How is having your lead single from your first solo studio album in four years that's barely one month old below a two year old soundtrack single ANYTHING to brag about?

^It's good to have great streaming numbers on a daily basis? Idk
The fact that Shallow is doing that well still, indicates that there are lots of people who are proactively searching for her music and not just playing what's on Today's Top Hits.
In my country, she has 3 tracks in top 200, these two and Always Remember Us This Way.
Also, The Fame Monster became her FOURTH album to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

One of the most legit sources for the album releases (i.e. a record store somewhere in Europe) said that the album would be released on May 15. It said December 31, 2020 at Itunes yesterday.... Maybe it was a mistake?? On a sidenote a poster said this has had decent longevity? I'm not dissing this song but where has it?? It's been out 43 days which is 6 weeks. It's nowhere to be seen at Apple Music, 171 at Spotify, 67 at Itunes and may be peaking at radio. I'm hoping it's not peaking but if it is I wouldn't say it had a decent amount of longevity.. It will probably drop quickly unfortunately.

I think that was declared as a placeholder by her manager?

You’re all so doom and gloom. We went from being happy it made top 20 and now it’s all flop this, done that, because it’s about to peak. Why is anyone surprised? Didn’t it surpass expectations? It did for me anyway. Obviously we’d want it to do more but with everything going on, the album delay, the interrupted promo, and the song isn’t exactly a slow burner anyway, I don’t know why some of you are so snappy to say it’s done as if you want the stans to argue with you.

I think the concern is the single kind of seems pointless at this point. Whenever they decide to proceed with the era, she will need a complete fresh restart. “Stupid Love” did nothing in giving her momentum nor does it feel like a 1st single for a new album. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they just proceed to leave it off the album completely and just call it a stand alone single.

The only thing that needs to be done to this song is to get a top 10 on pop. Once that’s done, then they should move on to new single or whatever is best during this unusual time.
IMO this was a small hit and a win for her at this point in her career.

I’d consider this a relative success. Another Hot 100 Top 10 and her highest-peaking song at pop radio in 6 and a half years.. it sounds like something from about 10 years ago too and she’s been around for over a decade now and still managed that. I don’t expect her to return to the kind of success she had in her heyday, so I’m satisfied with a Top 10 hit.

Ok I'm lost. How the hell leaving Stupid Love out from the album would help her do better on charts?
It's track 3 by the way iirc

it’s crazy this is at #185 on Spotify. I wonder if she (and the label) are regretting their decision...
I know she’s a performance artist, blah blah blah, but 90% of her fanbase is literally sitting at home doing nothing. She’s got a creative team. Surely they could’ve come up with something.....a unique approach instead of just abandoning the entire thing.

The song's been out for like 6 weeks and people call that longevity, I don't want to defend Yummy but that one peaked at #2 on the Hot 100, it's #150 on Spotify while Stupid Love right now is at #185, almost out of the top 200, Yummy was called a mega flop by everyone... and WW Spotify 80. Shallow 81. Stupid Love Just... how!? People not getting tired of Shallow and getting almost 1milli streams daily lol

It seems like there is always an excuse when it comes to her subpar chart performances. And then if she does ok her fans make it out to be some big success. I think that's what annoys people.
Like, are y'all really trying to blame this song's performance lately on the Coronavirus? Lol

For example, Dua Lipa performing "Break My Heart" on Jimmy Fallon a few days ago. Gaga and her team definitely could have come up with some way to promote the single and the album as a whole. The "Stupid Love" video was "shot on an iPhone", for goodness sake.

We knew the song wasn’t going to smash on the charts because we know radio has mostly moved on from Gaga. It’s not that big a deal. It’s all about context. Not every artist is painted with the same brush. She had her peak ten years ago. No artist experiences a plateauing level of success for very long. We’re fine this isn’t number one and all things considered, this has done/is doing well. Stop being stupid or leave.

Literally no one even mentioned the virus just like no one mentioned Rihanna several pages ago. And the only one "annoyed" by her fans having realistic expectations and celebrating when she matches or bests those is you. 💀 Let people be happy for f**k's sake. You continue to do the absolute most in here to get a rise out of anyone willing to argue with you and it's beyond tiresome at this point. Go skulk back under your bridge, troll.

Isn't Gaga busy raising money to help with the fight against COVID19? I'd gather that's more useful than promoting her single which most likely peaked already anyways.
I still believe the second single has a strong chance to do even better, whenever it's released.

NeRD is a big troll. Clearly she is upset that her fave isn't putting out music anymore and has found a new source of income. Hence, the bitterness.

Katy, Taylor, and Gaga all getting horrible callouts with their singles (Lover having trash callout will still forever mystify me) kinda make me wonder if people have just really want to get rid of the "older" female pop stars.

It's probably partly true. People have seen their names in the press for a decade, those who don't like them are tired to them as they are not fan of the music, or any music for that matter, they are just listening to radio to find pleasant stuff and hearing Gaga still might piss them off. It's just a battle these artists have to overcome and they are fine with that, I know Gaga is at least and based on her doc, Taylor is as well.
I wish people just supported pop stars like urban audience support their faves (like has no one ever said a bad word about Jay-Z's music? Chris Brown still getting hits?)
