YES! Finally we get the Saturday Night mix easily available. I think the chilled out vibe of that one works better than the dancier remixes.

After your description I'm quite excited to listen it tomorrow. It's still dancey, just not aggressive dancey like the Perfecto and Above & Beyond mixes. I love those mixes in a certain context, but I prefer lighter mixes when I'm at home working on reports, lol.

Also, that Kid Chris mix is buried on a promo compilation that usually sells for hundreds of dollars. I'm so glad Mariah and Madge are sticking it to these greedy sellers. I mean, there's always going to be an audience for collectable physical product, but some people take it way too far with the price gouging.

The Above & Beyond mix is THE version of the song in my book. It was the version that made my personal chart. I don’t care much for the original let alone the Spanish version. But now I’m intrigued about the other versions...

That was a nice, pleasant surprise because that one was so rare. It's an underrated, unexpected mix. That Kid Chris has done some really fun mixes over the years. I love his mixes of Monica's "Get It Off", Santana/Rob Thomas' "Smooth", and Alcatraz's "Giv Me Luv."

Believe it or not, I am one of the few people who did not love the mixes of WIFLFAG. I think the lyrics to the song are very poignant and most of the mixes either remove most of the lyrics or bury the vocals behind a very cluttered beat. I like the slow groove of the original song best. I don't hate the mixes, but they are not ones that I revisit very much.
I love the video. Initially I was disappointed that they chose the mix that has the fewest lyrics in it. It is pretty much a dub that just repeats the title of the song over and over, but really does not resemble the original song at all. Artistically, I understand the use of this mix, as the visual is a frantic, desperate, and dramatic tale of revenge and someone taking back their power, which ultimately leads to her own destruction.

Thought you guys might like this. Barry Harris (of Thunderpuss and Kon Kan fame) was asked back in 2001 to do a megamix of the GHV2 album, which he did. There were a couple of megamixes released to the clubs. They also asked him to do a megamix over the music to Holiday. He stopped and started it, but felt like it wasn't working. He revisited it years later and put it out on his soundcloud.
Here is the final product. It is odd, but fun.

Also, here is his mix of Vogue.

The George Best Saturday Night Mix of WIFLFAG is so interesting. It's like the album version with club mix sound effects August maybe you'll like it more than the others because the full verses are there.

Above and Beyond should've got the chart credit for the song, at least in the UK

Above and Beyond should've got the chart credit for the song, at least in the UK I wouldn't disagree...at the very least, a "featuring" credit. It is a completely new piece of music that they produced and her vocals are barely in it.

Someone mislabeled somebody else’s mixes with their name on it and the label cancelled the release of their mixes thinking they leaked them which they didn’t do. It’s a shave because they did a good job on them.

WIFLFAG is #19 on the Pop iTunes albums chart. It is odd that Madonna does not have one single song in the Pop singles chart, yet Juice Newton has two.

I do have a theory as to why her back catalog doesn't do gangbusters like some other artists. I think at her absolute peak, she was selling millions and millions and her songs were everywhere. I think anyone who was interested in purchasing her music by this point, has already purchased it / streamed it / downloaded it. The only time we really see any of her catalog titles re-enter any charts is when they put a greatest hits collection on sale for <$10. I will say that for someone who has had as long of a career as she has, she has not released many compilations. There have only been three proper collections released (Immaculate, GHV2, and Celebration.) I am not sure she should really (or could really) rely on her back catalog for sales at this point, short of putting out an ultimate boxset of every hit, remix, and unreleased track.

As much as we love / worship her, we have to face the reality that no matter the quality of stuff she will continue to put out, her hit-making days are behind her. She will continue to get high charting albums as it doesn't take much to get a number one album these days. Though that is a nice feather in her cap and good publicity. I think she is going to continue to be a legacy performing artist that continues to sell out. Look at Billy Joel. He has not recorded an album since 1993, yet sells out Madison Sq Garden once a month. I have been trying to get a ticket to see him for the past 7 years and have never been able to score a ticket. I would love to see her do something like Bruce Springsteen did. He did a a residency on Broadway for just over a year. It kept him home, he did a few shows a week, took long breaks during the run, and sold out every show. It got critical acclaim, great press, and got him a Tony award. She could stay home, travel south 30 blocks a few times a week, and do a big show. It is not like there are not going to be a ton of theater houses available once Broadway reopens. Plus, people will be hungry to see a live performance.

I think in general, Madonna has done a poor job engaging her back-catalog and her legacy. She's always been a forward-thinking artist. She seems to have switched gears over the past year or so, acknowledging album/single anniversaries, releasing these remix EPS, the upcoming film, etc. And she's been avoiding greatest hits type tours her entire career, but I think if she did a retrospective tour, it would do gangbusters. And she's the perfect artist for a jukebox type musical. And her discography has been so neglected in terms of remasters, re-issues, etc.
There are so many possibilities for her discography, she just has to get to a point where she's comfortable being a legacy act. She can still release new music and show love to her old hits, it doesn't have to be either/or. Mariah, for example, is doing an incredible job of that right now.
