Lewis released both an acoustic and a live version of Before You Go this week. He's also released them on physical CD. He's gunning hard for that #1.

^I wasn't aware of that. I would love him to get that #1 since it is my favorite song from him so far, even though Blinding Lights might get blocked from reaching #1 in the process.

Welp Brexit has taken over iTunes with Remainers backing "Ode To Joy" and Leavers backing "17 Million F**k-Offs". Though neither song is top 200 on Spotify, so they might not even be top 40 on Friday.
1 André Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra - Ode to Joy (Final Movement from Symphony No.9, Op.125 / Live) 1.0000 2 Dominic Frisby - 17 Million F**k-Offs (2020 Update) 0.6553 3 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights $ 0.5872

30 January 2020
The song has been streamed over 1.6 million times in the last two weeks thanks to a new Break My Stride challenge on social media app Tik Tok.
By Jack White
Break My Stride, a one-hit wonder released by Matthew Wilder in the 1980s, is back in the Official UK Charts thanks to a new viral challenge on social media app Tik Tok.
Called the #BreakMyStrideChallenge, Tik Tok users are texting the song's lyrics to friends, wondering if the friend will catch on to knowing the song once the words to the famous chorus are messaged to them.
Some people however don't know the song at all, and have no idea what their friend is talking about when they say "Last night I had the strangest dream, I sailed away to China."
Users play the song over a video of the hilarious text message trails, overlaying their video reactions and sometimes dancing along too. Why is this happening? We have no idea, but it's great.
Break My Stride reached Number 4 in 1984 Matthew's only UK Top 40 single. The follow-up The Kid's American topped out at Number 93 and the New Yorker didn't see the charts again... until now!
Break My Stride re-entered the Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the first time in nearly 36 years last Friday at Number 100 and has been streamed over 1.6 million times over the last fortnight. So far this week, the song has been played a further 910,000 times (boosted by a new lyric video).
The video sharing app has led to modern songs such as Roddy Ricch's The Box and Roxanne by Arizona Zervas entering the charts for the first time, but now it has revived an 80s classic's popularity nearly four decades on from its original release.
Looks like Matthew's brand new stride won't be broken any time soon.

Just noticed that Perfect re-entered the Singles chart. It seems the other Ed Sheeran songs suddenly had the ACR applied this week. It also seems some of the songs by other artists with quite more than the 9 minimum weeks had the rule applied to them, resulting in huge drops.

It makes no sense how a song can chart for 100+ weeks but have an ACR rule on number 1’s... this chart is a mess i can’t

Also Dance Monkey would've had an additional 4 weeks at #1 (so 15 weeks total) if it weren't for the ACR rule.

Plus Dua Lipa's new song Physical is set to be this week's highest new entry on the Official Singles Chart. 02 February 2020
By Rob Copsey
The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights is on course to claim this week’s Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, currently up one place to 1 on today's Official Chart: First Look (Feb 2).
The Canadian singer looks set to knock last week’s chart-topper, Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi, to 2. If Blinding Lights holds on, it’ll be The Weeknd's first chart-topper in the UK. His previous best was 2016’s Number 2-peaking Starboy. View The Weeknd's full Official UK Chart history.
Dua Lipa is flexing in a big way this week: her new single Physical looks like it’ll be the highest new entry on Friday’s Official Singles Chart, currently at 11, while previous single Don’t Start Now is at 4. See where all of Dua's songs have charted here.
YouTuber and boxing champion KSI is on track to land his third UK Top 40 single; new release Wake Up Call ft. US rapper Trippie Redd starts at 16.

