Oh I'm not usually a remix album person, but this is more like an alt album - I liked it. Doubt I'll come back to it much, but suitably deranged.

I mean thanks, but this album doesn't really enhance/improve/re-interpret any of the original songs for me. But, thanks, I guess. Agreed. I'll stick to the iconic original album.

DOC is definitely a ride and depends on the mood. I listened to it in the morning and then again tired in the evening when it didn't hit as hard.
#10 on AM in the US so could even chart which would be great! Her previous remix albums have reached #6 ( :o ) and #105.

Saying this being better than original album is a bit delusional imo.

The Sine From Above remix reminds me of Weenie and the Butt in Family Guy
I like 1000 Doves, Fun Tonight and Enigma, but in general, I prefer the original Chromatica.

1000 Doves, Replay and Babylon might be better on DOC, but still too early to tell.

One listen and the only thing I could think was how bad I want to listen to the original album...

DoC is quite messy overall but some of the songs are quite stellar. I love Plastic Doll, 911 and Free Woman (the demo of FW is still the superior version).

One listen and the only thing I could think was how bad I want to listen to the original album... I listened to the original right after because there were so many elements from it I missed that wouldn’t carry over regardless. But I’m going to back through the remix album to pick out my favs to carry forward. There are going to be some!

I enjoyed the remix album tbh more than the original, I feel like a lot of the original sounded like department store playlist filler in the productions but I really like the work on many of these new productions. Some of my least favorites feel elevated so much more with these remixes primarily Free Woman, Plastic Doll, Sine From Above, and Fun Tonight. Some songs do feel weaker here than there originals mainly Enigma and Stupid Love.
My favorites were Plastic Doll, Babylon (Bree Runway remix), Free Woman, Replay, Sine From Above, and 911.

+4.05 million streams on Spotify on Saturday. Also Fun Tonight was added on Hot Hits Brazil. If only Spotify USA would do anything similar but they won't.

Honestly if this era continued to have singles we deserved 911 as a radio single when the mv dropped and then I'd probably take the new Free Woman remix and push that as a single.

I think Gaga has kinda given up on radio and I can't blame her. "Rain On Me" had Ariana Grande and they still only got it to #10 and bye on CHR. It took all the promo in the world to make "Million Reasons" happen and it wasn't that big on radio. "Shallow" did fine on overall radio but for as big as it was, radio wasn't that huge on it, especially CHR. No other explanation for no "911" push.
She might send her lead singles and the like but I think the days of getting five radio singles from her albums are done.

Oh yeah I definitely figured she was over actively pushing stuff. I still love that ROM peaked at #10 and I still hear it on the radio every here and there.
Felt like a top 3 radio hot but pop radio ain't shit these days so it's whatever

It's just bizarre to see, because especially Rain on Me was a gigantic airplay hit in Europe - I believe one of the most played tracks in the UK last year for instance. Always Remember Us This Way and Shallow were both top ten hits on airplay in my country etc etc. Can't think of any pop artist with such a big streaming audience (almost 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify even without new music) getting the same treatment in the US but it's what it is.

European radios are much more open minded and supportive of female artists. Up until Madame X era, Madonna got decent support from European radios but when you're over 30, you're pretty much done on US radios.

Yeah, Girl Gone Wild was a top ten radio hit in my country even and she was 54 then.

Dawn of Chromatica is #29 on the UK midweeks. Looking good for another charting remix album for her!! The previous Born This Way: The Remix reached #77.

Britney, pink, and many other females have had radio success in their 30s. 40s is where it really slows down. In the last decade, really only JLO Was able to get a few hits in her early 40s.

Is European radio as segmented as North American radio?

Depends on the country I think. In some countries, the national broadcaster has big stations that play very different kind of music to various demographies hence older acts can get respectable airplay if they are popular enough.
Gaga is 35, she is unfortunately on the verge of being snubbed in the US. Hope she gets one or two top ten hits on CHR but not holding my breath. Streaming will be her strongest component from now on, and she will get some HAC/AC support of course.

Even her remix album is slaying so i wouldn't worry about her commercial performance as long as she releases good music.

Is European radio as segmented as North American radio? Not in Italy.

Is the remix album release helping the original sales at all?
