Sure not, just hope she can control herself and stay on a healthy side and doesn't do drugs the way she did at the time... we all know she's been smoking weed for years publicly, even.

Solid vocal aside, that performance last night was hard to watch. It's sh*t like that that makes it so hard to be a fan of hers sometimes.

But congrats on the wins, they were deserved.

It was an odd performance for sure. Her movements and stage presence didn't really go with the song. However, her vocals were very good. You could tell she was trying to sing the first verse low, like Bradley Cooper would, and then transition to her upper register for her part.

I see a couple of folks mentioning she was high or something. Is she known for doing drugs? I don't know much about her personal life or if she ever struggled with drugs. I didn't get that she was high, more than she was just doing a performance that didn't really go with what she was singing.

It's hard to tell sometimes, that performance was pretty much in line what she did with Metallica in 2017. But then again, she definitely ISN'T high when she does a 2h show. She does smoke weed a lot though, you can see it in the Five Foot Two doc. In the doc she says that she did lot of drugs in 2010-2014 when she had a rough time and she also drank a lot back then. I don't think she's been drunk publicly in a very long time but possibly high in some occasions yes.

She has also addressed her drug issues indirectly, latest being the statement about Do What U Want. Obviously it was also due to her PTSD struggles and stuff..

I try so hard to like her, and I enjoy Shallow a lot, but why, why does she have to be so extra in everything she does. Her performance for her winning speech was much better acting than her turn in A Star is Born.

I love Gaga, I've been a fan since the beginning but the drama gets to be a bit much. Vocally, she sounded fantastic last night. But the movements and theatrics were way tooo much. She's always crying and so emotional over this or that which makes it hard to think it's authentic. If it is, I apologize but it's just so over the top! Which is maybe why her performance in ASIB has been acclaimed because she pulled back from that? When I saw that video from her Vegas show at Bradley's feet crying while they sang Shallow, I almost puked.

I never thought that her performance was nothing more than switching it up without Bradley. I thought it was a welcome change after hearing the song for over 4 months.

Lady Gaga accepted the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Shallow" at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

During the singer's emotional acceptance speech, she shared a strong message about mental health and the impact of her popular film, "A Star Is Born."

"I'm so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues," she said. "They're so important. A lot of artists deal with that, and we've got to take care of each other."

"If you see somebody that's hurting, don't look away," she continued. "And if you're hurting, even though it might be hard, try to find that bravery within yourself to dive deep and go tell somebody and take them up in your head with you."

She also sent a special shout out to her co-star Bradley Cooper, who she performed the hit single with, and explained that he was not able to make the Grammys because he is at the British Academy Film Awards.

"I know he wants to be here," she said. "Bradley, I loved singing this song with you."

Gaga and her "Star Is Born" family have had quite a successful weekend. Earlier Sunday, Gaga posted about the film winning the 2019 BAFTA Award for Best Original Music.

"I can’t believe we just won Best Original Music BAFTA‘s," she captioned a Facebook post. "I wish so much I was there but am at the Grammy’s to show them our love as well."

"We made a film about music. This means the world to me. Thank u to all our fans we love u so much, we wouldn’t be here without u #BAFTAs," she added.

The hit song, "Shallow," continues to dominate during the awards season.

It won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, won a Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Song and is also an Oscar-nominee for Best Original Song.

She probably cries and acts shocked for the same reason many of us might be shocked whenever she wins a major award. It’s still unexpected. Even when it’s obvious, it’s still surprising to see Gaga win big because she’s been deemed over for the last couple years and it still feels like an uphill climb at times.

This. I like her music and thinks she has done some really good catchy pop music. However, for me, it is sometimes so hard to like her persona. Everything is always so extra....she calls her music genius, the self aggrandisement, the way she is constantly overstating the importance / quality of her work. To your point, last night, her speech with the other women (Keys, Obama, Lopez) just seemed so inauthentic and like she was putting on a show. She just seemed out of place and didn't really seem to fit the vibe of the sentiment of the message. She rarely seems like a real person that I can imagine goes home, eats some cold spaghetti out of the tupperware, watches the Bachelor, and wears boxers and a tshirt to chill out. Everything seems to be a performance. Which is why when someone asks me what I think of her, I am always saying "love her music, cannot stand her." I know it is unfair and it is not like I personally know the woman, but just reacting to what she puts out there.

“Shallow,” the Grammy Award-winning, Oscar-nominated song from A Star Is Born, has reinvented the endlessly amorphous career of Lady Gaga yet again.

The uber-earnest, swooning ballad has capped off her reign as a chanteuse of traditional pop, a reign designed to make those who might have written her off as a weirdo pop star — one who blended wild gyrations with the aesthetic of a performing arts high school student given an unlimited budget — realize just how much talent she possessed. It even helped her get nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress. (Yeah, she’s great throughout A Star Is Born, but the moment when she first sings “Shallow” cements her performance as one to watch.)

But “Shallow” has always had one foot firmly in Gaga’s weirdo pop life, too. It’s a love song, sure, but it’s animated by a harrowing howl of desperation. Slap some electronic instrumentation on it and add a few dance moves and it wouldn’t be that far off of “Bad Romance” or “Poker Face.”

So Gaga’s performance of “Shallow” at the Grammys seemed intent on reminding audiences that she was both Gagas at once, that her artistic ambitions encompass all versions of herself and then some.

It was recognizably the tune that has taken the world by storm, first on movie screens and then on the radio. But it was also a song written as a duet that she was performing all by herself (though it’s not like this is a new idea — she even does it in the movie). She performed it while wearing a gorgeous glittering jumpsuit, and she aggressively lunged at the camera throughout. Plus, she opened the number by performing several dance moves that made her resemble nothing more than a monstrous spider.

It was a pop performance of a pop song, but also a pop performance that honored the song’s status as one of 2018’s great love songs. What’s more, it proved that “Shallow” is going to handily outlive the movie that gave birth to it. Depending on the context, it can be just about anything it needs to be, especially if Gaga is performing it.

And even if that weren’t true, the performance would suggest that Gaga’s career still has many, many more chapters in it, all bound up in a public persona that keeps purposefully shifting, like an ongoing symposium on what it means to be a star who is born and reborn, over and over again.

I loved the Shallow Performance it was peak high theatre kid feeling herself. I don't get the "hard to watch" comments, she sounded good and it was funny/entertaining seeing her like that.

She can be OTT for sure, but she clearly has a beautiful heart and is always pushing love, peace, LGBTQ equality, etc -- so I give her a pass. I enjoyed her performance last night. When you perform the same song a zillion times and wanna bring a new energy to it, it's not easy. She went for it and got a mixed reaction, oh well.

The thing is she just won 3 Grammys and a BAFTA along with a debatable kickass performance. Celebrating and acknowledging her achievements for the day is what really matters.
