For what it's worth, she's confirmed that she and some of the dancers had the virus at the end of the MX Tour. They, understandably, though it was the flu. She says her health is fine now.

Omg...you guys act like she's out their protesting to open up hair salons. It’s okay to love her and still be critical of her actions if they may be a bit reckless.

I'm one of her biggest critics, i'm usually very harsh towards her but i don't see anything wrong with her attending the birthday of her best friend. I'm sure she took all the precautions to attend that party, plus i don't think there were more than 20-25 people at the party, which is acceptable if you do social distancing.

How do you practice social distance while hugging? I would like to hug my friends too but...yeah...I can't during a pandemic. I don't care if both she and Stephen had the virus already. It is sending an irresponsible message. Then again, the woman has said before she will do what she wants and doesn't give a f**k, so in actuality, this is just another case of Madonna being Madonna. She can call her White son the N word, she can joke about eating "COVIDCake" in the middle of a pandemic where lives are being taken away in the most vicious and cruel manner and livelihoods are being destroyed, she can hug her friends and party while many people are stuck inside battling depression and anxiety and dying for a hug, etc. Anyone that disagrees with her is a hater and gets the middle finger. Carry on.

Carry on. Who called you a hater? Not me, if you've read what i've written. It's a forum so it's natural we'll disagree on some issues, calling someone names or hater is not my MO. Maybe they came close when the photo was taken and they did social distancing after that, how do we know that? It's so easy to judge people based on one photo but as a fan for more than 30 years, i trust her judgement on this. If you want people to blame, blame those Republicans who protest and don't wear masks cause they are more hazardous to public health than Madonna.

Carry on. I agree. And I’m a stan. I’ve visited a couple of friends in the past couple of months. Once my partner and I were in the garage and she was in her doorway. We hugged at a distance lol. Next one we went to someone’s backyard. Fence was open. We stayed in tables a couple meters apart. We were 2 couples, one who had just lost close ones and was having a rough time. My partner and I wore masks. M is a public figure. She has a lot of followers. She’s old - high risk. I’m very disappointed at this and being Madonna is not an excuse in my opinion. I still love her, though. No one is perfect.

I always thought she was smarter than this. Immunity hasn’t been proven at ALL, regardless of antibodies.
Get it together Madge. You have SO much to live for, don’t be reckless.

I swear people need to learn to sit your damn asses home especially if you tested positive We got fucking Skype, Zoom, Discord, and what not Talk and party together through that or don't do anything at all No one should be grouping together in close proximity for any reason whatsoever So Madge deserves to get flamed for that choice she made, we are in an international state of quarantine, wait to celebrate your fucking parties AFTER the quarantine.

Wow, the haters coming out of hiding spaces! And who tested positive? Listen here and listen well Leonagwen already did this policing mess in every Camila thread and were tired of that shit Criticism is a thing and opinions are a thing Just cause we criticize something doesn't suddenly mean we hate Madonna Opinions AREN'T fact, if you disagree with it do it in a respectful way instead of pointing fingers like a 12 year old and calling everyone who doesn't agree with you a hater It's tired, it's stupid, it's immature, and it derails the thread. Also this forum is a public thing, last time I checked this thread isn't locked and shows up in latest topics so anyone could jump into this conversation No one asked for an officer to watch over the thread and guide what can be said and what can't be said, so don't play that role, it isn't even cute :sip2:

I don't really agree with going to parties or not wearing a mask right now, but you do you. However, she is an influential public figure with folks who pay attention to her. If she did what she says she did, she should have shut up about it.

Yes, Madonna! More of this and less tone-deaf antics, please! I think I will pull out my Madonna discography in her honor tomorrow.

