Ok am I the only one who has flashbacks to the Kelsea Ballerini music video for "Peter Pan" when I see that add? I swear the setting of that shot looks awfully similar to that of the "Peter Pan" music video.

"Mercy" is a beautifully written song and I I fell in love with it first time I heard it. This is my favorite Brett Young song to date. As for the video, a truly wonderful work, from the beauty of the set which does hold a similarity to Kelsea Ballerini's "Peter Pan," to the way Brett made me feel the emotion of the song. Anyone know, if his love interest is his fiancee? If so, that is icing on cake.

Solid video for a solid song. You can hear the heartbreak in his voice when he sings this song. I can’t remember the last time I heard a song where the vocalist was so in tune with the lyrics emotionally.

Video is simple but stunning in composition. Loved it. I teared up near the end so it did the trick for me. Still in love with this song and looking forward to it being another big smash for him. It's already selling really well for the minimal airplay its received so far. I think it'd be cool if this got some crossover play on maybe the Hot AC/AC formats. It could definitely work there as well imo.

I like the video a lot and I think it's really going to help this one be a big hit all around. "Mercy" is already up to #88 on iTunes today, an increase of nearly 20 positions from yesterday. Only one other song (Dan + Shay's "Tequila") that's currently outside the Mediabase top 20 is out-selling this one, and Brett is out-selling a number of songs that are top 20 at radio, including those by Brett Eldredge, High Valley, Darius Rucker, Granger Smith, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, and Morgan Wallen/FGL. Early indicators definitely suggest that this will likely be another big hit for Brett!  |

Was it just me, or did "Like I Loved You" have no buzz whatsoever? I only ever heard it about three times, two of which were after it fell off. The other day I took a road trip, and I heard all of BY's other singles at least three times each, including this one, but not once did I hear "Like I Loved You".
That said, I do like this one. I still think he's very generic for the most part, but "In Case You Didn't Know" was stellar, and this one has good lyrics too.

Must've just been the stations in your area, because I heard "Like I Loved You" on the radio ALL the time (which was fine by me, as I really like that one). "Mercy" continues to do very well; it's up to #22 on Billboard after just 14 weeks, and should pass Lindsay Ell, Lady A, and Dylan Scott pretty soon. After that it probably won't be much longer before Brett tracks down Michael Ray and Chris Lane. "Mercy" is also at #16 on Hot Country Songs thanks to strong sales and streaming numbers. On iTunes it was at #41 all-genre as of this morning, which is really good, and it's at #12 on the current Country Digital Song Sales chart and #13 on Country Streaming Songs. This is shaping up to be a pretty big hit, someguy! ;) I think it's going to go all the way to the top of the airplay charts before all is said and done. |

What a great song, Brett can really write a great tune. I personally like what I think is a stripped back sound from Brett Young. Hope this is a multiple week #1. So can his co-writer Sean McConnell. McConnell makes great records too. |
