing it somewhere on Doc Indie Party Rock 's list too makes me want to re-revisit it though.