Another Blond-Ambition-at-30 article. www.theguardian.com/music/2020/may/08/a-freudian-nightmare-madonnas-blond-ambition-tour-turns-30The Guardian'A Freudian nightmare': Madonna's Blond Ambition tour turns 30 Three decades on, the controversy-courting concert tour is still shaping the ways female artists express their sexuality Mark Beaumont Fri 8 May 2020 In Toronto, Madonna simulated masturbation on a velvet bed under the watchful eye of the Canadian police, who threatened her with arrest if her show went ahead. In Italy, unions called for a general strike if Madonna performed, and Pope John Paul II declared her concert “one of the most satanic shows in the history of humanity”. The Blond Ambition tour, which turned 30 years old last month, remains among the most controversial tours of all time. It seems bizarre now that so much fuss was made over a little fake frotting and a few gyrating nuns. But this was 1990, when Kylie Minogue was still performing in straw hats, Bananarama were deemed dangerous and the gossip pages raged over Annie Lennox singing Would I Lie to You in a bra. Into this age of relative wholesomeness landed Blond Ambition Madonna, on a mission to combine fashion, rock, Broadway theatricality and performance art, to “be provocative” and “break useless taboos”. Mission accomplished. Jean Paul Gaultier’s famous conical corset has been described as a “Freudian nightmare”, a generation of teenagers asked their parents what S&M stood for, and the coy suggestiveness of the live pop spectacle was blown wide open. The themed set-pieces – religion, German expressionism, art deco, Madge’s rubbish new movie Dick Tracy – set a new bar for confrontational theatricality that only greater shock tactics could ever challenge. Marilyn Manson’s onstage Bible shredding is straight out of the “Madonna 90” guidebook, and with her firework bras, stage blood and copious dry-humping, Lady Gaga looks as if she was conceived at a Blond Ambition gig. But the key taboo Madonna broke that summer was that of feminine sexuality as strength rather than titillation, as something owned by the artist not cashed in by the svengalis. That’s what gave us SexKylie, “zig-a-zig-AH!”, Wrecking Ball-era Miley and Nicki Minaj’s bottom-obsessed Anaconda. It’s one of the reasons female artists feel comfortable singing about sex and desire today. Sex sells, though, and more sex sells more. Over the decades, overt sexuality became the expected – nay, contractual – pop norm. Attention-grabbing boundaries were pushed to their limits, and artists were pressured to play this new, ever raunchier game. Enter Billie Eilish, defiantly covered, mocking the uber-sexualised expectations of modern pop with a film of her stripping off beneath blackened water: “If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me?” she intones, shaming the bodyshamers and staring out the monetisable male gaze. By asserting ownership of her body she is not re-establishing any old taboos, she’s breaking the oldest one of all – subservience. Her image, her body, her art, her rules. Which was Madonna’s point all along.

Perhaps the two more iconic tours of hers. I can't think of a good reason after all these years. :( I can't believe it seems NOBODY ever asks Madonna that question in any interviews. UK album charts:
66 (RE)The Immaculate Collection
Highest position since May 2008
It's 12xP in the UK. It should be re-certified.

Which was Madonna’s point all along. When it came out, Pioneer had the exclusive license to it. They did it that way because they were trying to promote the laser disc format and only released it in that format. Luckily my family had laser disc and I still have the original release. I remember the point at which you had to flip it over was when she was talking with Dick Tracy and she said in French, "My Dick is very hard too." Not sure why years after that they never released it in other formats. Laser disc format died and I cannot imagine that Pioneer had the rights to it in perpetuity.

Madonna's management has promised us a BA release before. You'd think with all this extra time on their hands, they could plan something special for fans.

Yeah, can't imagine a viable reason why BAT still has not been released on other formats. Is it a coincidence that the two tours with behind-the-scenes documentaries and performance footage have not been released? Things that make one go hmmm...
There's been talk that the official Virgin Tour footage (the whole show) was in a location that experienced a fire. Not sure of the validity of such info, though.

I had read that the videographer / editor who was handling the recording of the Virgin Tour felt that her performances on Borderline, Angel, and Burning Up were not very good, so he left it out of the release. Seems off because that would imply the only show they recorded was Detroit. Nowadays, she records many many shows and they compile the best footage for the release. I believe this started with Who's That Girl Tour as that contains clips from Torino and Tokyo. You can even see one spot where the stage and audience footage is spliced together. At any rate, here are some audience filmed footage of the missing songs from the Virgin Tour: Angel (Performed between "Everybody" and "Gambler") Borderline (Performed between "Gambler" and "Lucky Star") Burning Up (Performed between "Over and Over" and "Like a Virgin")