It's been a ten-week journey to the top for the Canadian artist.
The Weeknd earns his first ever UK Number 1 song with Blinding Lights, completing a ten-week journey to the top of the Official Singles Chart.
The Canadian singer finally clinches the top spot in the UK with the track, besting his previous performance with 2016’s Number 2 hit Starboy. Blinding Lights initially debuted at Number 14 last December, before briefly dipping outside the Top 40 at the end of 2019 and making a triumphant return in the new year. View The Weeknd's Official UK Chart history in full.
The ‘80s-inspired song finished on 63,000 chart sales this week, 8,000 ahead of its closest competition, The Box by Roddy Ricch, which returns to its peak of Number 2, claiming the highest streaming figures of the week.
Meanwhile, KSI scores the week’s highest new entry with Wake Up Call ft. Trippie Redd, marking the YouTuber-turned-musician’s third Top 40 single. Only 100 chart sales behind, Dua Lipa lands a Number 12 debut with her latest single Physical. See Dua Lipa's full Official Chart history.
Halsey climbs seven places to Number 17 with You Should Be Sad, while Billie Eilish returns to the Top 20 with Bad Guy, up eight at 18. Guyanese-American artist Saint Jhn flies 19 places to 21 with Roses following the viral success of a remix by Khazak producer Imanbek.
Elsewhere, Joel Corry claims the week’s biggest rise with Lonely, up 31 places to Number 30 to become his second Top 40 hit. Jonas Brothers rise three with to 31 with What A Man Gotta Do following their UK arena shows this week.
Finally, two more new arrivals into the Top 40 come from US rapper and singer Doja Cat, who lifts ten places to make her UK Top 40 debut at 35 with Say So, and Becky Hill’s Better Off Without You ft. Shift K3y climbs six places to 36. It’s the British singer-songwriter’s first Top 40 hit as a headline artist, following a sting of successful collaborations with the likes of Sigala, Meduza and MK.

Big ouch at Megan and Kesha's albums
I was hoping Physical would debut top 10, but hopefully it'll climb in the coming weeks.

^Ouch as well for Lil Wayne's album ... I guess the Brits do love Louis Tomlinson. I do agree Physical deserves being in the top 10.

also, Someone You Loved at #6?? whaat? that song is old as f**k.... Yeah it was #9 this week last year. SYL needs to hurry up back to ACR, but it increased this week, so at least another 3 weeks to go. Chart run: 100-x-66-29-13-10-9-3-3-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3-4-3-4-3-3-3-3-11-14-10-13-14-19-22-25-23-19-23-21-27-28-24-19-23-18-20-23-25-31-28-26-34-27-38-58-15-7-7-10-9-6- Soo 26 weeks in the top 10. And it would've had even more without ACR rules. I think it's fair to say SYL is one of the biggest hits in UK chart history. Why this of all songs though? I really don't know.

Plus new entry for Justin Bieber ft. Quavo, and big climbs for Saint Jhn and Joel Corry.
By Lauren Kreisler
Fresh from securing the first UK Number 1 single of his career last Friday, The Weeknd is heading for a second week at the top with Blinding Lights, while the raunchy return of Pussycat Dolls puts Nicole and Scherzinger and co on track for their first Official Chart appearance in a decade.
Pussycat Dolls have pulled out all the stops to grab our attention with sizzling new comeback single React - a hair flip-inducing chorus, a not-so-subtle accompanying video, a steamy reunion performance on The X Factor Celebrity final that triggered over 400 complaints to broadcasting regulator Ofcom for their outfits and stage show being too raunchy for family viewing - The Dolls have left no stone unturned.
React starts out as the highest new entry of the week so far (15), their first in over ten years. The now five-piece US girl group, whose members this time around comprise Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta and Carmit Bachar, last entered the Official Chart with Hush Hush Hush Hush way back in June 2009. Revisit all the Pussycat Dolls’ singles and where they charted.
Big climbs are underway for rapper and singer/songwriter Saint Jhn and Joel Corry. Saint Jhn’s Roses continues its unbroken five-week ascent up the Top 100, this time leaping from Number 21 all the way into the Top 10 – Roses is Number 8 this week after 48 hours.
We caught up with DJ/producer Joel Corry who found fame on Love Island with his debut single Sorry, to discuss the science behind producing a club banger, as Lonely is set to rise again this week, currently up 12 places to Number 18 midweek.
And finally, Justin Bieber’s Intentions ft. Quavo is currently second highest new entry of the week (16). Bieber uses the video to highlight Los Angeles-based charity Alexandria House, which offers housing for women and children transitioning out of shelters. Along with rapper Quavo from Migos, the singer spotlights the stories of a struggling student, a foster care advocate, and a poet inspired by her homelessness. The music video announces that an Intentions fund of $200,000 has been set up to aid the organisation's continuing work.

