One of my top 10 Madonna songs, it’s not even about the lyrics for me, but the production and melody.
Edit: and the video is pretty epic too. Italians Do It Better :) and that short haircut. 💗

So how are things looking. Any chance that Vulgar charts on the hot 100? I assume airplay is non-existent or almost none? All points will have to come from streaming?

It's a wig, but I think she is trying out what she wants her look to be. PLEASE let her permanently go back to blond.

Gary T. neglected to mention another of Madonna's top 20 hits on the R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart: "Into the Groove," which peaked at No. 19. I was surprised to see Like a Virgin but not Into the Groove. Also wondering about Justify my love and Take a bow, which I thought could’ve reached the top 20 as well

^He updated the article after I advised him of the omission. :)
"Justify My Love" peaked at No. 42, while "Take a Bow" peaked at 40- it was sales (top 20) that propelled TAB's rank, as it didn't crack top 75 R&B airplay.

Is Vulgar a flop? Or is Roger Friedman being his usual catty self? 💅🏼 www.showbiz411.com/2023/06/15/doa-madonna-sam-smith-disco-duet-vulgar-already-off-itunes-after-6-days-streaming-dud-youtube-flopDOA: Madonna, Sam Smith Disco Duet “Vulgar” Already Off iTunes After 6 Days, Streaming Dud, YouTube Flop Well, that was fast. The much hyped duet single from “S&M” — Sam Smith and Madonna — has made the Hindenburg look like a small explosion in mid air. “Vulgar” was released a week ago tonight. It immediately went up to the top 10 on iTunes. But in reality, it failed to launch at all. By Monday the single was languishing on the middle part of the chart. Today, “Vulgar” is gone from the iTunes Top 200. Just, vanished. Dead on arrival. On YouTube, there are two videos — lyric and visual. The total plays come to just over 1 million, which sounds like a lot but is actually nothing. Over at Spotify, “Vulgar” was streamed 4 million times, which is also the equivalent of nothing. That’s the equivalent of around $12,000 in revenue. It’s also gone from Apple Music’s streaming chart. So what went wrong? “Vulgar” wasn’t a song, It wasn’t a whole record thought out, and you could hear it. At two minutes, thirty two seconds, it was maybe the chorus or hook of what could have been a song but it had no substance. There was no ‘there’ there. So nice try, Madonna and Sam Smith. They’ve burned their credibility. Unless, of course, they return with “Vulgar: The Long Version.” But the song wasn’t even vulgar. It was more like bulgur. (Not really but it sounded good.)

Madonna’s New Hit Single Shows What’s Possible When A Brand Takes A Chance www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2023/06/15/madonnas-new-hit-single-shows-whats-possible-when-a-brand-takes-a-chance/Madonna has consistently pushed boundaries throughout her career, and she has once again demonstrated that being unafraid to mix things up can lead to worthwhile results. Her latest single "Popular" a collaboration with The Weeknd and Playboi Carti, has catapulted her back onto the Billboard charts after a long time away. The tune showcases a new side of the singer, as it’s not like anything she’s released before. This unexpected success comes at a time when it seemed like Madonna had already undergone all the transformations possible and experimented with nearly too many different sounds. Throughout her illustrious career, Madonna has been predominantly associated with pop and dance music, creating numerous chart-topping hits in these genres. However, her recent foray into the world of R&B has proven to be a game-changer. With "Popular," she has managed to secure a spot on multiple Billboard charts, demonstrating her versatility and willingness to explore uncharted territories. She even landed wins on rankings she’s never reached before with her latest offering. Despite not being well-versed in R&B, Madonna fearlessly embraced the challenge, ultimately achieving success in this new genre. The lesson here is clear: embracing new opportunities and venturing outside one's comfort zone can yield remarkable outcomes. Madonna's ability to continuously reintroduce herself as something different—but still familiar—has solidified her status as the queen of reinvention in the entertainment industry. By constantly refreshing her sound and image, she has managed to captivate audiences for decades. Her recent success with "Popular" serves as a powerful reminder that stagnation can be seen as the enemy of progress. In an ever-evolving entertainment landscape, it is crucial to keep things fresh while still maintaining a connection with one's core audience. People crave novelty, and Madonna's ability to strike a balance between familiarity and innovation is commendable. Although her recent pop and dance endeavors may not have resonated as strongly, Madonna's decision to partner with The Weeknd and Carti, and to explore a different musical direction, has reinvigorated her career. Expanding one's horizons and embracing the unknown should be encouraged, not feared. Madonna's willingness to alter her brand slightly and experiment with different genres demonstrates the importance of adaptability and evolution in the pursuit of artistic growth. It is a testament to her creative spirit and unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries. As Madonna's latest single surges up the Billboard charts, it serves as a poignant reminder that success can be found in unexpected places. Her ability to break free from the constraints of her past triumphs showcases the resilience and determination required to thrive in a competitive industry. Madonna's journey should inspire artists and individuals alike—as well as brands who are too comfortable with what they put out into the world—to embrace change and take risks, knowing that the rewards can be substantial.

I just noticed in the 4 minutes video that her heels change to flats and then back to heels on the conveyor belt.

Did the release date for the rainbow vinyl get pushed back a week? I think so. When I first saw it, the release date was June 23rd. But when I just went to order it now, I noticed the release date had changed to June 30th.

I actually forgot I ordered this. Since I already uploaded the CD version to my computer, I might give that copy to a friend and just keep the vinyl and the uploaded files.

Multi-week smash (for M). :) The release has accomplished notable feats for M on the U.S. charts- back on the Hot 100, pop and rhythmic airplay charts, first time on Streaming Songs, etc. Plus, top 10 Canada, highest rank on UK singles since 2009, and so forth.
