I don’t understand why she is trying so desperately to engage with TikTok (taking poppers during a TikTok interview) and YouTube influencers (praising Trisha Paytas). She’s always seemed so above this kind of drivel. I think it's at least partly due to mothering kids who are in that age range combined with the desire to feel youthful. Then there's also the thing about how she's probably found an effective vessel to be extra on the regular and piss everyone off. I do look forward to hearing what a new Madonna album will sound like in the tik tok era. I believe under all the "crazy desperation" she's giving, she's still very much the Madonna that is capable of sophisticated greatness. She's just never going to adhere to the rules or expectations of what's acceptable in the minds others. Not sure why anyone would expect her to at this point?

I interpreted Dammn Baby as saying they don't understand why she seems to be chasing trends/attention, which is different from "adhering to the rules." Madonna may not have adhered to rules in the 80s and 90s, but she also never seemed desperate and reactive the way she does now. It's not about expecting her to adhere to a rule or whatever, it's about being used to her existing in her own rule.

It's not about expecting her to adhere to a rule or whatever, it's about being used to her existing in her own rule. Sort of. It's moreso why she would she even consider someone like Trisha Paytas or Terri Jo worthy of her attention. Why is she bothering with these useless people? Everyone knows Madonna won't adhere to the "rules" (whatever they are) - but she's behaving like a juvenile, and it's just not very interesting or provocative given what she's capable of. That being said, I appreciated Madame X because it demonstrated some much-needed musical ambition after the dumpster fire that was MDNA and the mediocrity/mixed bag of Rebel Heart - so hopefully this doesn't come across in her music, because we don't need a whole album of Bitch I'm Madonna. Frozen (Sickick Remix) has 99,946,424 streams on Spotify today. 100 million tomorrow! Beyonce's Break My Soul (The Queens Remix) has fallen out of the Top 10 on Madonna's "Popular" page. Truly a crime that this has nearly double the streams of the original.

I agree it comes across as juvenile, but I don't think she's concerned about optics, especially while being silly and having fun, and never has been. She might be going through some things and her behavior and decisions of late may be the product of that, and to that I'd say, we've seen other artists go through some things much sooner in life. So it is what it is. She's allowed to go through it and not reason to think she, of all people, won't work through it and make something great of it. And the second paragraph of my reply was to say that I think the legendary Madonna is still in there, and suspect it will be reflected in her next studio album. Just like with Madame X. Not sure about the rumored EP - that might be a little more... spontaneous... if it happens. Hopefully she can take all this youthful inspiration and channel it into something that fans will recognize as current-yet-classic Madonna.

I like how almost every day we have something to remember in Madonna's history.

Second Lolahol video. btw, does anybody know the origin of "hol" in Lolahol?? The video is shot in her mothers horse stables in the Hamptons. I recognize it from Madonna's own photos / videos / social media.

Something To Remember shows a side of Madonna many people never see. Such a beautiful collection of songs. Indeed. And shows Madonna’s capabilities to connect emotionally with the listeners. You’ll See is among my favorite songs and vocal performances by Madonna, and the Spanish version, Verás, was a big hit in Latin radios. At the same time, I’m always aiming for as comprehensive a collection as possible, though, so I would’ve added three more songs: The look of love, Sooner or later and Bad girl.

Oooh!!! I hope it means we get the Up Down Suite (Goodbye to Innocence Dub)!!!
It's probably too much to hope for, but I would love for the vocal version of "Goodbye to Innocence" to be made available too.
