Watch out for Kesha folks, Praying is gonna rattle the Grammy stage on Sunday and I expect a Top 20 or even Top 10 re-entry.

Drake pulled in 4.7 million streams on Spotify again. If he can hold anything near that for a few weeks (and as we've seen with streaming, not much falls fast), I don't see "Finesse" or anything passing him even with a Grammys boost.

Watch out for Kesha folks, Praying is gonna rattle the Grammy stage on Sunday and I expect a Top 20 or even Top 10 re-entry. Would be cool but airplay is dead and it never made it higher than #24 on it's original run. I'm gonna go ahead and predict a nice boost on sales but nothing more.

I wonder how quickly some of the performances will be available for download/streaming. We've seen some examples where live versions really took off after a performance, but sometimes they weren't ready in time to truly capitalize (or were never available at all). Surely this will start to become a common thing?

At least it’s God’s plan and not some other shit song that’s blocking finesse but I’d rather the other way around

Drake's 'God's Plan' Aiming for No. 1 Debut on Billboard Hot 100 Next Week
The song should start as the most-streamed & most-sold of the week.
Drake's "God's Plan" is aiming to blast in at No. 1 on next week's Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Feb. 3).
The song arrived late on Jan. 19, along with fellow new track "Diplomatic Immunity," which could launch in the top 20 or higher on the tally. (The songs are paired on Drake's new "Scary Hours" two-track single.)
Let's run some projections. Highlights of next week's Hot 100, which blends streaming, airplay and sales data, according to Nielsen Music, will post on Billboard.com Monday (Jan. 29), with all charts posting the following day (Jan. 30).
Based on preliminary data projecting the tracking period feeding next week's Hot 100, "God's Plan" could draw over 55 million U.S. streams, easily enough to soar in at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart. It should also sell over 110,000 downloads and bow atop the Digital Song Sales chart. With radio promotion just beginning, the song is also likely to draw over 20 million in radio audience in the tracking week.
Meanwhile, "Diplomatic Immunity" should start with over 20 million first-week U.S. streams.
Drake is seeking his fourth Hot 100 No. 1 and second as a lead artist. He first led as featured on Rihanna's "What's My Name?," which topped the Nov. 20, 2010-dated chart , and then as featured on her "Work," which began a nine-week reign on March 5, 2016. He followed with his own "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla, which ruled for 10 weeks beginning May 21, 2016.
"God's Plan" would mark Drake's first debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and the chart's first since DJ Khaled's "I'm the One," featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, which roared in on top last May 20.
With two debuts, Drake is additionally in line to up his count to 159 career Hot 100 entries, extending his mark for the most among soloists in the chart's 59-year history.
"God's Plan" is aiming to dethrone Camila Cabello's "Havana," featuring Young Thug, atop the Hot 100, after the latter earned its first week at No. 1 on the chart dated Jan. 27.
Again, visit Billboard.com Monday (Jan. 29) to find out who's No. 1 and for a rundown of the chart's top 10.

Outside of something other than Damn or Melodrama winning AOTY, Kesha could easily be the biggest talking point especially if she hits the damn note (she won't but I can hope). I could see a re-peak if it wins an award and has a stellar performance. Idk about top 10, but finally breaking the top 20 seems fair

I feel like Finesse will be somewhat of a That's What I Like situation. A lot of weeks at #2 and then sneaking in a week at #1 when the #1 starts falling. I would say it'd be a Havana situation but it can't get to #1 off an album (unless Cardi B puts it on hers for some reason).

With Elton John's retirement announcement, his performance with Miley could be a big digital seller if they choose to release it.

I don't think Finesse is going to hit #1, maybe it will be just like 24K Magic, have good longevity in the top 10. Not bad for a 4th single from a 2016 album

So at this rate, God's Plan will also be #1 on the 2/10 chart? But surely it won't have quite as many points then as it will on the debut. But dang.
And we're getting a Migos album bomb along with the Grammys shake-up.

I may not be able to post the airplay numbers on this thread in the next two days due to some other stuff that's going on in my life, so I'll be away from my computer for a little while. I could post the airplay numbers on my phone but it would be pretty difficult.
So you know, just keep that in mind if I don't post the airplay numbers for the next two days.

I think they should have done it with the date change at the start of the year...

If Drake debuts two songs on the top 10 he would follow Ed Sheeran (Shape of You and Castle on the Hill), and himself (Portland, Passionfruit) as the only acts to have achieved that.
RFI would have dropped regardless (last week was it's 20th on the chart), so technically it is going "recurrent".
Won't hold my breath for New Rules getting a new peak, considering sales and streams are at best stable and probably went down a bit, but it would be great.

Can we even develop something else from streaming? I mean, the method of streaming can advance in terms of devices, but what is left in terms of advancement? What's on the horizon?