Plus Justin Bieber & Quavo take the lead on six new Top 40 entries with Intentions
The Weeknd rockets ahead on this week’s Official Singles Chart as he claims a second week at Number 1 with Blinding Lights.
The track finishes the week almost 11,000 chart sales ahead of its closest competition and is the most downloaded song of the week.
US rapper Roddy Ricch hangs on to Number 2 with viral hit The Box, but scores the highest streaming count of the week with 7 million plays. Saint Jhn zooms into the Top 10 with Roses, up 13 places to Number 8, and just outside the Top 10, Halsey jumps five places to 12 with You Should Be Sad.
Justin Bieber claims this week’s highest new entry at Number 14 with Intentions ft. Quavo. Proceeds from the song are going to Alexandria House, an LA-based not-for-profit which works to help women and children move from crisis to stability.
Joel Corry’s latest track Lonely zooms up 14 places to 16, earning him a second Top 20 hit; Jonas Brothers climb nine spots to 22 with What A Man Gotta Do; and Becky Hill’s Better Off Without You ft. Shift K3y rises 12 places to 24.
More big climbers this week: US singer and rapper Doja Cat lifts ten to 25 with Say So, and Dermot Kennedy claims his second Top 40 single with Power Over Me. After a six-week climb up the Top 100, the song leaps 16 spots this week to Number 27.
Elsewhere, Pussycat Dolls’ comeback single React debuts at Number 29. It’s the group’s first new music in almost a decade and their first Top 40 hit since 2009’s Hush Hush; Hush Hush, which peaked at 17.
Four further new entries debut in the Top 40: Destined For Greatness by YouTuber siblings Tobi & Manny ft. Janelle (31), London by M24 ft. Tion Wayne (32), Know Your Worth by Khalid & Disclosure (34) and Anne Marie’s Birthday (36).
Finally, it’s a second Top 40 for YNW Melly with Suicidal (37) and US record producer Mustard lands his first Top 40 with Ballin’ ft. Roddy Ricch (38).

No Time To Die debuts at #1 on Spotify with 1,094,688 streams! About twice as much as The Box and Blinding Lights. Billie should get her first UK #1 then! Justice for Bad Guy peaking at 2.

Bille's set to become a new type of "Bond girl":
Is the US singer about to become only the second artist in history to take a Bond theme all the way to the top of the Official Chart? 16 February 2020 By Lauren Kreisler
Billie Eilish looks set to not only score her first UK Number 1 single on Friday, but also become only the second act in history to reach Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with a Bond theme, as No Time To Die heads for the top of this week’s chart.
18 year-old US singer Billie is the youngest artist to record a Bond theme and is due to perform the new track at Tuesday night’s BRIT Awards ceremony in London.
Billie broke Official Chart records in April 2019 when she became the youngest artist to score a Number 1 album with debut release When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? A Number 1 single in the UK however has so far escaped her, but that all looks set to change this week as dramatic ballad No Time To Die powers into the lead on both sales and streams.
The first and only artist to reach Number 1 with a Bond theme was Sam Smith with Writing’s On The Wall in 2015. See where every James Bond theme charted.
Reigning chart topper The Weeknd slips to Number 2 midweek, while the second highest new entry of the week so far comes courtesy of Sam Smith as To Die For starts out at Number 20 after 48 hours.
Justin Bieber’s Yummy (10) gains three places since Friday, while Billie Eilish’s current highest charting single to date, Bad Guy, rebounds 5 places to Number 14 – the song previously peaked at Number 2 in April 2019. Add to this Everything I Wanted, a non-mover at 9, and Billie is on track to scoop a trio of entries in Friday’s Top 20.
