I want some space between Star is Born and Funny Girl so I hope she doesn't start on that for a few years. Give me the Oscars, Vegas tour and new album next Spring. Then maybe Funny Girl in mid-late 2020.

Then maybe Funny Girl in mid-late 2020. Well, right now it is an unconfirmed rumor that she is going to be in the show. Neither Rosie's or Lady Gaga's reps have confirmed their participation. Also, this production has been rumored to come to Broadway for the past 6 years. They announce it and then cancel it each time. So I wouldn't assume it is a done deal. Gaga has never mentioned any sort of interest in it during any of her interviews that I have seen. This announcement was sort of out of left field....plus, we know Rosie O'Donnell is not always playing with a full deck. I think she would be interesting in the role. Though if she does it, it should be sooner rather than later. She doesn't want to age out of the part. Barbra was 21 when she took on the role.

I’d rather her not do that role on Broadway at the risk of her being labeled a Barbra wannabe. But I’d like to see her take on Broadway in a couple years. It’s only a matter of time. But after the next proper album era.

I think she has really connected with Barbra recently (she visited the ASIB set etc) but I agree, she's not like her, she's much more versatile as an artist.

Unless one is completely unfamiliar with Barbra Streisand or thinks she is just the old lady who sings show tunes, you wouldn't know she has had hits in many genres (Pop, standards, disco, etc.) She even had a #1 duet with Donna Summer, which is as polar opposite from her show tunes as you can get. She is an EGOT winner, so I think her versatility is covered. I am not even much of a Barbra fan at all, I just don't think you can really dispute her versatility or that any of the modern day divas really surpasses her in that regard. Plus, she is still churning out #1 albums since 1963.

Gaga and Barbra are 100% as versatile as each other. Let's not ignore the fact that EGOT aside, Barbra just released a Rhythmic R&B slow jam shading our current President at age 76.

Letting the A Star Is Born soundtrack sink in a bit more, I think "Is That Alright?" might be the best ballad of Gaga's career thus far. A simple song with a gorgeous, impassioned vocal, free of any unnecessary theatrics. Such a breath of fresh air.

Heal Me is such a jam, and to me recorded simultaneously as The Cure. Same idea, but tbh, the superior song. Almost wonder how that would have performed instead of The Cure.

I just wanted to take a minute and give some props to Gaga for the stunning career transformation she has undergone in the past 5 years. After Artpop it looked as if she would fade into obscurity. She was in trouble of becoming a caricature of her former self. Then slowly she started to soften her image. She did that amazing performance at the Oscars, released a much praised album of duets with Tony Bennett, then moved on to Joanne, creating further distance from her original larger than life persona. Then came the Superbowl. All of this was the perfect set-up and prelude to A Star Is Born. It's like a completely new Gaga and it's been fascinating to watch.
I hate comparing the two but the best comparison I can make is the work Madonna put into reshaping her career/image after Sex/Erotica that eventually landed her at Ray of Light. It's just awesome to see Gaga's immense talent rewarded like this.

The movie is out today in Italy allegedly. I hope I get to see it this weekend, but the Italian version will most likely suck.

I wonder if "The Cure" was originally recorded for the movie as one of Ally’s pop songs, but then they ultimately decided to make it one of Gaga’s own singles to try to capitalize on the momentum from the Super Bowl performance?

Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Hit Top 10Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" vaults 28-5 on the Hot 100, as parent album the A Star Is Born soundtrack, by the film's two stars, blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The duet tops Digital Song Sales for a second week (71,000, up 21 percent), reigning as the Hot 100's top digital sales gainer; enters Streaming Songs at No. 34 (13.4 million, up 61 percent); and sports 5.1 million in all-format radio audience (up 176 percent), as it debuts on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart at No. 29. Fueling the song's buzz: After A Star Is Born premiered in theaters Oct. 5 (the same day that its soundtrack arrived), the film earned $94.2 million in its first 10 days of release in the U.S. and Canada. "Shallow" is Cooper's first Hot 100 top 10 (in his first visit to the chart) and Gaga's 15th, and first since another ballad, "Million Reasons," hit No. 4 in February 2017. Dating to her first week in the top 10, with "Just Dance," featuring Colby O'Donis, almost 10 years ago (Dec. 6, 2008), Gaga moves into a sixth-place tie with Bruno Mars for the most top 10s in that span, following Drake (31), Rihanna (22), Taylor Swift (20) and Lil Wayne and Minaj (17 each).
