I hope it's really a bacterial infection. On social media people are saying she got addicted to opioids after her hip surgery. Prince accidentally overdosed on pain killers, which he started talking due to his joints hurting from dancing too much. MJ died while rehearsing for a big tour. If the rumors are true, Madonna needs to make changes to the tour. She's danced a lot her whole career, it's ok if she tones it down now. She should let the backup dancers do most of the dancing. She should also do less dates. She should do a few stadium shows in select cities and have the fans fly in to see her. A long arena tour does not sound like a good idea at this point in her career.

Reading these headlines makes me so nervous. I never wanted to see or hear about Madonna like this. In times like these, I remember how influential she has been on me and my life. Rest up, Madonna. You deserve it.

I’m not liking these headlines at all. I don’t like this energy out there surrounding Madonna. Now she’s apparently bed ridden and throwing up like crazy. I’m not seeing any of that at all. I’ve only seen mostly positive with some idiots making dumb comments on the Billboard post or stuff like that. I don’t scroll TicToc like most people. I scroll IG more than anything. |

I'm not convinced this is an infection. She's pushed her body too hard for too long. Given the injuries she has sustained over the years, it's not reasonable to expect her to have the fitness to do a tour at this scale in the way she no doubt wants to do it. As much as she advocates against ageism, the reality is everyone gets older, and that also means their physicality is not the same as it once was. I hope she comes to a place of acceptance and makes modifications that enable her to do what she loves, while also taking care of herself.

Get well soon Madonna!! I don't sense that this is the end, just an infection to get over. She's probably had some over the years but not to the level of needing to go to the hospital and mentally I think she's in a great place so I think she will get through.
Sidenote: Side-eye to that article mentioning Prince, Michael, Whitney, Tina, and George, but not Janet.

A lot of misinformation. I’ll wait until Madonna or her manager OR someone who actually is by her side actually speaks up. I read something as crazy as a tumor on Twitter today — and then they deleted the post after getting roasted, and it’s just not cool. People think this shit is cute. This is someone’s life, mega famous or not. Making things up to create a more salacious story is commonplace in the media, but with social media involved, it’s even worse.
I hope she’s doing better and I’ll continue to wait for HER statement, if she chooses to give one. If not, then we wait and send good, healing vibes. Any diagnosis made public should be her health choice to make.

What a great year for music, I remember taping The Boy Is Mine off the radio onto cassette! That year I moved into my first apartment downtown at the ripe age of 17. :) great memories. I think Ray of Light might have been the first album I purchased after moving out, actually.

Did anybody here order the rainbow vinyl version. Have you received it? I got in touch with them a few weeks back. They mentioned the release date had changed to 6/30 and that they were starting to ship that same day and shipping/tracking notification was going to be emailed. FEL is at No. 9 on the UK midweek albums chart (was just below top 100 on the recent chart). Will probably finish the week lower, though, clearly, the rainbow vinyl sold a decent number of copies.

Never mind. Just go my box delivered! : ) YESSSSS! I got my rainbow vinyl when I was at work, so it was nice to come home to. I didn't have time to unbox it until about an hour ago because I was seeing The Flash, but it looks great. I love how there are matching colored sleeves for each vinyl. Also, it sounds GREAT! Granted, I am only on the first vinyl, but impressed with the quality. |

Perhaps the last word should go to the curatorial director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Howard Kramer, who said: "Madonna and the career she carved out for herself made possible virtually every other female pop singer to follow... She certainly raised the standards of all of them... She re-defined what the parameters were for female performers."
A re-inventor, a re-definer and a role-model - Madonna may be briefly out, but as her history proves - she's unlikely to stay down for long.

i think they should change "hits" to "entries" and define a hit with a little more parameters. The streaming era has allowed album tracks to chart, but they aren't hits, they're just 1 week entries. Yes I'm pressed, but still. |

I can't remember exactly when she said this, but I believe it was on Fallon a year or so ago when she made a flippant comment about how she partied with opioids, or something to that extent and I remember thinking how irresponsible it was to say on television, and how dangerous a position she was putting herself in.
I haven't commented much, but I've had a sneaky suspicion there's way more to this than we're being told and these stories popping up kind of back up that suspicion. Where there's smoke there's fire.
