Great song! Not a huge Pam Tillis fan, but I love the melody of this one and it is SO 90s

I’m actually ok with this leaving at #5. I knew it was a Pulse favorite so was inclined to think it would make it to the top 2...which I think now will be “Is There Life Out There” and “Neon Moon.”

Was hoping for higher obviously but I’m Happy with top 5 for it too!
This would compete for my favourite songs of all time honestly, it’s just utter perfection!

Glad both of these are out. MIWM is dull, and while Reba's singles were all very strong in this period, this was far and away the least impressive one for me.

so my last two Top 10's go out first two of the Top 5 lol. I love the other 3 so I'm okay with this but I was rooting for those 2 the most

Still love them all but my order of choice would be Brooks & Dunn, John Anderson, and then Reba.
I still think "Is There Life Out There" has this though.

Well based on some hints it's looking like the top two will be "Neon Moon" and "Is There Life Out There" (as predicted by .indulgecountry).

Man oh man oh man! This is ICONIC! So iconic in fact, that I once had this in my #1 slot and I didn't really need that much of a refresher on this tbh. I was literally two years old when this was on the charts and I actually remember me not being a big fan of his singing style. Now that I've gotten older though, I started to appreciate his style (not just vocals, but musicality also) and the lyrics for this song and a few others of his have hit me pretty hard. John's comeback single also marks the first song in this rankdown to have only one non-top-40 ranking; in other words, CoJoFan and I are far from the only ones who really appreciate this! This is also the third least-polarizing song in this entire rankdown! I was actually pretty nervous about John flopping in this RD pretty bad, but y'all have proven me wrong...WAY WRONG!

As I've said many times, I love "Is There Life Out There" but I would hardly consider it one of the very best songs from this year, so I'm fine with it being the runner-up.
"Neon Moon" is classic country goodness. I'm not even that big of fan of B&D, but this is definitely one of their stronger tunes. I'm happy it was able to pull of the win here.

Oh wow! I had NO IDEA Brooks & Dunn were going to trounce the competition that badly!!!! A victory for "Neon Moon" doesn't surprise me, but the fact that they were #1 for most of the submission process, and beat Reba by nearly 40 points? Holy cow! Meanwhile, the fact that I had this song at #2 is a little bit of a surprise to me. I completely forgot. But YASSSS, my #2 won! Lol

They've recorded a lot of clunkers. Do you consider their final single, "Honky Tonk Stomp", to be among those clunkers? When the B&D Rankdown happens I expect that to be dead last. There is no competition there, that song was a travesty compared to their catalog. Yeah they had some other songs that were not great but that one is pretty bad.

They've recorded a lot of clunkers. Like...? Long list... "Believe," "You Can't Take The Honky Tonk Out of The Girl," "Play Something Country," and "Honky Tonk Stomp" come to mind instantly. That said, they've recorded some amazing songs too, like "South of Santa Fe" and "How Long Gone" and "Ain't Nothin' Bout You" to name a few.

Okay. I will consider your Brooks & Dunn judgement to be acceptable then Plus yassssss I see you stanning for "Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You"!!!!! "South of Santa Fe" is hands down my favorite from them. It is SO gorgeous! You know how I love my minor keys... I'm sure that being their best song is an unpopular opinion if only for the fact that it features Kix as the lead vocalist instead of Ronnie lmao. But yes "Ain't Nothin' About You" is absolutely fantastic and would have no problem making my top 5 in a B&D rankdown!
