Sounds epic, but ngl, I'm a little disappointed about the lack of a live band.

^The live band has not been a big, integral huge part of her shows in terms of staging/presentation. The best was Girlie back in 1993. There are times she spotlights musicians since, but like the backup singers, they've become more background.
Madonna plays guitar in the new show, it looks, for at east one number. I had read that there are people playing instruments at some point, though it's not a "band."

Neil from Madonnatribe says O2 actually doesn't have a curfew and Madonna could've extended the show as long as she pays for it.

It's surely impossible to capture every facet of Madonna in a couple of hours but from what I've read and am seeing, looks like this does a pretty great job. Great setlist that hits basically all corners of her discography without solely relying on hits.

Whatβs her beef with βCherishβ? For real now. If there ever was a time to bring that one back, it would be now with this retrospective tour. Sheesh! WHY DOES SHE HATE THIS GEM????
By the way, Madge looks fabulous!

I'm not sure who is to "Blame" - Madonna, her staff, the venue, etc. but having camera issues and curfews on the opening night(s) is a pretty bad look for all involved.
If there is truly a curfew - I've heard conflicting reports - then you make sure you start on time. You should know the show inside and out and make sure Madonna is able to perform in the allotted time.
If you have tech (camera) issues, then the venue as a whole should have allowed more time to resolve the issues or her team should have had back ups in place. Or Madonna or whomever should have moved songs around or cut other songs to play the bigger hits at the end.

she sure does! Glad she looks nothing like the photoshopped pics we've seen for ages. Both filtered and botched (to make her look bad).

NME 5 stars www.nme.com/reviews/live/madonna-celebration-tour-review-setlist-3515338Madonna live in London: pop queen grapples with her legacy βOn the opening night of her greatest hits tour Madge delivers the bangers in dazzling fashion, but it's the emotional moments that make this show truly special. Madonna isnβt just a pop star, but also a cultural force who genuinely changed the world by chafing against what society expects from women in the public eye.β

So glad the tour is getting such good reviews. Also, all of her children are so beautiful!

Just saw this commercial on CNN, though obviously it had an English voiceover to make it relevant to the U.S. market.

From the clips I have seen of the show, it looks like a lot of fun and very LGBT focused, much more so than she usually is, which is great.
Also appears that she is doing much less dancing herself and leaving the heavy lifting to the cast. Not that she is just standing there, but definitely not seeing her being toe to toe with all the dancers like she has in the past. I have to assume she has to pace herself given her past injuries (you can see her wearing a lot of k-tape on her left leg) and that she needs to be able to make it through 70+ shows. Also, the reality is, she IS 65 and came off from being very ill, so I get that she won't be moving around like she did at 30. I don't really mind as she looks amazing, love the song selection, and sounds great. To me, all she has to do is put on some heals, sing a great song, and strut across the stage and she has already surpassed the other pop divas.

It's going to be so hard for me to avoid spoilers about the show!! Every time I open my facebook or instagram I see news about it!! And some headlines even mention the name of the songs sung! And my show is still like in April! But the few pictures I have seen she looks great and sophisticated again!

I've avoided setlists for decades, it's hard to believe, but it's true. But I still avoid any audio. I've watched some snippets of a few segments but nothing over 15 seconds or so. Looks great to me! She looks amazing. And I am not one to nitpick shows and point out flaws, so I think I'll absolutely love it. I loved Madame X and thought that was brilliant, too.

I, too, am trying to avoid spoilers. Has she been showing up on time so far? My biggest disappointment with the MX show I attended was that she was four hours late.

Gah, I just bought my plane tickets to Montreal for a second time with hopes it doesn't get cancelled/postponed because this one set me back almost $1000 (for two of us). Hotel booking still to come. I've had cancelled concerts too many times before but I feel like this time around it's been the most costly... Madonna won't disappoint I'm sure but having to spend so much just to see it from the nosebleeds makes it hard for me to look forward to it right now :(

So not bad, everyone is late pretty much a little bit. Madame X was great tho. I was thoroughly impressed what she did with such a small space.
